I expect your efforts will be farther reaching than you know, as many more people will now be able to share their favorite games and concepts from this generation with relatives and future acquaintances. We need to keep educating future generations on what came before, so that they aren't tricked into settling for the manipulative predations of greedy developers, publishers, or creators. So much creativity and wackiness will be fading into the past, but you were here to help acknowledge it and preserve it.

Thank you so much for doing this. I went from having my 3DS (and the few games I'd gotten as a teen) collecting dust on my shelf, to really getting mileage out of it and picking up everything I truly wanted (digital, physical, DLC, demos, you name it), right on time. All thanks to you, alongside some other people making similar videos over the past few weeks.
You managed to become the most exhaustive resource for 3DS / Wii U eShop information on the internet (rare for a CZcams channel to hold that title!) and I can't even begin to imagine all the work you had to put for it. You were so thorough that I'm sure this series will still be useful as general game recommendations in the future (and for those sailing the seven seas down the line), but that's just the cherry on top.
Just wanted to say thanks so much for all the effort you put into these videos. Having someone reporting so thoroughly on what was available and giving recommendations makes the closing of the shops seem more manageable and overall less sad. The worst thing is the thought of missing out on something you really wanted, and you helped a lot of people avoid that. Thanks again!

Hey just saying thanks for all the consistent videos on the eShop. Although I checked it almost every day myself, you definitely helped when it came to organizing which games I wanted to buy. Tbh no other CZcams creator I'm aware of posted this much when sales were active, that dedication is super appreciated by people like me :)
These videos have really made me regret never getting a Wii U, because clearly, someone forgot to tell the world how many classic (and hard to get) titles were available digitally for the console. Especially the classic Fire Emblem games, like, WTF? How did noone spread the word about that?
Seriously, though, thank you. I'm a poorer woman for having seen these videos, but it helped me immensely in figuring out what to grab for the 3DS before I'd be stuck paying collector prices for a physical copy. You're a lifesaver.

I never had a WiiU, and honestly aside from Xenoblade Chronicles X, the Virtual Console is the only thing I feel like I missed out on (what can I say, I have a favorite style of game and the WiiU wasn't offering enough to justify a purchase).
The 3DS though, more or less defines my experiences of the 2010s. I bought my first one in August 2011 as a birthday present to myself.
Nearly twelve years, thousands of hours, and four systems later, it has become one of my favorite systems ever.
Long live the 3DS!

I discovered so much 3DS and Wii U gems and was always looking forward to the next video; it truly is an end of an era :( When the time comes for the Playstation Store to close (hopefully not in the near future) your channel is my go-to and I know I can rely on your past videos!!! (RELATED-UNRELATED: Of all the games covered on today's video, I'd rate "Sky Force Anniversary" as easily my favorite. I almost 100%ed it on the Playstation Vita... then turned around and did the exact same thing on the Wii U within a single year. It's that addictive and fun, and I love the scaling difficulty. Many shmups are so punishing that you'll never see the final levels unless you have godlike skills. Skyforce lets you play through the whole game as an average Joe/Jane, but will really test you hard to see all of its secrets and makes the experience feel rewarding every step of the way.)
It's been a long ride... Thank you for your hard work in providing everyone with the most complete and accurate information for different regions. It has been insanely helpful and I have recommended your channel to anyone asking for eshop recommendations and the like. Obviously I'll stay subscribed so I'm curious what the future will bring! :D

My favorite games on the 3DS is the whole Etrian Odyssey series. ❤❤

Shinobi for Game Gear is another good game that I think Arthur didn’t get to cover in the Virtual Console video.
The funniest thing to me about Humanitarian Helicopter is that on the eShop, it has a app icon with its logo, but when you actually download it it looks like this placeholder icon with only “HH” on it with a blue background.

I didn't go HAM like The Completionist but I put a LOAD of games on my 3DS, New 3DS XL, & Wii U.
I want to play these games in these formats & turn these great systems into game MEGABOXES.

Hey Arthur, thank you so much for this video and your whole Playlist to help us with eShop looking. It helped me find some games that I did buy or happened to pass by some like Adventure Bar Story and Adventure Labyrinth Story. I already spent close to $40 on last minute purchases (mostly for my 3ds) but may add a little more for Pokémon Yellow because of Pikachu.

Thanks for all of the hidden gems. I've discovered so many games through you and actually hit the 300 game cap on my SD card thanks to your videos. Though, I didn't realize that cap was a thing and still have nearly 1M blocks left on the huge SD card I got for my New 3DS

Chibi Robo Photo Finder is so much better than everyone thinks it is. Obviously it’s not a perfect game or anything, but it was criminally overlooked. I enjoyed it!
nah, that game was bad especially the fact it uses the shitty built-in camera that made scanning objects harder to do
at least Zip Lash was MUCH better than this gimmicky bullshit and yet people crapped all over it because it was too different than the other games

Yo! I forgot about Picdun 2! I keep thinking it's a DSiware game, but that's the first one lol! I purchased both awhile ago and they're fine. Nothing too extravagant, but they're fun.
I finished buying all virtual console games on both Wii U & 3DS as some games that I already had a discount which saved a lot of money. Of course I ran out of space so now I got and enjoy Wii U ports on Switch. It has been a long year of journey but I’m glad that my mission has been accomplished.
I didn't know there was a cap on eShop purchgases to 200 dollars/£ a day and I was in a bit of a state of panic about missing games but if it is 5PM PST/8PM EST which is 7 hours/5 hours behind me then I might be ok to get what I want to with it closing at 1200am. I have kinda of left this a bit to the last minute so some DLCs Im just not going to get including for Phoenix Wright vs Layton and probably some of the Shin Megami Tensei stuff too. Also thanks for being super dedicated to push out this content. It wa super appreciated and you've earned a new Subscriber for it.
The cap is at any given time, in the UK you cannot add an amount of money that will make the account go over £225, but you can spend some of that, say £25 to get you to £200, then add another £25 to go back to the limited £225.
EDIT: Looking into it the cap only applies to adding funds via a debit/credit card, which prevents you adding via card over the cap. The cap is not daily fixed either in either UK or Japan.
@@starlacUK Yeah the problem I have now is I have £2.54 in my funds and it won't let me add anymore either through eshop cards or my card. Im waiting until later to try again but Im probably going to miss the 2 Ace Attorney games I want as well as a really expensive in Europe physical game.

@@starlacUK Its fixed right now for me and I managed to add my funds through Eshop cards. Paypal is just busted and isn't working for me right now.

I wonder if you'd triggered some kind of fail-safe on Paypal due to spending larger than usual amounts in quick succession. That happened to me a couple of days ago with amazon freezing my account, flagged as "suspicious activity".

Warning for those with Flipnote 3D: Apparently you have to update the game and seeing how it's not normally available in the eshop, you should make sure to update it before the eshop closes just in case.
Free updates will still be available after the eshop closes, for now.
@@MTG69 I know, but as far as I know it probably won't show up there unless it's listed in the shop. Plus, you can't launch the game without the update.

I actively went out of my way to find/get the free games and finally tried the wii u ones last night. They were very strange. Especially Humanitarian Helicopter.
Cube Shift doesn't show up in the Wii U shop for me, so it must be a regional thing. I found the other night that I had a free game called "Swap Fire" in my redownload section that I didn't remember downloading though. I can't find the "Photos with Mario" game either.
I was going to buy the Shantae games on the Wii U but I realize that I can just buy them to play on the Xbox Series X! I picked up a good amount of classic games for the Wii U for sure though!
These games were, unfortunately, not released outside the Americas.

I can't speak for elsewhere, but the redeems on My Nintendo Europe have removed Zelda Picross, Flipnote Studio and the last of the 3DS themes that were up till the day before.

My Wii U finally stated that I have reached the 300 title limit, so that's can't get anymore without deletion. Not sure what to say about the situation about my 3DS's, although, I did start buying 3DS stuff pretty much from the first day of the consoles life.
Hopefully those exclusive games, features, and content will be brought back in the future.
Unless Nintendo makes another console with 2 screens or completely remakes games to optimize on switch/future console then it's unlikely...
There are some games that were on Wii Shop even that still haven't come to Switch even though they can be very easily ported.
@@cosmicXtropics For the case of the Wii some of that may be the developers moved on since then, but yeah there is no guarantee what Nintendo is going to do.
I got Ace Attorney Trilogy, Mega Man Legacy collection on my 2ds and my final wii u buy was SMA4 with the level card mode with those hard levels
