I worked as a chef at a 5 star hotel in Switzerland last year and got the chance to serve him. A truly wonderful guy. He was nice to me and my colleagues

Yeah it's all scripted but at least Federer makes it semi-okay with his great charisma and natural demeanor.

His serve is pretty underrated imo. Like everyone talks about his slice and forehand, but people forget he can ace anyone.
Yeah because serves are basically universal
Actually he said "it's all in the toss" - and that is true. The more consistent your toss, the better you disguise it, the better your server will be. It's the foundation of the serve.
Doesn't sound that difficult right? Well, no. Being able to place the ball at the exact same position and being able to adjust it with weather/wind conditions is VITAL to a good serve.

One of the only interviews (and a testament to the kind of person Roger is) where the interviewee seemed 100% happy to do this. So many of the other ones give off the vibe that they're annoyed at having to answer the questions or want to get it over with as soon as possible which really makes you wonder why they agreed to do them in the first place.

This man got me into tennis. I loved watching his technique when I was a child and always rooted for him to win when he was in the semi's. I don't watch tennis like that anymore but there's always time for Federer

If anything, you have to maintain your image to retain sponsors and fans who buy tickets to your matches. So with fame, they have to be better behaved - not that I think that's what Roger is doing. He has always struck me as a genuinely nice person.

We all know his legacy is worth many billions. A billionaire would dream to exchange some of his billions for that. The love, respect glory and history both on court and off court. His net worth doesn't reflect his goodwill entirely.

Im spanish and a huge fan of rafa, but this man is the BEST player in tennis history, and the most humble. He represents the tennis valours better than nobody. The time that i've been most annoyed with a match was the final of that year (against Djokovic 2019), i still nowadays watch the game with the hope that Roger wins, but nole was mentally better that day

He won everything and still regrets losing against Del Potro back in 2009. That is THE token of the greats.
He's lost a lot of tough matches including 3 of the most painful against Novak in the 2011 USO, 2014 Wimbledon, and 2015 Wimbledon
the turning point there was when Federer led 6:3, 5:4 30:30 on his serve and Delpo hit two great difficult passing shots, the first one of them just touching the line. when i watched the match i was thinking that Federer should have won it, but the ifs never count, Delpo absolutely deserved that win, was just the better man on that day.
If you look at Fed’s timeline it’s clear that this loss took its toll. He was winning 2-3 majors a year like clockwork until the ‘09 USO.
