I always look so forward to your blogs. Bringing us through Japan, showing the culture, the food even the transportation. I think it’s awesome that you’ve socialized with the older ladies to go to task on such things like making pickles, that’s awesome! I grew up on the Jersey Shore. So we are both from dirty Jersey… I’m also jealous that you have older family to do such things with! Thank you for you

I was able to buy my mother the Naku-miso base when I was at Don Quijote Hawaii. The store imports from Japan and you never know if it will be available in the future. My mother(originally from Tokyo) was so happy. I bought 3 bags for her to share with friends, but she refused to share! Yes, Japanese watermelon is expensive, but the best! I was in Iwakuni years ago, the clerk marked down a hand full of ¥1500 grapes to ¥500. I couldn’t buy them out of guilt. I felt so sorry for the locals paying such a high price. You made a beautiful dinner. Thanks for such a great video.

Okinawa is part of the Ryukyu Islands, so the label was trying to be more inclusive than just shouting out to Okinawa Islands specifically. If you meant "Okinawa Prefecture" it's basically the same as the Ryukyu Island Chain (long story short: you weren't really wrong at all!).

You know more or less of me living in Okinawa Sensei Reina for so long & the Shikuwasa aka Shekwasha is a flavor that… I can’t fully get on board with. I tried to use the juice & it was so bitter that I couldn’t get into. Maybe I should just use some juice when I cook VERY SELECTIVE things… I enjoy your videos when it comes to the music too. Makes it very soothing along with the recordings.
The only thing about the traveling to come here is that yes it’s open but from my understanding is that any foreigners who do not have a visa or is a citizen has to go through a tour group only. Which means I cannot see my family at all if they come even if they are on a tour group. I tel everyone to stand by for a bit longer until Japan can have more relaxing rules traveling here.
