Dude! Bike looks sick and you have a good way of speaking about the mods. Im very excited to see more! Thanks a lot for the rundowns.
Also... who the fuck dislikes this? Lol salty trolls
You have some good skills!!! Love the video!
Wow, nice mods mate! Looks amazing. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago, mostly for offroad, and have some mods in mind, but you did a great job here. Cheers from Poland.
Thanks so much! Enjoy your bike off-road (where it really performs best anyway)
Roll on you Bears! This Vid is spinning my melon! (My son is currently a law student at Cal). Just got my Sur Ron and love it. Your Mods are mind blowing. Thanks.
Cool video brother ill be picking up the surron in the next few month
Quite the tricked out Sur Ron here and thanks for providing all of those links. Cheers👍
Nice burn out earlier bro!🤘🏽
Please do a deep dive on the ASI controller. That info is very much needed w/in the Sur Ron community! Thanks again!
Making a knowledge base for asi info as well on my website which will launch in a few days!
Good shit man!
Very very good and summarizing of your work you talk like a calibrator.
Yes Allen Hu of ERT can be a bit eccentric, hard to deal with, but he took care of me so I can relate to what you're saying It's almost like the business is a side thing.
Excellent info on the regen I did not think about that keep up the good work thanks!
O man thank you for review!
Great looking Sur ron
Outside, by himself, nobody around...
**Wears mask**
Great video ! Keep it up , quick question for you ! How are you able to ride the bike on streets without plates ? Very curious because I’m looking to daily commute to and from work everyday. I’m located in Florida
Awesome setup. Do you have more info on the turn signals? Nvm found the link in the description. Any info on the install?
Great video. Can tell you know what you’re talking about.
Awesome bike
sick video! Can you put knobbies on these instead of slicks, so we can do both onroad and offroad? If so, where do they sell knobbies for the super moto kit?
Hey Andrew - love love love the videos. So helpful and you have a good demeanor on camera. Easy to listen to. 2 things: 1. Why no belt drive? Looks like you are straight street and this would make it stealthy AF. 2. I have to say the title is a little misleading. I am totally in your corner and fully support your vids. Just a little bait clicky for my taste.
First, thanks for the support man! Glad you enjoy my videos. Second, no belt drive yet because I don't want to lose swingarm rigidity by cutting it in install the belt. Third, I totally get how this came across as click baity and I am not proud of it. I will have a video of a 90 mph run very soon to alleviate this issue, but I hear you and the many others who had a problem with this video. I am still fairly new to youtube in terms of how much time/effort I am spending on it, and I will not make this same mistake again. I am really sorry that I disappointed some of my fans.
Harris On Wheels - Not that it matters at all as I am nobody but your response just illustrated exactly why I am subscribed to your channel. You have a bright future and I’m excited to see what you create and do.
I am up late editing and just saw this comment and actually teared up. Thanks for validating my efforts, it actually means a lot. Really fun tests, projects, and product reviews to come! Im getting really excited about this platform.
awesome video! Are those LED able to connect to USB too? to a usb power bank for ie
Will a stronger headlight voltage affect my Luna suron x dirt bike battery if I switch the light?
2:40 people, get yourself a pair of pipe cutters. They work so well when cutting aluminum or steel pipes. They are inexpensive, effective, cut a very nice cross-section, do not leave any burrs.
Nice!!
Can I use a universal motorcycle light on a Luna seron x electric dirt bike
Do you have a guide on setting up the turn signals?
hey man, could you please share some info on wiring the light bar, i plan to mount one also but lack the knowledge
Wait so Does the 72v battery only work on a specific type of surron and also what else would I need to get if I got the 72v, love the content 👍
Battery works on any sur ron with a motor controller that handles 72v. Stock controller only takes up to around 70v before it throws error codes and wont run. You will need an aftermarket controller that is able to run around 80-90v to get optimal performance out of a 72v battery. A 72v battery when charged is about 82v
16:40 how exactly did you add the rear seat? i want to add a pizza rack and looks like you figured out a simple way to do it already
Happy for you, I don't know what the deal with electricrt is I ordered a BAC8000 with ERT display back in July and still have not received it and conveniently they stop answering my calls
Yeah gotta be careful of him. I've hear that exact same story from tons of people. Only order from ERT with extreme caution.
Nice ride. I have the Killah forks and wondering where you got the front fender and will it work on my forks ? Thanks 🙏
The mudhugger will work on any fork that has a brace between the tubes. I run a killah right now as well
AMAZING. what are you going to school for?? mechanical engineering? these are some great mods!
I got in as a physics major but now I'm mainly focusing on product development and design innovation. I like getting my hands dirty and tinkering, so I also spend a lot of time in the school's maker spaces (when we aren't in a pandemic)
Where did u find the 225mm rotor? I can’t find one for sale for the life of me :(
What size battery is that? I know you mention 72v45ah but that looks like a drop in and no where as big as the images from Litespeeds website. Thanks!
Nice bike do you have it unlock for more speed
How much regen current did you set it for?
change your ‘ regen brake speed’ to 9kph to get rid of the stutter. It will stop regen when the bike speed is below 9kph. Also check the negative regen ramp is low like 150ms to smooth out when regen is released.
I like the stutter. It makes it so i have abs. I run it where my regen dissables any time it sees the wheel not turning and then engages when it starts spinning again
Harris On Wheels, sure, was just a recommendation, it’s great you can tune the feel to your liking
What size is your bike's sprocket?
nice
I also live in Bay Area. I have 2 Sur Rons as well and have absolutely no programming knowledge. I have the bac 8000 with 45 amp hour 72 volt high output cells. I have been able to set my bike up with standard 60 volt pack but it doesn't want to work with 72volt battery. What am I doing wrong? Please help? I would be very grateful for any help. Thank, Rich
Hey Rich, lets talk soon I’d love to help! Dm me on instagram and i am happy to have a long conversation or even find time for a support call. I have a stable 72v build that i can share
Chris amazing video. I’d love to hire you and would ship the entire bike. You can have my DNM forks. I have all my 72v and bac8k, NXT and Botos heat sink. We need to see more about upgrading motor. People don’t want to believe that it over heats. So many things here hit home for me, especially with the passenger capability. Hopefully we can work together this winter.
Would love to talk more about working together!
@ΛΕΡΘΕΞΑΝΑΞ ΣΕΣΕΓΓΕΝΒΑΡΦΑΡΑΓΓΗΣ Sorry, I haven't installed my BAC8k yet...everything is here but still in the box. I've got a ton of other upgrades that I'm doing first and have been researching motor heat, safe max kw levels, and trying to find a tuning resource so I'm not at the mercy of ERT. Also looking at other controllers...trying to decide if I'm going to do it or sell it and get another controller. I've got a new Jade rear shock and Hope brakes coming in before the end of the month, and also got the Luna main drive chain that I'm going to do first. I'm probably going to keep the BAC8k now that I've found a good tuning resource and will start working on it in October/November.
@ΛΕΡΘΕΞΑΝΑΞ ΣΕΣΕΓΓΕΝΒΑΡΦΑΡΑΓΓΗΣ No, I don't have it but i know someone who does. I'm pretty sure you can only get that if you buy the controller direct from ASI or someone shares their credentials with you. I believe they stopped giving direct access to retail customers some time in July/August.
what is the top speed on this thing now, after the upgrades ?
And also I'm interesting in how many miles u can cover, in city rides, with average speed ranging from 30-40MPH ???
My top speed is somewhere between 80-90mph but as of right now, I electronically limited my system to 65. It gives me consistent 4.2 second 0-60 times and has a range of about 50 miles at 40mph
Just a little side note, not tryin to be a know it all, but I've worked extensively with controllers of various sizes and wide ranging voltage and current capabilities for several years. With the prices being so close, you should absolutely go with the 8000 over the 4000 if you are going to be pushing this bike at all. The reason for this is based on the hardware in general being bigger and beefier with better heat dissipation along with the ability to better handle voltage spikes. In these systems particularly with regen, you can have massive voltage spikes. Even though they may only be 1-2 milliseconds in duration, they can cause a lot of damage over a relatively short time. I will be adding as big of a capacitor as I can fit to help mitigate this as well
I am aware of the 8000’s superior heat dissipation, but have never had problems with voltage spikes. I’ve logged my data riding before and voltage was looking totally normal. Id be curious to investigate this phenomenon you described. Could you give me a bit more info as to why this happens? I just want to be as well informed as possible on these controllers
@@PITprojects hey brother, so admittedly most of my experience is in the RC realm. Vehicles of all types but mainly FPV race drones over the last 4-5 years. I'm newer to the ebike scene, but the principles of electronic speed controllers is much the same. I have drones that pull 3-4 times the amount of current that the Sur Ron does in its stock form, but they can't carry anywhere near the amount of battery payload. So, the problem that comes into play is "Ripple Current"- see attached video. czcams.com/video/kdkNX7RwEiQ/video.html . The first 5 minutes are pertinent to this discussion despite the fact that he is talking about rc applications. After that, search CZcams for " Voltage Spikes and esc's" and you will find plenty more on the topic. But don't get me wrong, I'm not insinuating that your 4000 is no good or that its gonna blow up tmrw, rather just an observation of the fact that the internal capacitors could suffer heat soak this degrading performance. Also, you could potentially see early wear over time. I'm in no way putting it down or anything like that, hell I don't even have mine yet(hopefully next week...lol)
First of all, thank you for the resource and I also fly fpv drones. I will be posting sur ron chase footage soon. I believe I understand now the concept that others have also been bringing up and will explain my mistake in my next breakdown style video. I am likely going to compare a bunch of controllers as well and test them for a set tune and log efficiency. Thank you again for your comment and I hope you subscribe for some sweet fpv shots with my hero 8 and vortex 285 🤙
Hey bro what's your wheel set up on the yellow one? Those are some thick tires I'm looking for mine?
Supermoto tires from lunacycle they are a 17inch set
Your BAC 4000 heat sink is probably heats up less due to the color and more to the fact that you painted it so it not transferring heat to the air as efferently since its also being absorbed by the paint.
you got to make a tutorial on all of these unique upgrades😁
Yeah agreed
For real my guy said he gonna post some like in 4 weeks, 7 weeks ago 🤣
@Ahsham Nasir I posted a Raw Ride video but because I was away from the bike on the east coast, I could not finish the tutorial. Now I have 90% of the video done and am doing the rest this weekend. Rest assured I will make the tutorial. I would like to apologize though. I don't want this channel to be a platform of empty promises and will do my best to meet the demand of my audience. I am stuck in a house in Berkeley and have no excuses (taking a light course load in school too).
Also in regard to tutorials on the other mods:
-The controller and it's installation will be covered in an asi controller deep dive. The first half of the video will be physical installation, wiring, and peripheral inputs/displays. The second half will be a software deep dive explaining the majority of settings and tuning parameters.
-Wheels and brake rotor installation were detailed in my maintenance tutorial and will not receive another video unless I have a cool new part to install or do a different than traditional braking setup.
-The rgb led lights will be briefly covered in my incoming lighting tutorial. I will also be gauging interest to see if people would want custom plug-n-play (99% just one single cable splice) lighting kits. I have materials to make them and would source any headlight, taillight, or turn signals that people would want. I would also create mounts/brackets for installation. All of this will be in the tutorial and the kit will soon be on a website.
Thanks for watching my videos and keeping faith!
@@PITprojects I appreciate your hard work man, really look forward to your mods, I understand we all are busy, just keep up the good work, if you could, show how to install the turn signals. thanks once again
Never NOT worry about getting hit on a motorcycle. It helps to ride defensively. Like the yellow color on your ride
Oh believe me, ive been driven off the road by a prius before, i know motorcycles are all about being defensive! Needed my lights and colors to stand out when riding at night
Hello Harris
Regarding the floating disc rotor, can you post a link to the spacer used for this disc rotor?
Also if there is a vendor for the disc from America, that'd be really helpful since the shipping cost more than the actual product.
The spacers I used I sourced at my local ace hardware. they are half inch steel spacers with enough interior clearance for an extended M6 bolt to fit through.
Unfortunately, i shipped my rotor from europe and paid the hefty price...
I wouldn't even worry about the regen on these things. Another CZcamsr coasted down Pikes Peak..14 miles from top to bottom and only regenerated 2% of battery life.
Which youtuber? I actually saw a great increase in my range especially in hilly Berkley when I started using regen more frequently. I almost never use my rear brake now, except while in a wheelie lol
Is dans sin tech controller more powerful then the 8000 controller?
I am unclear on this one. I will be testing Dan's soon though so stay tuned!
Is your battery 72v 45 ah? In lite Speed Bikes web seems doesnt fit like the stock battery and Need adaptor 🧐
I have the 30ah battery. Not the 45
Harris On Wheels okey look at this battery: www.zemso.eu/Surron.html
Love seeing it come together! Whats the Facebook group?
Asi Powered Sur Rons, Sur Ron, Sur Ron Owners Official, and ERT Buys Gone Wrong
@@PITprojects hey bro what happened? I bought a bac4000 on july and nothing yet!! Alan told me that he was going to send but nothing!!
I guess ert done goofed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ @eegb87 request/demand a refund if you never received the product. Also join ert buys gone wrong on fb. Lots of people in the same boat as you
@@PITprojects yea bro! I have waited for 2 month now! Few weeks ago he answers me on FB and told me that he was going to send it the next day but for my surprise he didn't!!!! I bought this controller because @HadesOmega recommend ERT online store on his videos and i make and order for the BAC4000. Now I am making yoga!! 🧘🏽♂️💆🏽♂️
You sure that’s an extended front MudHugger? Looks like the shorty.
For some reason it looks like it's on backwards? Might just be me
where di you get the 72v battery?
Litespeed bikes link in description for one of their batteries
What kind of range do you get with that set up?
MKRVisuals depends how you ride and and what power I have it set to. Generally on stock power I saw about a 2x range increase, but the way I ride on high power is only about the same as stock range
👍
I'll take it! Do you ship to Sweden 😉
I wish! Hahahaha would love to cruise around beautiful Sweden!
Wish you lived in my area! I would be going to you and begging you and paying you to help mod my surron lol
Happy to still give advice! Reach out through instagram and im happy to help
@@PITprojects now I have to get instagram! Lol
Set up a neutral and reverse? Really? Didn’t know you could do that
Awesome video what's your Instagram
How does a student afford a $7000 bike ?
Jack cecil has the fastest surron..
We will see about that lol
@@PITprojects He has the bac is 8000 so it doesn't seem you have a chance according to his dyno numbers.
Berkley ??! Hope that bike has a leftist opinion I wouldn't want it to get banned!!!!
No it’s not. There’s atleast 10 with higher rated kits built in the UK sold by us alone and around another 30 from other sellers.
It’s a nice bike but this new “look at me click my likes” craze is annoying. Just a headline grabbing title
Francis janssen i just realize why you were hating on me in the facebook group. You are the ERT UK distributor. You just don’t like the bad review because it hurts your business.
Francis janssen also if you can find another sur ron owner running 24.6kw, who weighs as little as me, and who runs the same gearing as me, then he can be “the fastest.” I’ll have video proof in a few weeks anyway so keep a little faith. 😁🤙
@@PITprojects 😱🔥🔥
I thought Jack Cecil was the world's fastest Surron he's encouraged anyone to challenge it lol with verification
@@alexs5373 His is still the fastest on record. Waiting for Harris's on road speed test🤗
I had the first batch 60 volt sur ron..the thing with these bikes they don't have a fit anywhere except urban riding. They are too big for true single track bike trails and too small for moto style trails..I ended up putting about 3500 in uogrades just to get it strong enough to ride off road. I ended up selling and buying a true off road mx bike for same price.
