I just need to save a little more and of course talk to my work to see if it is possible to be off for so long. However, it’s not always good to having so much time off for any jobs in Japan because they expect you to work so much with little time off & if you do want time off for so long, they have this thing that makes you feel like you have to quit if you went so much time off. Of course not all jobs but quite a lot. It’s annoying but luckily some jobs are okay with it.

I have booked a trip Tokyo in September but then found out that Japan does not allow tourists unless it is a guided tour booked by a travel agency. Grrrrrrrr. I am now having to cancel and go elsewhere.
@@reinascully Me too. I am beyond disappointed. I really want to visit Japan but looks like now it'll be Rome. Athens, or Dublin. All 3 are amazing places to visit but I had my heart set on Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. 😭😭
August is tough in my opinion. I would personally wait on Japan to make the official change because there is a chance you may still have to apply for a visa during August even if the group tour aspect eases up.
Japanese restaurants has been selling cheap food from Fukushima for tourists for years. Japanese actors who supported crops from Fukushima by eating them got sick and died already.
Unfortunately, tourists need a visa to come to Japan right now (normally not the case) and you need to be part of a sanctioned tour guide / tour plan group that dictates exactly where you can go, what you can do, etc and you have to travel in this group during your entire visit. It's honestly kind of awful, BUT a solid step forward in Japan opening their borders fully.
So 3:03 Ill be travelling around Japan with a buig suitcase soon, will I need to pay an extra $5 every train? Or it it just more convienient? I was hoping to go on the twice a day slower trains as well!
I highly recommend it, however you don't HAVE to. If you only have ONE big suitcase, I don't think it would be a problem. BUT a lot of the trains get quite crowded and you may end up having to stand with your suitcase in between cars because suitcases cannot be left unattended and seats are always prioritized by people so you can't have your suitcase take up seating space on a crowded train.
Is it true some places/stores in Japan don't allow foreigners in? Friend of mine said he went and it was weird that some places denied entry due to being a tourist/non-japanese.
This is unfortunately true- it's not that common anymore but if you go to rural areas, there are some restaurants that refuse service to non-Japanese patrons. Honestly unacceptable, but the reason behind this is because those places don't have anyone that can speak English (or anything other than Japanese) and cannot accommodate foreign patrons properly, which potentially leads to problems like not being able to understand / communicate food allergies.
No need to apologize, senpai! Anyone of us who had to travel during these times are all begrudgingly accepting of mercurial government COVID policies. Checking regulations each day for any momentous changes is recommended practice these days.
Japan just recently had their elections, and it doesn't look like they'll be opening Japan to independent tourists anytime soon. The government is still promoting the 'package tour's' with authorized travel agencies. From all the vlogs I've been watching about Japan reopening, they all say the same. Since they stated Japan has reopened its borders, they have not had any tourists arrive in the droves they're expecting. On top of that, they're advising not to visit during the summer as it is very hot. Here in the Southeast U.S., we get those temps frequently, so it won't be an issue for some. From what I can see, Japan's tourist industry will get hit hard again.
It's gonna be busy at first, crowed, everyone trying to get to Japan. We left Yokota AB 3 weeks ago because of military orders. Yes, we are back in the war zone called America, what with all the shootings and stuff, catalytic converters being stolen, high prices everywhere, housing crisis. We already miss Japan, much safer there than in the states. But, needs of the Air Force applies and so, back to the states. Hoping Thailand opens soon, Wife has family there, so we'll have a reason to fly back to Japan and get a long layover, ha ha! Then eventually to Bangkok
I hope you guys realize the real reason that Japan is still mostly closed off: Politics and xenophobia of media/elderly of foreigners. If you actually know what's going on in the world, it makes sense as to why things are still closed, but people don't like to do their own research. Here is some food for thought. The first "variant" was called "delta" that came and then after that, they said it mutated and turned into the "omicron" variant. Guys... It's an anagram. Delta/Omicron literally spells "media control." Do you really think that's a coincidence?
will go back when the mask insanity is optional (like in almost all the other countries of the world) so I can breathe like a human being when I'm like hiking the mountains of Japan for example :)
I feel you- it's kind of a nightmare especially during the hot humid summer here. However, masking is quite optional already in Japan, it's just that the vast majority of people here choose to continue wearing masks, so I feel like not wearing masks will be an extremely gradual change here and it'll be hard to pin point when there's an obvious "switch"

Do you happen to know if I can Transit from Narita to Haneda going to Philippines?
A lot of people on my flight transferred to Philippines; they were let off the flight first and were ushered by airport staff who helped them submit & organize documents for their next flight.
I have booked a trip Tokyo in September but then found out that Japan does not allow tourists unless it is a guided tour booked by a travel agency. Grrrrrrrr. I am now having to cancel and go elsewhere.
I'm so sorry! I completely understand your frustration. I'm hoping that the guided tour aspect changes after this summer, but one can only hope...
@@reinascully Me too. I am beyond disappointed. I really want to visit Japan but looks like now it'll be Rome. Athens, or Dublin. All 3 are amazing places to visit but I had my heart set on Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. 😭😭
@@ahmadsamadzai8255 I'm literally in the exact same position. Going to London then Italy instead. I'm so pissed I did so much research
@@maillardsbearcat I decided on Italy.
I’ve booked a trip in august and I live in Canada, y’all think i should rebook? or do y’all think Japan will be easy on tourism in a month?
August is tough in my opinion. I would personally wait on Japan to make the official change because there is a chance you may still have to apply for a visa during August even if the group tour aspect eases up.
Japanese restaurants has been selling cheap food from Fukushima for tourists for years. Japanese actors who supported crops from Fukushima by eating them got sick and died already.
Greetings from korea 🇰🇷
Where in the USA did you go?
What do they mean by group tourism?
@@reinascully @Reina Scully Thanks, very helpful I'll bear in mind :) I'm mostly looking at shorter journeys so standing is a fine backup!
@@reinascully I get it, completely understand it’s just sad from a perspective but you can’t accommodate everyone. Thanks for responding!
No need to apologize, senpai! Anyone of us who had to travel during these times are all begrudgingly accepting of mercurial government COVID policies. Checking regulations each day for any momentous changes is recommended practice these days.
I'm aiming for October, but I'd rather not do there forced tourism thing....but I'm desperate to the point of just doing it if I have to xD
How’s the planning going? I hear they’re opening up in October

How much are the fees?
When I went testing to enter US was about $120 in Tokyo each person and coming to Japan was $125 in NJ
I'm trying to make it by 2024 but 2025 is looking more realistic, due to finances
Giving what Japan has already announced and done, most are not as optimistic as you.
