  • Today we are going to walk from Mellieha centre to Ghadira Bay.
Mellieha is the northernmost town in Malta. Its elevated maritime position, being surrounded on three sides by the Blue Mediterranean Sea, gives it magnificent views all around. It is about 150 metres above sea level and it overlooks the beautiful sandy beach of Mellieħa Bay.
Ghadira Bay: Easily accessible, this spot is a favourite with families, who tend to stay out for the day. There are sun beds and umbrellas for rent, but there is still space on this wide beach for anyone wishing to bring their own equipment. There are plenty of snack bars and small cafes and the beach offers different types of water fun, such as pedal boats rental, parasailing or large floating play areas

Great video, I lived just around the corner from the church for 3 years, stunning scenery, a lovely reminder of how unique Mellieha was. Hope to get back soon for holiday. Thanks for sharing.

So would this be about a half hour walk? And on the way back could you take a bus or taxi? I know the town is quiet but is there at least a bar or two for an evening drink? Thanks.

I think the answer is yes,yes and yes.
I used to live there for a year. In winter time it is quiet but you will have some bars open. You can take the bus/taxi, we used to walk up there.

Excellent video - would you say there is much to see at night in Mellieha?

      Thank you very much.
Generally Mellieha is a quiet place. During the festas it is loud of music and fireworks.

We are staying at seabank hotel. Anything much to do around (going in march with 2 kids). Worth hiring a car?

      Hi,
Sorry for the late answer. For kids the Popeye Village is definitely good program. It is about 1 km from the Seabank. Lot of good restaurants, walking, hiking paths nearby...
The car hiring is a good idea however if you want to visit Valletta/Three Cities the bus and a small ferry are more than enough. Seabank has a bus stop in front of it. Using Bolt (kind of Uber) can be a good alternative. The driving could be a stressful thing...

@@MaltaWalks are the ferries open for business in this off season? Wanted to see the caves etc and blue lagoon (not to swim obviously just sight seeing).
