Thanks for watching and I’ll see you on the next project! ✌ - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I'm sorry, I forgot to remind you about the positive cover.
Love watching your vids
It's all your fault Jeff!!! 🤠
Just watching you do this to your Jeep made me want to install my battery the same way, you're the best. Thanks for all the information on Jeeps
What an awesome compliment, Thank you! best of luck on the install!
Hi dan keep up the great jeep content i really appriciate your videos. I have a 96 zj and your videos helped me fix her up and i wanted to say thanks much love for you and you family keep it up
That is awesome! Thanks Dan, Much appreciated!
Great work! Really like how you show your methods in detail.
Thanks man! I appreciate you noticing... it take a LOOOONG time to film and edit every step!
Sweet! It’s “not my crappy Jeep” 😜 Thanks for showing us how to test if it’s the alternator 👍 The weather is so nice we’re having to squint in the sunshine ☀️ 😎 Finally it’s getting warm!!! ❤️🐞
Thank Goodness! I love the spring! not the pollon tho! 🤣🤣🤣
Really like your videos. Very helpful for performing my Jeep maintenance 👍🏻
Great to hear! Thank you Paul, much appreciated. Best of luck on your repairs!
Hey Dan you forgot your cover Ha Ha !! Just kidding . Great job on the diagnostic of the old battery and installation of your new one . Looking forward to your next video . Oh by the way I use Optima battery's and they usually last me 7 years before I need to replace it. the reason I use them so I don't have any battery acid spillage when off roading . Take care and be safe sir.
I actually have a set of those terminals and always thought about using terminal lugs just like that to connect them. You just set me in motion for another project 😝
Awesome Bro!! Glad I could help!
Great video Dan, you I worked for a battery manufacturer for about five months. While working there I learned that most batteries are the same.
Wow, Thanks for the info!
I use the EverStart batts in some of my vehicles. Research shows that these batteries are made by the same company that makes some of the more expensive batteries and are just as good. Why pay more? And Walmart has a very reasonable return policy if needed. Good job 👍🏻
Exactly Paul! Thanks man!!
Hi Dan from the STL great information on the battery keep it up
Thanks brother, will do!
Awesome video. Very professional!!
thank you!
I was going to say watch the wiring on those they get bad and break all the time but you went ahead and made the next jeep owner not ever need to worry about that.
LOL, What next owner??? LMAO
You’re the man Dan good stuff.😀👍 you have to have a quality battery other wise no go.
Thanks bro! God bless!
Walmart batteries are pretty solid. Not sure if i'd call them the best on the market however I love the no hassle warranty associated with them. More or less a no questions asked here's another one-scenario most of the time. Also if you're on a road trip and the battery fails I've found its easier to find a Walmart than a specific auto parts store. Keep up the great work!
Thanks man! Walmart stores are everywhere! lol
You should get brass terminals over lead. There's some types tht are coated in gold for better connectivity. Also good idea to do the big 3 upgrade to all your vehicles as well. It's a stereo system upgrade to better your own power output. It never hurts to have more grounds.
Excellent suggestion brother!
Nice clean work.
Thank you! Cheers!
what an excellent job!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Nice job Dano..They make "Military" style terminals just for that purpose. You can get them for $20 for a pair and they both come with a rubber cover..😁😁👍👍
What!?!? That's the best news I've heard all day.
Hi Dan! Thanks for your informative videos! I've been watching them for quite a while and I like your tips, Friend! I own a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 Diesel and I wonder though if I need to use some kind of a memory saver while replacing the battery to avoid any computer settings loss and radio code? Would really appreciate your reply, man! thanks in advance! Take care!
Glad you like them! Nothing really you can do to avoid that unless you have a spare charged battery and some jumper cables you can keep connected to the terminal clamps.
Nice job! I bought a Walmart battery and was told I should have bought an Interstate Battery by a guy at work. Crossing my fingers as I haven't had a problem yet.
Walmart batteries have been proven to be one of the best!
Interstate batteries are junk. They were good about 20 years ago.
Hi from France . Thanks for your videos.I think I'll buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2002 GPL.
Thank you! God bless!
Putting cable ends on the right way! Kudos muh man! Is that an oil catch can I see?
Thanks brother! yes, its a catch can. I highly recommend you binge watching all my WJ vids! lol
Best way to check is use the voltage meter and see what the alternator is putting out over 13.5v. If its running at 12volts then it should still run without the battery connected.
Exactly!
Good job, lighting up those optima battery trolls!
HaHa! Trolls are the worst!
@@ProjectDanH They are all talk and no action. Trolls have nothing but keyboard bravado ask Shawn Garrett, he is the leader!
Hi Dan H I see all your videos and I like them a lot, you could activate the subtitles in Spanish. Greetings from Spain.
Thank you so much for watching! I will try to remember to put in my subtitles 💪
@@ProjectDanH Thank you so much. a lot of encouragement and a lot of strength with your projects, I also have a 1997 ZJ. 💪
Saludos amigo, soy fiel seguidor de Jeep también, un gran abrazo
Dan, you have International
fans 👍🏻
I watch all your stuff, but im having a hard time believing those terminal lugs didnt just fall off the next day. Im trying to do exactly this with my WJ and my wires look great, clean, good solder, flux, and the solder simply will not stick whatsoever to the copper cable. At all. I can touch the lug after it cools and it falls off with the shape of the wire in the solder, inside the lug...but wont put the two together. Never had this problem with any other copper wire.
Good video Dan greetings from Chicago, let's go white sox, dont forget to watch ⚾️ Chicago vs Yankees
2 great teams with excellent History! Americas Pastime 👍
Hello friend dan, very good videos ... I have a query my grand cherokee overland year 2.005 4.7 lts I turned on the abs and handbrake light I want to know if there is any common fault that I can review before discarding the complete module I am in Venezuela and you already know the difficult situation to get spare parts
Sorry to hear that parts are hard to come by, I find ABS lights are usually a sensor.. you can use a multimeter to test each sensors resistance. The sensor that is bad will calculate unlimited resistance
Hey Dan have you ever try a throttle position sensor from any of the parts store for a 4.0L its in my 2001 XJ
Not but As long as it works ill give it a thumbs up! 👍
Dielectric grease doesn't conduct electricity, it is an insulator. I see debate that it is better to put the wire terminals onto the cleaned up battery posts bare then add the grease outside as a water repellent so no corrosion forms.
Argument is that grease sat between the wire terminal and battery post will increase resistance , lower current flow and reduce charging efficiency but counter argument is it keeps air out :s - internet's always fighting...
In my mind its same as using dielectric grease on spark plug boots I guess where you dont want it on the electrical contact surfaces - just the rubber boot to plug ceramic contact.
Be interesting to test if any difference in readings for battery with both methods.
Correct! what a paradox!! I rather have my connections insulated from the elements as much as possible to prevent corrosion.
Good job amigo. I'm Spanish speaker sorry if I write wrong. I have a question about a jeep grand cherokee 2001 4.0L O/D button when should I turn it On or Off???
Just leave it on all the time! lol
@@ProjectDanHIs it normally on or off if I've never pressed it?
hello how to bleed the hydraulic receiver from the clutch for my zj 98 ? if there is a video I thank you.
Sorry I do not have any manual Jeeps
Спасибо за видео! 👍
👍
Battery video....very nice. Have you ever replaced ALL brake lines on a Jeep? Mine's a 98 Cherokee Classic
Thanks man... Try this .. ABS or NO?
www.ebay.com/itm/401626622396?fits=Year%3A2001%7CModel%3ACherokee%7CMake%3AJeep&hash=item5d82cfe9bc:g:5LUAAOSwlSdfKvNO
I thought my 98 had ABS...i haven't driven it for 4 years, just around my front yard, off the streets, to keep it's blood going....so, that stainless kit for 170...why are they talking about ABS or NOT
And GO CLEVELAND
Optima battery is trash, ever since they were made in Mexico. I have been using odyssey battery now. Great video Dan keep up the great work
Optima is TRASH!!!! I've heard great things about Odyssey too!
Hey buddy. XJ advice. I know you did a starter replacement video a few weeks back. Any suggestions on a replacement or anyone you would suggest that would rebuild? Mine is getting slow and it’s the original Mitsubishi. Thanks man!
Any auto part store starter with a warrantee should be fine. Good luck buddy
@@ProjectDanH ok. Thanks!
I live in arizona
Im looking at a 1988 wagoneer with the 4.0 160000 miles
It has the renix ( I don't know if its a good system or not )
Should I buy it or run?
I'm assuming since your in AZ it's rust free.. if so I'd snatch it up if the price was right
Hello i wanna ask if anyone face a parasitic drain battery from fuse 7 on wj 2002 ☺️
I wish my wife shopped at the same speed as you .
Jajaj
Wasn’t he in Starwars had big floppy ears ?.
LMAO True story!
What color is that overland edition i got a 99 laredo that is everglade pearl.
This is called Onyx Green Pearlcoat
Hey dan you forgot your red battery terminal boot for your post
Dang it!
At 7:44 the meter read .23 amps, not 23 milliamps. You are out by a factor of 10. Not a good test.
Correct, It was noted in the description.
I have a 2006 Commander 5.7 Hemi. I have a transmission over temp issue that has made me have a nervous breakdown trying everything to solve it. Any info you can help me with would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
I wonder if one of your solenoids are clogged.. I'm not really a transmission guy so if a good old flush doesn't work I'd recommend just bring it in to someone that knows about transmission and you can trust
I tried. But no one can figure this out. They keep throwing darts at the board
@@nelsontoranzo9169 It could be something as simple as a broken wire or something as devastating as a bad transmission... And unfortunately I wouldn't know the difference 😢
I always go with AC delco
Pretty Good!
Question what's your check engine light for¿. I've delt with alot of codes for my 02 jgc.
this one is just an small EVAP leak. not ready to drive into that yet. lol
@@ProjectDanH I totally understand that one. Chances are it's under the hood.
Yo Dan, you right the optima brand is garbage. I had a red top at one time but it didn't even make it 6 months. according to @projectfarm the wally world battery is actually pretty good! Keep bringing us the good content, and don't forget to give us some updates on beach jeep!
Thank you Ryan! I've had many optima batteries with many different color tops and they all died prematurely.. Never again! I'm definitely sticking with Walmart 😎
@@ProjectDanH Optima batteries are made by the same company that makes interstate
@@jeffcostello7896 general motors makes Chevrolet and Cadillac... Doesn't mean they're the same
Not saying your battery isn’t your issue but you didn’t properly load test your alternator. Battery, alternator, and starter must all be in good working order. Issues with any of them eventually cause issues with the others.
No, it was the battery.
You forgot the red terminal cover
The problem with optima batteries were bought out by a Saudi a few years ago and they significantly cut quality make Bruce Willys proud buy Die Hard batteries
Yea, since they're now made in Mexico they've been horrible
Why is the Check Engine light on?
Evap leak somewhere.. not ready to dig in there yet.
@@ProjectDanHMine has an evap leak too. Is it a big deal? Is it affecting my vehicle or something I should be worried about???
@@Or3gunsit won't pass inspection with a Evap CEL.. if you live in a state that doesn't have inspections you're good. It may cause slightly less miles per gallon tho
What year is the WJ?
My WJ is a 2002 overland
You forgot the positive cover lol
Lmao! Thanks pal! 🤣
@@ProjectDanH hopefully the new battery lasts. I got one of those walmart batteries for like 80 for a cavalier. 2 yrs running strong still.
I have had many CJs and even an old wagoneer but just got my first Grand Cherokee. I hate vehicles with ten interior lights and no delete button. I guess Chevy spoiled me. Hell I haven't had to even turn my own headlights on in a long time. I can see these Cherokee's need a major battery. The one in mine has plenty of extra space in the tray it sits in so someone skimped.
LOL, your definately gonna need to get the proper battery! Jeep life!
1994 xj 2dr 1500.00
Nice project
Awesome! Thanks man!
Agree that Optima batteries are CRAP! You really blew the proof of a working alternator. On newer vehicles, your process will cause all sorts of issues. Also, a bad alternator could possibly provide enough current to run a car at idle. You had a Multi-meter and you know how to use it. All you needed to do is show the current the alternator was putting out.
Lol, Thanks for the input. Good thing I don't have any new vehicles. lol
That is 233 milliamps not 23. It would be .023 to 23
yep! brain fart 🤪
@@ProjectDanH That will run your batteries down quick. If you have batteries dying all the time, figure out why it is drawing so much current.
Interstate is the best
probably
Garbage batteries
Had one Optima for less then a year and its crap. ☹️
Agreed!
You should have tried to fill up the water...
ok. thanks 👍
Walmart for convenience and that crappy noisy wheel that won't turn on the shopping cart
HaHa!! I always get the bad cart!
Have you been harmed by an Optima battery? You may be entitled to compensation...naaa, just another member of the "Not Optima" fan club.
🤣🤣🤣 "You may be entitles to a large cash settlement"
