    I had an issue with a 2620T earlier this year and after investigating it was that same intake gasket you replaced on this one but all the screws were still tight but the gasket was leaking and letting air in. Thanks for all you and share with us buddy!!

    Never underestimate the importance of an intake gasket in the working of a two stroke. Great vid as usual

    Another thing that our SHINDAIWA 262 trimmers do (appear to be the same) is that they foul plugs often. Same 2 stroke mix as everything else and they foul em almost weekly. Factory plug is a CMR7H, I now use two heat ranges hotter CMR5H and have had no comebacks.

      Mine is fouling plugs now

      @acaudioweddings Would a different fuel mixture solve this, or is it a natural occurrence due to design of the ports?

    Yup.had 2 of these.both rattled the carb and intake assemblies loose in the first 2 weeks of operation.other than that, they've been absolute beasts,echo makes great trimmers.their smaller chainsaws and polesaws have more problems than a math book though.

    Just checked mine and they were a little loose. I also noticed that a mouse had chewed my choke lever and it is broken but still working. Just ordered a new filter base. He also got my return line. Little bastard! At least the filter base was only $7 and change. I had some fuel line so that wasn’t a big deal.

    Thanks for the great video. I have a Shindaiwa T262 (same as the 2620) that I bought last spring. It ran great at first. Then, in August, my dad dropped it off the back of his truck. The whole carb assembly came off and the carb was damaged. I had to replace the carb but it's never run correctly since. I had to go back 5 times to the dealer. They claimed air was getting into the tank and put some sort of a sealant on it. But it still doesn't run right. When you go pull the trigger, it stalls a bit. Then, as you're working with the trimmer and it warms up, the same thing happens especially when you flip it upside down. Is there a fix to this? If there's not, I'd rather cut my losses and get a new tripper as I had to pay $180 to replace the carb plus the $450 I paid for it. That's Canadian dollars. Thanks.

    why does the string spinner head keep spinning when I don't push the ignition button?I've replace the carburetor pre your video as well as the spark plug, gas filter and air Filter and it continues to spin. SRM 2620

      Carb needs adjusting. Either the idle screw is too fast or the air fuel mixture is off.

    Hello I have a SRM2620 it works fine the only thing is that it doesn’t turn off with the switch (on/off) I have to flip the switch to cold start in order to turn it off. Any recommendations?

    • @THEMOWERMEDIC1
      @THEMOWERMEDIC1  Před rokem +1

      Simple diagnostic, test switch with VOM. all the switch does is ground the ignition coil

    • @jh7538
      @jh7538 Před 6 měsíci

      Probably figured it out already but try spraying some lubricant or cleaner in the switch and turn on an off a bunch of times to clean the contacts.

    They cost twice what you pay them in repairs

    Not sure what you did with taking the intake manifold off…? You took 2 screws out than started putting them back in?
    Explain?
