  • Lakers fans are now left to ponder the implications of this family affair. On one hand, the prospect of seeing LeBron and Bronny share the court is undeniably exciting and a potential marketing boon. On the other hand, some worry that the decision may have been driven more by LeBron’s personal wishes than by the best interests of the team’s future.
The top name heading into Round 2 was Bronny James who was selected No. 55 overall by the Los Angeles Lakers to play with his NBA icon dad. LeBron James has commented consistently over the past several years that he'd like to play with his son before he retires, and heading into his 22nd NBA season, the NBA's all-time leading scorer has gotten his wish.
During the second round broadcast, ESPN's Bob Myers reported that James family agent Rich Paul is telling teams Bronny doesn't want to play for not to draft him, or he'll go play in Australia instead.

LeBron being player coach and GM. There was only one successful player coach in the NBA, he wore #6 for the Boston Celtics, Bill Russell.

Bro, it’s the 55th pick in a draft in what is considered very weak pool outside near the top 10. 1. We got an arguably around top 5 -10
@ 17 who by the way is considered the most polished offensive player in this draft. We won the draft because of this pick. Late second round pick picks hardly make it into the NBA or get little to no playing time historically. There are very rare exceptions, but anyone you get at this end of the round is a filler for your G squad at best. I’m sure if there was a impactful player they would have taken him.
    2. I have two words for you “Pat Riley”. Like Pat Riley, JJ Redick is a student of the game. He’s always been a smart observant son of a bitch baller. Just by listening to him, you can tell he’s going to be an X’s and O’s guy, buy putting his players in the best positions based on their talent. He will Maximize our shooters and our play makers. More Austin pick and rolls with Lebron, more corner 3’s, faster offense, using clear statistical data. Actually giving playing time to our best players and lineups. Something Ham seemingly did by accident near the end of the season, kinda.
    3. Lebron is taking a $20million pay cut to get impactful players to fill out the roster. DeLo opted in. We’re keeping Max. Players are excited for Redick. Because at the end of the day, we just got Pat Riley 2.0. A young former player, who is smart, tenacious, and will stand up for his players.
As born and raised Los Angeles Lakers fan, and basketball fan, you should be exited. But with your take on the situation, you lost me.
