I'm going on 3 years now owning this and other Sharpal products. I've used this sharpener on a handful of tools and yet to notice any real changes in it's efficiency. Though I probably don't use it near as much as I should for optimum performance but it has gotten the job done so I've yet to find a reason yet to replace it. I don't have anything from Sharpal that can sharpen a saw but I really haven't looked at their newest lineup of sharpeners yet.
Hey bud cheers from Italy... i got a machete from a fishing site and comes unsharpened.
And (soft steel, no carbon) will need frequent sharpening.
Total beginner and i must choose a way/tool to be set, for some good time...
I like the Sharpal 112N which i guess is pretty similar, just simpler (sharpens 3 types of blades).
Now, that has one side for sharpening axes/machetes.
But what i really can't find anywhere is, what sharpening angle does it give? Some 15-20° edge angle = standard cutting, but not killer razor sharp, or 10° (razor)?
Or is it even adjustable?
I did write to Sharpal (will check if they are ever going to see it) but would really like to just ask you, bud.
I'm not finding other such reviews on these instruments really.

Thank you for checking out the video and for reaching out. Unfortunately I have no idea what degree of angle they have manufactured into their tools. They simply just stamp on the side what type of tool they can sharpen. I've looked but seems that only high end sharpeners list their angles and are usually adjustable unlike the sharpener in this video. I'll try reaching out to them and see if I can get a response.

Yeah I'm not proud of this video but it was very early in my beginnings so I definitely failed to perform all aspects of a good review. I do appreciate the feedback and I've been trying to improve in each new video.

Thank you and thank you for the support! According to their user's manual each sharpener on this tool recommends a different angle. For instance like sharpener "A" recommends 90° and sharpener "C" recommends 20°. Their website has the user manual for all the exact details.

Hey guys i've just asked a similar question (only, for the machete sharpening bit) and just now scrolling the comments (it's 5 am still dark and am having my first coffee in italy... sympathize my friends :) ) i see you asked almost the same... but more important, it looks like i can ask you, how you've found yourself using it (i mean, the angle...) and is it even adjustable??

Alright that is a pretty unique sharpener
Mine wore out after sharpening 3 lawn mower blades
wish you had showed us if it does household scissors, which are flatter

Can you use it to sharpen a saw?
I don't believe it can. I have never seen anyone else try or demonstrate that with this exact model. It's definitely not advertised for that.
Wish you would've demonstrated sharpening a lawn mower blade and then making sure it was balanced. Sadly, this review did not help my purchasing decision.

The fact that it sharpens both sides of a blade makes this a bad choice for pruners

Yes and my channel focuses on simple reviews meaning I don't spend to much time on demo. I never claim to be an expert nor am I.
