Music absolutely, their national anthem is epic so is their architecture, paintings? not impressed at all, liturature I don't know much about liturature I only know war and peace written by Tolstoi in my own language so I can't be the judge of that perhaps it is better in Russian. My mother took me to see Swan Lake at Lincoln Center in the early 1960's. I will never forget those moments sitting next to her. The music give us both breath and I shall always feel that same feeling of that night...
I saw this ballet performed by the Bolshoi Ballet Company in Moscow, on a school trip in 1972. It was an amazing experience for a 15 year old, I was extremely lucky.
Such a great experience at that tender age.

What a coincidence... I heard P.I.T. and his swan lake in the same age. Now 60 years later i enjoy almost the feelings. In 1977 i took a photo in a lake in North Hellas, where my wife Litsa and our dear son Aristotle feeding swans and their "children" in circle. The title was: Same to Same...
Now i must change the title as "P.I.T.'s Lake of Swans"...

One of my favorites when I was in middle school...those were the innocent days that I didn't have to stress about anything!
I danced to this music often in high school on stage, for most of our school programs. Including our dance competitions. Our school dance group performed many dances, but as the leader, I often performed solo to Swan Lake. It's beautiful, and is most memorable. Thank you kindly.

A great soulful piece of music. one of Tchaikovskys best works. But could never learn whether he composed this for the ballet or whether the ballet was set to this music. His range was incredible. God gave us this composer to fill the yearning of our souls.
