The mount for the shark fin can get in the way, especially with the included pinion gear. I use a lightweight steel one that allows you to mount it past the mount. I'll check what size I ended up running in Blinky. I suspect that a smaller spur will allow you to mount the motor further forward and avoid the issue. I'll have a look next I have it in my hand!
Thanks for the comments. The kit came from MB Models, they're also the distributor for Yokomo and carry lots of spares. I'm sure your local hobby shop would soon stocking parts if they become popular! Upon building , I see that The kit uses BD9 wishbones, hubs etc. Transmission is pretty much all BD11/BD12 with the exception of 2 Differentials, rather than one diff and a spool. I'll be doing a follow up video shortly with the built car, then planning another as it goes through its first race day. I just need the body painter to get finished! (It's me and I've not had chance! Lol!)
Another great video!! I don’t actually have a touring car in my arsenal at the moment and would definitely consider buying that to get out for a run at UMCC 😊 Maybe your son would let me take it for a spin some Saturday before or after the races? 😜
It got a run around on Tuesday night. First impressions on an unprepared surface were really good. A very positive front end and very drivable. It'll be out at the next UMCC, so make sure you grab the sticks from me.
