Grown men have cried listening to this rendition including me. Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. Check out his life story; it is worthy of a movie. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him live in concert in Toronto. Watching him live was like an out of body experience. The videos DO NOT do his voice any justice. Marcelito is from Philippines and yes was abandoned by his mother so lived on the streets from 7yrs old, hence no vocal training. He is self taught and now helps out charities whenever he can. He is well known for the ability to sing duets. This video is about 5/6 years old, reactors in the past have had a few million views or at least hundreds of thousands views. He is so talented yet so humble. He can sing in Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese and English none of which are his native language. He listens to songs and can learn them so quickly in several different languages. He is a gem.
I heard that he wasn't actually abandoned, not intentionally, by his mother, who went away to try and get help and more resources.

I was lucky enough to visit the Philippines in 77'. Most performers in bands about the area not only played songs but, they excelled in mimicking the bands who played those songs originally. One band played the entire "Boston" album, which had just came out, as it was recorded on the album & sounded exactly like Boston.. Every bar was like that. Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, etc. Marcelito has his own ability. The opera style is astounding. Also, the band "Journey" found Arnel in the Philippines. He was to Steve Perry as Marcelito is to Celine & Andrea.
Have you heard Reo Brothers? The Boys (siblings) was discovered 2013, they are playing renditions of music from the era of 50's to 70's. Such as the beach boys, the beatles, bee gees and so many american bands in this era. They performed in UK as tribute to The Beatles in 2014. No formal training in singing just learned musical instrument through by listening. Their father knows how to play guitar.

Marcelito was born with the ability to sing in soprano, tenor and baritone ranges and does them all beautifully. He's also singing in both English and Italian...neither one is his native language. He can sing in soprano and tenor and baritone. He also sings in 7 or 8 different language that are not his native tongue. I love listening to him - his voice soothes my soul. He makes me so relaxed on a trying day. It only takes him about a week to hear and song and then perform it in a live show on stage. He is totally a unique man who has kept very humble throughout all of this. Listen to all of the America's Got Talent - the Champions song he sang in that competition. He should have won but came in 4th. Lots of people were very upset about the positioning he received. He was not allowed to pick his song - the AGT staff told him what to sing. He is so Amazingly gifted by God and he got better and better with all of the practice. I will always choose Marcelito every time I have time to isten to anyone - I just love him!

There are more you’ll be amazed, the likes of his rendition of Power of Love, and him participation at the America’s Got Talent where he sang The Prayer; Con Te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye); and the The Beauty and the Beast. There is an American Acapella (no instruments), group called "Home Free".
5 guys who won a sing-off contest and are all great singers. Since they have no instruments, they have a beatboxer who keeps the beat, and a low Bass singer who sounds the Bass line.
You should listen to their song "Man Of Constant Sorrow" to get an idea of the group and hear each voice as they sing their part.
They have millions of followers and many millions of views of each of their songs, so I think I can predict you will like it.

Sori I'm a late comer, There many good singers in the Philippines because of the vedeoke/karaoke.You can see a videoke even in the remotest barangay on most birthdays celebration from the youngest to the grandparents. And anyone is allowed to sing.So singers can start at young age.you can select from more than a hundreds songs and the machine will show your score at the end of your song.
The level of difficulty to sing both head voice and switch to a body voice at a rapid and fluid change is extremely rare. To sing two different languages at the same time while doing that is even more rare and to sing in two different styles (Opera and Pop) at the same time is unheard of to say the least.
