The song is the extended version of Simple Minds "Speed Your Love to Me". Interestingly the video is taken partially from the Simple Minds videos for "Speed Your Love to Move" and "Waterfront"(the crowd shots) and "Sanctify Yourself" - the shots of Mel Gaynor - the drummer from Simple Minds .. and the brief shot of Jim Kerr flying across the stage ...- My favourite Band and I'm thrilled that this is still used since the 80s ... BRILLIANT !!!
For 1987 this ending credits was considered out there! Post 2021 it's an aura canopy that flushes out the senses both visually and audibly! It hits like a mind rush sledge hammer that keeps going until the 36 seconds are up in this vintage crescendo delight...Say what you want about the ABC of now and yes but I want RAGE to be saved because it's legacy outlives the channel itself! Pending 34 years is a heck of a long time here, credits almost brought me to tears as well....I miss that time so long ago......
When I was a kid my parents would always watch rage and well I've kinda taken on that tradition now lol. My mum use to watch it every weekend when she was a kid lol haha. But that face and the sunset at the end did use to scare me when i was younger haha.
Glad I'm not the only one who used to be scared of this outro when I was a kid lol. I normally ran out of the room or changed the channel when I knew Rage was about to finish with the top 50/20 because this would play.
This reminds me of waking up for Sunday morning cartoons, and I generally ended up watching this at the end before they started. That face at the end was weird.
I hear this all the times every weekends on ABC tv on weekends in 2015 and it makes me remind back to the 1990s. So classic and glad they have not change its style and theme and those faces. I wonder if this will still look the same for the next 30 or so years. Over all humans will be well and truly on mars.
This song use to sound like they were in a cult and trying to hypnotize you to join their sacrid tribe and the master is the man at end with head stretched

When I was a little kid I thought the face that gets stretched at the end was God, coz of all the cloud footage etc
lmao!
Geez I can remember these closing credits way back in 1995 as a 6 year old used to scare me a little back then lol

@iren461 , sorry to hear that. I lost my own mum 3 years ago myself.
Love the fact this is one of my favourite Simple Minds songs.
That video with the sunset in it used to scare me, so did the face when I was a little boy.
I'm so glad they've never changed this theme song :')
Best closing credits ever.

If It Was On ABC Then It Could Possibly Be Becauae Rage Was On After...?
This always made me laugh, still does. RAGE RAGE-R-R-RAGE RAGE!

I always wondered if the same person in charge of the Rage intro/credits was the person who did the Round The Twist theme. They sound the same.
On the same network too
