All you need is a spare ignition key made and hide it in a magnetic key box somewhere under the vehicle in the frame, or I put it in my receiver hitch end opening with a wire to pull it out if I ever need it. It is mainly for when you let a female use your vehicle, that has been my experience for 45 years! Lol

I have an 01 GC, and while climbing a long steep hill, it threw a code P0432 for catalyst bank 2 below efficiency. It runs great, no miss, but I know it could be an O2 sensor. I'm afraid its the cat going out (216K) , but I don't want to dish out 900$ for CA compliant cats if it's just a sensor. Does anyone have any input or experience with this?

Mine held up for 25 years and I disassembled and moved it 500 miles to my new home, I have had NO issues with the tarp-cover tearing, possible you applied too much tension?

Taping the joints lets it hold together then its easy to slip all the straps without unscrewing constantly.

Hey Dan, been following the channel for a bit now and gotta hand it to ya man. nice work, clean channel, good tips!! I have a niner myself and slowly been building it up, and interested in some indepth mods. the liftgate glass button is a physical button that activates an electrical switch (if im not mistaken). with an aftermarket remote starter/alarm(compustar, viper) that has the lift gate release button on the remote, would have the liftgate release signal coming from the remote start receiver. what do you think, could that signal hypothetically release the lift glass? of course it wouldn't open the glass but it would open the latch so it would be free to pull open.

OK I have finally confirmed that on some 97+ XJs fog lights are infact nearly plug and play. This was first done (as far as I am aware) by User: "Yak’n-Wag’n (2001_XJ_2WD)" on the forum Cherokee Talk in 2021. The thread was called: "Adding OEM Fog Lights, Fog Fight Harness, Fog Light Relays and Fog Light Switch to Non OEM Fog Light XJ" I have now repeated that same finding and I thought I share it here. Some info about my Jeep in case the community wants to dive into trying to figure out what XJs might be plug and play: 2000 Limited XJ 4.0, AW4, 4x4 and at one time a dana 35 with ABS Did not come with heated mirrors I added those Came with overhead console Came with leather and driver power no heat or passenger seat goodies What I found was that I had terminals at the relays in the PDC and under those terminals were the appropriate wires according to the factory service manual wire diagram. My jeep did NOT have the rocker switch, fog light harness, fog lights, fog light air damn or the actual relays themselves. I simply purchased the 3 switch setup off ebay and grabbed some relays from a junked XJ. With the headlight switch on and the newly installed factory fog light switch installed I have power at the headlight harness connector (C106) on the light blue wire (fog light power wire). I am going to use this wire to control some aftermarket 3 inch cube lights in a JCR crusader bumper via the factory fog light switch and wire harness. Good luck people :)

THE RIGHT THING TO DO WOULD HAVE BEEN TO EITHER REPLACE THAT WHOLE SPACE TIRE PIECE OR AT THE LEAST GET SOME NEW SHEET METAL AND WELD IT NEW PIECE MAKING IT SEAMLESS AND FITTING IT LIKE IT CAME OUT OF THE FACTORY. YOUR HOLE DOES LOOK GOOD! : P BUT ITS STILL JUST A BETTER INSULATED AND LOOKING HOLE. ITS NOT SEALED THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. IF YOU DID WANT A HOLE THERE TO ACCESS THE FUEL PUMP, WHICH I AGREE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE THERE TO BEGIN WITH OUT OF THE FACTORY!? IT SHOULD BE DONE LIKE IT WOULD BE DONE IN THE FACTORY. COMPLETELY SAFE, SEALED AND OPERABLE WHEN NEEDED. WHAT YOU DID IS NOT EXACTLY THAT. FUMES CAN STILL ENTER YOUR VEHICLE FROM THE GAS TANK. AND LASTLY, WE ALL NEED TO ACCESS A HOLE AT TIMES! : P LOL........

Great video! Got a big question hopping you might respond. I put a 99 TJ engine into my 93 XJ, and after about a year i noticed a knocking sound, decided to do a inspection of connecting rod bearings and all where okay, noticed timming chain was very loose, soo i decided to order a cloyes timming chain and new sprockets. when i pulled timming cover off i noticed the timming chain guide was broken into 3 peices, and very hard. well, the new timming kit was missing the chain guide but my father inlaw had a spare one, also kinda old and hard. anyways finished the install and the knocking noise was gone! was very happy, and then a month later it started comming back, and now its very bad on first start up but goes away quickly once its warmed up. my question is, can a timming chain guide on these 4.0L engines cause it to sound like its knocking, if its not there?? It more sounds like a clanking noise. or is the cloyes timming chain stretched over the last couple years lol... and without the guide is rattling against my timming cover?

Believe it or not the best way to remove a hub assembly is with an old hatchet with a good wedge on it just tap it right into the seam!!!

Hey Dan! Enjoy your videos as usual. Question for the EVAP. My 2000 Cherokee XJ is running a a P1494 code showing LDP but pricy and rather not spend the money to fix and have the same issue. What is the proper way to test the system or to verify that it truly is the LDP that is malfunctioning and needs a replacement?

If you have the Limited with Quadra-Drive, It is recommended to NOT lift the car up from stock height!
