Leogang whips up a race of twists and turns during the UCI DH World Cup finals! With slippery dust from start to finish, a winning run required precision riding, while really pushing the envelope on one of the fastest courses of the season. It was Loic Bruni and Tracey Hannah who perfected that formula on the day! Eliot Jackson takes us through the excitement from Austria.
All eyes were on Tracey Hannah as she took to the course. The last rider down the hill was gunning for it from the start and pushing even harder than in qualifying. The Australian rider was supremely efficient on the flat-out sections of the track and clean in the trees, taking chunks out of Hoffmann's time at every split.Hannah crossed the finish line with a time of 3m 42.107s and celebrated an emotional fourth World Cup win.
Fastest qualifier Greg Minnaar, 21 times a World Cup winner, was the only man left to try and better Bruni's time. From start to finish the result could have gone either way, with Minnnaar just a fraction of a second slower at each split and gaining speed as he progressed through his run. Bruni was literally on the edge of his seat in the finish arena - Minnaar had been strong at the end of the track in qualifying, but the veteran racer couldn't quite claw it back. He crossed the finish line in second place, an infinitesimal 0.3s behind Bruni, who threw his arms aloft in celebration of his second win of the season.

The last time I looked at downhill was over a decade ago, when Peat and some robot Frenchman were the leaders. Some South African called Minnaar was an up and comer.
My favorite game at play station is bike downhill very interesting dangerous in mountain treks.

That was such a great race to watch! .3 of a second, amazing!! I've got to say tho, I HATE the "blind spots" that RedBull can't put cameras in. How many people crashed but no one knew till they popped out with dirt on them? Come on Red Bull, you can do better.
Unfortunately the "blind spots" will always be there, since the start intervals are shorter than the race runs. That means that there are two riders on the track at the same time and it's not possible to show the full runs
The chain tension on some of the bikes is freaking me out...

Are we just going to pretend that that terrible camera view from the back of the dirt bike, during the live feed wasn't a thing? Come on Redbull... Its 2019 and drones are quality and cheap now.
Cheap drones are not able to stream video at 1080p that easy, moreover, you need qualified staff to do this and obtain required permissions depending on the country. Nevertheless, they should consider recording the vital parts of the track
I understand that drones have different rules and advantages/disadvantages. However that dirt bike cam was distracting and definitely not worth the cut away because of the poor shakey quality. Anything would be an improvement o er that.
The coverage was amazing form everyone involved. Pre, during and post race. And it is free.
Tbh, it was a bit bumpy. I enjoyed that angle and any angles in the future are only going to be better. I’m sure red bull learned a lot about what works and doesn’t doing filming like that and can’t wait for them to imposible even more for the next race
As far as I remember the footage from the dirt bike was quite good last year. Would be interesting to know why it was so shaky this year. A few years ago they had a cable cam after the stump section (back then it was the wood section).

Trans people should compete in their own catergory. They have an unfair advantage when competing in womens category. I don't agree with IOC/UCI ruling. If it was as they say then we would see trans athletes competing in mens category, and being sucessfull.
As it stands now I view it as cheating.
Announcer is not my favorite. Dont need over hyped oratory to keep me excited about racing. 👎 great coverage though.
