- I've got detailed PLANS for 3 sizes of this bed available here! bit.ly/3BQhp4X
Today I'm showing you to build this EASY Bed Platform with materials from your local home center! I love how simple and easy the project is, but also minimal, modern and attractive. If you dont have a table saw, you can build this whole bed with just a circular saw.

Outstanding! I love the simplicity of the design and it's warm visual appeal.
Thank you so much, Leah!! Your view and sweet comment mean so much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This is exactly the style of bedframe I wanted. I can't wait to try this over a weekend!
Great! So happy you are going to build it! Thanks for watching!
how did it turn out? thinking of giving it a try myself.
@@01hondascott same Im gonna ask my shop teacher if I could use some of the tools
My bed frame is broken so I’m gonna have to send this to my dad😂 I love it ❤️
I've been looking for a simple, yet robust, platform bed frame to make and I think this is the best one yet. I think I may try to put the rails a bit further down so that the mattress is not as tall, though. I'd also like to add some 4x4 legs to raise the best off the floor a few inches so the vacuum can get under. Thank you for such a well explained video!
Great! I think those changes should be no problem at all. Thanks for watching! I'd love to see a pic of your bed when you get it done!
I love it, is just what i need for my room.
Finally something we can all actually try to build, looks great 👍🏼
Thanks! You can totally build this. I hope you do!
Me and my dad built the exact type of bed frame a few years ago. We never screwed in the mattress support parts in top, as I wanted to use the underside for storage, but honestly it's the one of the most strongest bed frames I have ever owned. Highly recommend this DIY!
Yeah great idea on the storage! Thank you!!
I like how sturdy it looks. Simple build too
So clean and simple, plus it can be disassembled if need be. Great project!
This video is informative and has a good pace. Well done!
Thank you so much, Bernie! I really appreciate it :)
Loved it! Woodworking + shallow focus shots = cream of the crop
You're the cream of the crop Justin
There is so much beauty in simplicity. The bed is very nice.
I'm heading out to travel and am going to build a bed just for my size; it will need to have storage under it. I think I need boxes laid sideways and support in the middle, but not sure how to do it. Guess I need to keep looking!
Excellent. Thank you!
Simple and beautiful
One of the best diy vids I have seen, ty.
Thank you!
Yaassss. Awesome job on the video Erin
Thanks Buddy!
so simple .. so beautiful 💛 thanks

Such a simple guide/build, easy to follow and the result is amazing! Good work will be taking tips from this one, thanks
Thanks so much!
Simple and beautiful. Really nice 👍🏻
Thanks so much!
Simple yet so nice and strong, thanks.
Thanks for watching!
This was absolutely fantastic! I was looking for something easy and could possibly making a smaller variation of a twin. It would make for more space in a 1 bedroom apartment. Thank you very much!
Wonderful! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the video, all available and understandable.
Thank you!
Thank you so much! It looks great!!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Wow that's very nice 😊.

Thank you so much :)
Thank you for sharing, I believe I'm going to take that project on
Yay!!
I am loving this. And even with my 2 cent experience it looks doable. One day when I am done making it for my girls, I will send you the picture... Thanks a lot for sharing... 🤩🤩🤩
I love it! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Looks awesome Erin, great job! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred!!
Such a "simple", clean, and stunning design! Amazing video as always! Do I spy some Alma squares?!?!
Aw thank you, Ethan! I really appreciate it! And yep.... you can spy a killer Alma square from anywhere!
This was awesome!! 👍 I’m a tradie and I learned something new from this video, you using circular saw with square. Great idea 🤙
Oh cool, glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
interesting to see easy to apply durable strong king size to deep sleep for single & double Best wishes I am glad to see this video
This is the best diy bed frame in the world
Thanks! I agree 😉
I woke up and my back hurt from my mattress on the floor, i decided to just go to home depot and buy everything for this and build it. I watched this video twice and just built based on my own knowledge without the plans, its great, it looks so good on the ground and it feels so sturdy. Thank you for this idea! I been wanting to make something like this for a few months but never got around to it. Thanks for the inspiration
Ah that's so great!! I'm so glad to hear this! Thanks for the feedback and enjoy your new bed :)
WoW! So easy
Sometimes simpler is better... nice video.
Agreed. Thanks!
It was really simple and very interesting to see....thanks for sharing

Thanks! I agree. Clean and easy!
Excellent work.
Thank you!
I loved this video, I would like to see a basics that covers tools and etc.! Maybe a look to beginning woodworking 😇
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind :)
I truly appreciate this!! I want to get rid of box springs that are creating a lump in the middle of my King mattress! Thank you!
Doing my part to help get rid of terrible box springs everywhere! 🚫 Thanks so much for watching :)
I love how simple, yet elegant this frame is! It looks great and is certainly more robust than the ugly metal boxspring frames!
I've never seen the quick clamp miter saw stop block before - totally using that!!!
Just found your channel and am excited to follow along on your future builds as well as checking out your past content!
Joshua -- Gander Flight
Hey thanks so much Joshua! Really appreciate the kind words and the follow!
Going to take this design and try to add a cat maze underneath! Will add size holes for ventilation, too of course :)
I love it! 😻
This is very cute.
It may be a simple design but it looks good! And no crazy joinery to worry about. I like it!
Thank you Sharon! Much better than the mattress on the floor, which is where it was haha.
@@MakerGray Been there! Done that!
awesome project!
Thanks!
it is amazing, thanks excellent video.
Thank you so much :)
Thanks!
Thanks so much! I super appreciate it!
many thanks from Egypt
Thanks for watching!
Maybe it's just me but I think you're a minimalist. Like how you keep it simple and just about enough.
I agree. I definitely think of myself as a minimalist also. I like it simple and clean. Thanks!
Great plans, super easy build. I added five, 6" legs to allow for storage underneath and to raise the overall height. Bye-bye crappy box spring.
That's a great idea! Thanks!
Awesome!!
Thanks!
Freaking amazing!! I love this, thank you for posting!!!
Thanks for watching!
@@MakerGray You're welcome. I bought the bed plans too--thanks again!!!
Thanks!!
Nice work!
Thanks!
Simple but awesome like it 👍👍
Thank you!
Nice!
Great Video!
Thanks!!
Looks good. You have a nice shop.
Thanks!
This is perfect! Hoping it’ll work with a twin bed 😅🤞
Thanks! It will totally work with a twin bed. It'll just need some easy measurements adjustments. You can do it :)
I wish there was a place you could buy jointed and planed wood so you don't need a $800 of tools just to start doing carpentry
Just rent the tools
IKEA 🤣🤣🤣
You wouldn't save any money because paying a carpenter to make them would cost more. The reason these aren't readily available is because it isn't worth the time it takes to do for sale.
S4S (surfaced 4 sides) lumber is jointed/planed. It costs a bit more, but it is available.
@@codacreator6162 Thanks!!
very cool!
Thanks!
Great Video, Nice Build... Kool Dogo👍
Thanks! She’s a good assistant/supervisor
❤ Just wanted to say clean simple and clear video...I'm a woodworkers granddaughter so that's saying something 😂. PS I LOVE YOU WORKSHOP BENCHS!!🎉
Thank you!!
Yayyyy! Beautiful job; now Gramps won't have to sleep on the floor... ;-)
Hahahahahahaha thanks B!! 😘
Thanks. Are tou planning to do some container bed with gas lift mechanism, and raised from the ground? Thanks!
Thank u so much
This is my next project!
Yay! It's a great project!
I definitely would round those corners if I built one of these!
That’d be a cool look
I cam for the bed idea...but I learned so much watching you.
Yay! Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Good job.
Thanks!
I can’t wait to try this I’ve been looking for a demonstration so I can build this to replace the slats that hold my mattress up. Mainly bc I want a higher bed but I also want to stop my cats from crawling under the slats on my platform bed
Great! I'm glad you're going to build it! Thanks for watching
Well done!! it's great to see a woman doing diy.
Thanks!
You are creative , 👍
Thanks!
Using the pocket hole jig like that has seriously blown my mind, for some reason it's always been stuck in my head that it has to be attached to the bench. I feel so dumb lol but thanks for the inadvertent advice!
Haha no way! Don't feel dumb. It took me a minute also to realize that it would work!
Really amazing work, minimalist aura that this build has is amazing, can you share which type of wood is this?
Thank you! I used a very easily accessible framing lumber pine wood from Home Depot. Inexpensive, sturdy and I prettied it up. But you could definitely use a nicer wood.
Great vid
Thanks!
I know this video is 4 years old but it so relevant today, February 10, 2024. My child desperately needs me to make this. I looked at your plans (thank you) but I see there isn't one for a full bed. Will you suggest the alterations needed based off of the twin or king that you have plans for? Thanks so much.
Really nice bed! Wich kind of wood do i use best?
Would it be strong enough to make this out of spruce? Also, do you think it'd be a good idea to add ventilation holes or legs so there is fresh air under the mattress?
I'm glad that I found your video and ended up purchasing your design!
Edit: Also, what's that right angled piece of wood you used to help you clamp the 2x12s together? Looks handy to keep it together when drilling pocket hole screws.
I want to do this so bad but don't have the tools 🥲😢😭 so simple, clean and beatiful. Love it.
What a great bed frame I hope its as easy for a king sized bed im going to try this soon just adjust my size of course .ty for the great tips and ideas ... Will you be making a head board for the bed if not any ideas for one by chance?
Great! I just recently created build plans for a King size if you are interested: bit.ly/3hZXQCx I do not currently have plans to build a headboard, but you never know! It could happen. Thank you!
WHAT WHAT!! 1ST! Such a cool bed and comfy too!
GURL you KNOW!
Love the bed frame but not as much as I love your dog tattoo!! How sweet
Aw thank you! Memorial to my best friend :)
Looks great!! and a lot like the one we made! Lol great minds think alike. great work!
Awesome! Yours is super cool too! Thanks guys!
Good video
Thanks!
That came out nice. Quick question though....have you seen the HD jig that Kreg makes, that's specifically made for putting pocket holes in 2x material?
I haven’t! I need to look into that
Would you be able to add California king bed measurements?
Find build plans for 3 different sizes of this bed here! bit.ly/3BQhp4X Find more house project tutorials here! bit.ly/3h6bml2
How do I find dimensions for king size?
Call me Mabie introduced me to you via the documentary about you. Great Stuff! I think your doing so great and look forward to watching more of your videos. I'm a CZcams maker too and so I love getting inspiration from other makers.
Hey thanks so much! That's awesome to hear and I appreciate it!
I want to make this!! I wanted to buy a new bed but but then i saw this and now i'm gonna make my own bed 😂
Go for it!
Loved the video. Thanks. (Still don't know how it is possible to drill before you drill (pre-drill) but liked the video).
Thanks! Pre-drilling a pilot hole (with a bit) for a future screw ensures your wood won’t crack.
I got the blueprints and I'm trying to do it.
That square jig for clamping the frame together is a good idea. Did you make them yourself?
Thanks! My friend Alma at Pink Soul Studios made it. I've got them linked in the description for ya.
Nice project for a guest bedroom. Ima Gunna steel that idea ya know! Only thing I would add is rounded corners... Me thinks toes in the dark would thank you for it. ;-)
Haha good call!
for the foot of the bed id highly suggest taking the extra time and cutting the boards at 45 degree to have a nice clean corner
Nice please tell me which water base finish u use
I have it linked in the description for you
Where you bought your wood and what size are they
Question about wood movements. Wood expands and narrows depending on the season. DOnt you wory about cracks and so on?
I don't. This bed is in a climate controlled space. And there is no glue on the main joints, preventing the wood from moving very slightly if necessary. It'll be fine.
