I love how this scene perfectly reflects the insanity of victor as he tries frantically to bring Elizabeth back, truly one of the best movies!
I always feel bad for Justine. She was belittled and scolded by her mother her whole life, the creature frames her for Williams murder, she’s quickly executed for it without a trial, and then her body is chopped up to bring Elizabeth back to life. And on top of that it’s implied in the movie that she has a crush on victor witch makes her body being used to bring Elizabeth back even more tragic
Death is a natural part of our world.
It’s scary and terrifying since after hundreds and thousands of years of science and religion we still don’t understand death fully and what happens after death and perhaps we never will.
But death is necessary. Death gives value to life. Without death we wouldn’t feel the motivation to live a life worth living: to live a fulfilling, deep, and moral life. Because the most important thing about life is that it ends.
So we need death to motivate us to use our life for good and not just waste away.
Well on some level Justine finally got to have her dance with Victor...
This movie is underrated
Poor Elizabeth and Justine
Honestly as cringy as this movie was it got two things right.
Robert De Niro absolutely NAILED The Creature.
It perfectly showed Victor's insanity best showcased in this scene.
Why is it cringe?
In the novel, Frankenstein is horrified of creating a female monster. The movie makes this Frankenstein’s idea.
Don't forget that at first time, Victor was horrified when the creature revealed he wanted Justine to be his bride
No it’s still the monsters idea in the movie. Frankenstein still refuses and only does it to bring Elizabeth back with no intention of making her for the creature
This is one fine classic horror movie,
Sometimes, dead is better
"Show some respect?"
"Yep!"
I’m not exactly the type to have a knee-jerk reaction and say that “You shouldn’t tamper with God’s creation” but firstly I think the domain of death should be respected and shouldn’t be tampered with in this manner. Second, Frankenstein was too unstable and obsessed to realize that bringing a person back with reduced quality of life is just torture (in the next scene she kills herself when she sees herself in the mirror).

What would you do if the person you love the most dies?
Would you bring him/her back to life even if he/she is just a husk of the person you knew before?
Or would you let him/her rest in peace?
Rest intact in peace.
@@EmilyGloeggler7984 that was Shelley's point. Though we want a person back whom we love back from the dead, they would not be how we knew them when they were alive, plus nobody, can play God.
"Let him/her rest in peace."✌
"Moral, Don't play ▶ God or suffer the consequences of your actions!"
"We can't bring them from the dead!" 💀"it doesn't work in the real world!" 🗺 "we can't play ▶ God with life and death, ☠ it's wrong to tamper with God's law ⚖ on life and death." ☠
this would've been very anti-climactic if there was no thunderstorm and he had to wait a few days for lightening to hit

I can't believe Obi-Wan did this.
This is Kenneth Branagh. The Obi-Wan ‘Ben’ Kenobi person u are looking for is Ewan McGregor. Last time I heard from him, he was working for Guillermo Del Toro in a Netflix animated movie. Pinocchio as Sebastian J. Cricket.
@@O-DogKubrick Yeah he was also Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter.
@@O-DogKubrick Both are identical.
@@cuitlahuacantonioortizsand9060 Eh, close enough.
I was thinking the exact same. He looks EXACTLY like Ewan McGregor, but it isn't him.

The funny things about this is...
Always he did this .. was always in a rainy storm night.
Always...
It was casualty the creature kills his wife the same night was a rainy storm night...
XD
I think it was a scene that never filmed, when Henry was attacked by the creature on the grand stairs after he screaming and looked up. But an deleted scenes after the house burned down, Henry and Victor talk one last time. Apparently Henry survived the creature's attack, as Henry suffered injuries to his face.
"For next procedure, I shall sew up 👆 the flesh wound and it will heal?"

1:28 That thing, is like one big egg sac or a nut sac with all those electric eels inside. Would u agree?
No the living eels inside moves. The whole pack was making with leather up the top.
0:06 there is another female body. In the deleted scenes, the monster killed a prostitute for raw materials which victor was upset and his friend convinced him to end the experiment as well alert the authorities.
That's right yes. Victor need a third intact body. I guess the organic elements inside of the body from the prostitute, of course the heart of her. Justine's body was after she was hanging damaged and elizabeth's heart was before rippet out by the creature when he jumpet over the window outside.

I do have a medical question. In sewing body parts together, did Victor take into consideration to connect bone, muscle n skin tissue in creating hus first creature n "resurrecting" Elizabeth?
They never mention it and only show Victor seeing something off screen. The fact the creatures can walk, talk and speak you have to assume he connected everything back correctly. The original book I think he used just a single body because reattaching all the tiny structures would be impossible back then and still impossible to reattach certain parts like the spine
I’m not a fan of this scene at all, if the title is “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” than make it based on the source material
This is the adaptation that closest to the original source material.
@@colinmackinnon696The 2004 Hallmark miniseries is the closest.
As "Bram Stoker's Dracula" showed two years earlier, you can do a faithful adaptation that adds a major subplot to give the material a little more depth.
