    This was perfect for what I was looking for. Your explanation of the microkorg functionality was really easy to understand . I just got one and I find other videos hard to follow regarding it. Do more on the MicroKorg please.

    Great informative video😊Thank you👍👍👍
    (one note for those, who have iConnectivity MIO USB/DIN cable as I do..the connectors are meant to be connected IN to OUT and OUT to IN, i.e. opposite..not so easy to find out if don't know😀)

      The two MIDI connectors for the Roland um-one will tell you how to connect the cables. Each connector has the words. “Connect to In” and “connect to Out” displayed on the ends of the connectors. You are correct, most cables have Only “IN” and “OUT”. In this case, the cables are connected to the opposite of the connectors status.

    Hi, I am curious if you can use the Microkorg’s built in synth sounds to record and play music with on GarageBand for iOS and how you would go about doing that. I use GarageBand on iOS to produce music, but find Garageband’s preset sounds to be lackluster and unpleasant. It’d be awesome if I could create my own synth sounds using the Microkorg and record those very sounds onto GarageBand on the iOS to use, compared to only using it as a MIDI keyboard for GarageBand on the iOS. Thanks for the info, Very helpful video btw :)

      Here is one way. I think you may need an audio interface for this...

    Hey, so im trying to connect my microKorg to Garage band, but is their a way to just have pure sound coming from the Korg to garage band. I see that its just taking sort of a sound from the korg and then converting it to the garage band sound such as the piano you used. But is their a way to use the presets on the korg and then just use garage band as a recording software for making music?

    • @ChannelofRichPierik
      @ChannelofRichPierik  Před 4 lety

      Ah. What I showed gives the ablility to control the ipad... (send key press and other midi data) to the ipad. The keywords you need for your search are "line in" recording. You would likely need an "audio interface" compatible with your ipad. Good luck and I hope this helps a bit. Cheers.

    Not sure what your definition of vintage synthesizer is, but the microkorg came out in 2002, which doesn't exactly scream vintage...

    • @ChannelofRichPierik
      @ChannelofRichPierik  Před 5 lety

      I concede. My attempt is to show that there are options if one does not have USB port. Other than a DX7, this is the only other keyboard I have that qualifies in that regard. And i really wanted to highlight the arp! Cheers.

    • @ChannelofRichPierik
      @ChannelofRichPierik  Před 5 lety

      If you do that you will not hear the ipad sound through this output. The midi cables transfer key press information. Does that answer the question?
