    For those of us old enough to recall the whole story, that was an epic interview.

    I think this is the best interview ever I've seen with a rock star. He's so natural and a nice bloke.

      A genius.
      Other guys are flash and can’t play; real guys are quiet and unassuming - they have nothing to prove.
      I was a drummer in a band in the 90’s.
      I would love to play again.
      If there ere any musicians in the Maidstone area - reply …..

    Love to hear Kenny talk about his early days and drumming for the The Small Faces/The Faces/The Who up until now. I love to see Kenny get all excited and happy recalling all the crazy times over all the years. His love of the music is obvious!

      And he really did well with the Who. They sounded much cleaner and "orderly" after he joined. They should have asked Mr. Daltrey playing more guitar, as well shift the stage focus more onto him. Pete Townshend still kept on delivering many fine songs for at least 10 years. What an incredible talent!

    Kenney is so cool in these interviews. He also seems to have a lot of admiration and respect for the late, great Keith Moon.

    That was great. I loved hearing about their anxiety dreams; their kits being arranged backwards, their tommy drums facing outwards. That’s hilarious. Thank God that legendary musicians are human and have anxiety dreams too. 😎

    shame you didnt ask him more about the who, like him leaving and the circumstances, and how he felt about them after that, and how he feels about them now.
    good interview though.

      Kenney used Ginger Baker drum sticks, I used to buy em by the shed load when I was the Small Faces roadie from Drum City on Shaftsbury Avenue. Story goes Ginger nipped in one day to get some sticks and was out of luck, I'd beat him to it.
      Kenney was my favourite guy in the group, even stayed over at his mum and dads place and had pie and mash for dinner.
      Would love to meet up with him again, must try next year when I'm in the UK.

    So how come Kenney got the boot then? It's a bit of a mystery He just wasn't with the Who one day!

    • @kevbob
      @kevbob Před 7 lety

      He wasn't booted, the band broke up after the 1982 tour. (I saw the 2 shows in Oakland; the indoor show was blistering.) They did a one off show with him at Live Aid, and one more in 88. Roger didn't feel KJ was totally right for the spot and when they reconvened for another tour in 89, he was not in that or any subsequent tour. He just wasn't asked to be involved in further tours.

  • @mrgreenjeans1794
    @mrgreenjeans1794 Před rokem

    I remember an ignominious departure for Jones along with dismissive comments from Entwistle concerning Jones drumming. I suspect the real reason was Pete's drinking problem and Jones role with that problem. Jones was Pete's drinking buddy. Townsend wasn't going so Jones' got the boot. Pete dried out the rest is history.

    • @colinmartin2921
      @colinmartin2921 Před rokem
