@@DespicableBunny there is another Alpha Strike Jolt he's reviewed and the pocket strike looks a bit like an Uppercut, so you're probably just getting a bit mixed up
I'm honestly all for budget blasters since I often can't afford other blasters, but what the heck have they been doing with Alpha Strike? Why are there so many oversized Jolts and other useless blasters?
Claw is not that bad for one particular reason (well combined 2 reasons). What it has going on for it is almost a zero price AND the spring access is actually very easy (just de-latch the back plate and press the trigger to remove the plunger) with one particular benefit. The plunger is actually the BODY of the gun which in turn makes it very resistant to forces of heavy springs. The catch is VERY beefy, and as the plunger/rod is very sturdy, even more if you use hot glue to reinforce it, it gets beyond possibility of damage... it can take a really, really beefy springs as a result. Obviously longer barrel would greatly benefit it but I just use short darts. AR is handling a heavy upgrade well, surprisingly. I managed to experiment with some heavy spring and it made mine into an actual monster. I was getting 90-110 FPS with normal darts and over 120 with half length for under a fiver. Power per money is through the roof with just a very simple mod.
What's mind-boggling to me is that when I followed the uppercut link to Amazon, I saw that the Jolt was actually cheaper! Over $5 for the Uppercut? This is why Nerf's competitors are making such inroads. Nerf is bereft of innovative ideas, apparently.
My younger cousins have the vanguard and the optic. The peg on those two in the barrel is different from the elite ones having 3 wider prongs instead of four. They damage my wafflehead darts when I use them so I refrain from using them

There is something so funny to me about this channel starting as a Nerf review channel and now being more of a showcase on how literally every other company in the field does Nerf's job 50000x better than Nerf ever could because they are too busy making cheap garbage for people who have no idea about the hobby whatsoever.

I came for the group review, and stayed for the existential crisis. Also: is Hasbro serious with the Vanguard? That has to be one of the worst blasters they've ever made. Why make a single-shot blaster that is even remotely difficult to load?! But it's not even satisfying to do so like the Mando Rifle.
Past a certain point, this line seems to be about selling something that kind of looks good as a gun to pretend like you're shooting stuff, but which happens to actually maybe shoot one dart

Im a claw fan boy so i disagree with everything almost he says abt the claw, im 6’7 grip isnt as cramped as he says it is i think the quadrot is ugly & over priced for what it does and the claw is way easier to mod

Coop, I just want to let you know that I have never played with a nerf gun in my entire life, and I have no interest in nerf guns, but I've been subscribed to you for ~4 years now simply because of your obvious passion for what you do and the consistency and quality of every review you put out.
The fang in my country has had that grip thing for years now, but i do remember seeing it without the plastic grip thing but that was like the very beginning of the series
Personally I like the claw, I have one and it’s a good blaster. It is powerful; light and I got it for £7. The only reason I don’t use it in nerf wars is because I have a triad and it’s minus one dart but is way smaller, so easier to holster.
I feel The upper cut would be better if the Hammer was on top. The Qs 4 style blaster are great if you get them cheap (I got mine for £3:50 each) Cheaper than a jolt and has more shots than a triad.
I'm so glad they fixed the reverse bear trap that was the original Alpha Strike grip That being said i will probably buy an uppercut just for the novelty...to punch darts somewhere in the general vicinity of someone could be really fun
I can already tell that if I was 30 years younger, I'd have been an 'Alpha Strike' kid, and would have tried to convince myself that the Alpha Strike blasters at least shot as well as their more expensive counterparts.

God forbids me getting one of these for my daughters. Especially that clamp looking "Uppercut", when there IS a Jolt that looks like that. If you want good old Nerf, try eBay. That's how I get my Rayven for modding.
I have a story for this chat! So a few years ago I was in a Nerf wars afterschool program, and we were playing a mafia game where whoever was the mafia had to shoot everyone without people finding out they were the mafia. I was the mafia and about 7 or so people were sitting in one room, and when I entered they realized I was the mafia. I was somehow able to dodge all of their bullets and tag every one of them with my Rival Hypnos! That day was my favorite Nerf moment ever! I still love the Hypnos to this day and I hope anyone reading this has a great day!
Hasbro is really trying to milk the same type of 4 barrel Smart AR blaster, or the QS-4 type of blaster until it dies. Not only have we had the Fang QS-4, the Claw QS-4 and the Optic QS-4, all in the Alpha Strike line, the Elite 2.0 line brings 2 new blasters with the QS-4 model name, the Prospect QS-4, which is like a Fang/Claw but with a scope and the Tetrad QS-4, which is a much bigger blaster than the previous 4. It has pump action, places for a sling and a stock which is part of the mould. It also has 1 N-Strike *tacticool* rail. These things make the blaster a primary-looking rifle thing instead of a secondary pistol. In fact, the Tetrad doesn't really fit into any class of blaster. It has a part of everything.

I wanted to see him fire the uppercut by starting with his arms out stretched and then slamming his hands together to depress the plunger like the Hulk or an anime character releasing a superpower. It seems like a perfect design for a Nerf rocket-launcher or mega darts!
I don't think that Hasbro should stop making the Alpha Strike series, I just think it would be better if they would stick to making Alpha Strike versions of already existing blasters like the Flyte (Stryfe). Just make the cool blasters, but cheaper versions that at least have a chance of holding up against more expensive ones in usage, even if they're made of a cheaper plastic/mold, and don't have as many attachments or features. I think having cheaper, kinda crappy, versions of GOOD blasters is better than making a bunch of new cheap crappy blasters.
For NERF fans the Vanguard doesn't make a lot of sense, but I could see my sister getting it for my six year old nephew, and it looks enough like the bigger blasters to be cool to him, but it's simple enough that he can play with it without constantly needing help reloading mags or clearing jams like he does when playing with the ones in my collection. Low maintenance little kid fun, y'know?
The uppercut is a good joke/meme weapon. If you show up to a competitive match with that in your back pocket and manage to get a kill, it'll be the best kill you'll ever get.
It looks like Hasbro had the Vanguard as a flywheel blaster (cuz of the cutouts in the barrel look like they would fit flywheels), but then they said: naw we good, thats too much money, then just made it a single shot blaster.
I had the claw QS-4 before and I modded it into Han Solo's blaster. A few weeks later,my friend who is a big Star Wars fan,got that blaster for his birthday. Buy all of the alpha strike blasters from Walgreens,these are more powerful than the ones from Walmart or target

I was actually planning on getting the Vanguard because of its looks, but that's it. I didn't think it was a SINGLE LOADER
I think the uppercut is meant to be pounded on the floor given the angle of the blaster as a last ditch shot from the ground

I think there is an 8 shot alpha strike hammer action but I don't think it's very good

Just make the cool blasters, but cheaper versions that at least have a chance of holding up against more expensive ones in usage, even if they're made of a cheaper plastic/mold, and don't have as many attachments or features. I think having cheaper, kinda crappy, versions of GOOD blasters is better than making a bunch of new cheap crappy blasters.
For NERF fans the Vanguard doesn't make a lot of sense, but I could see my sister getting it for my six year old nephew, and it looks enough like the bigger blasters to be cool to him, but it's simple enough that he can play with it without constantly needing help reloading mags or clearing jams like he does when playing with the ones in my collection. Low maintenance little kid fun, y'know?

The uppercut is a good joke/meme weapon. If you show up to a competitive match with that in your back pocket and manage to get a kill, it'll be the best kill you'll ever get.

It looks like Hasbro had the Vanguard as a flywheel blaster (cuz of the cutouts in the barrel look like they would fit flywheels), but then they said: naw we good, thats too much money, then just made it a single shot blaster.
I find Alpha Strike kind of charming as a line, just because I kind of have a thing for using stupid blasters.

I had the claw QS-4 before and I modded it into Han Solo's blaster. A few weeks later,my friend who is a big Star Wars fan,got that blaster for his birthday. Buy all of the alpha strike blasters from Walgreens,these are more powerful than the ones from Walmart or target
