Felix, great boat! I used to build lightweight kayaks from wood strips, canvas and that cheap thin plywood that folks would use to "Fake" panel their basements back in the 70s and 80s, so I know how satisfying it is to see a plan in your head turn into a boat. I was a skinny kid and needed a finished boat that was lighter than your boat probably is. I suggest that you attach a keel down the center of the boat's underside. That will keep it tracking in a straight line instead of have the bow swish back and forth with each paddle stroke from left to right side.
The Cajuns, here in the US, build boats that are similar to yours. They're called Pirouges. They are typically made with sheet wood and I believe that the bottoms are slightly concave to trap an air bubble under the boat. It's supposed to allow the boat to travel in shallower water and reduces the friction with the water so that each paddle stroke propels you farther than would be the case in a canoe. It does make them more tippy, though. They get around that by using a length of pipe near each end of the boat and fastened it to the bottom, sticking straight up to the top of the boat. The bottom of the pipes have to make a watertight seal to the bottom of the boat, because the next step is to drill down through the pipe all the way to the water. I know, sounds like a bad idea to drill holes in a boat. LOL, but after that, when they get to a shallow fishing or hunting spot in the bayou/swamp, they can push a metal rod down through the pipes and into the mud and the boat won't flip when they shoot at flying waterfowl or when they set the hook on a big bass and have to fight him into the boat.

Hello John. Thank you for your super interesting tips. I did a canoe trip over 16km. I didn't have the problem with the boat making waves in the water. On the contrary, I struggled to turn it around. But I'm still a beginner in paddling too. A friend accompanied me in his canoe. He had trouble following me because my canoe glided very well. But the weather was perfect. no waves no wind.
@@FelixImmler It may be just an issue with kayaks. They have a shallow draft and maneuver very quickly. I know that the people who use touring kayaks on lakes and in the ocean will deploy a fin-like device to straighten out their paddling. Were you familiar with the pirogue and did I explain the pipe gadget well enough for you to visualize it?

I have a buddy who paints his boat with regular household (oil based) gloss paint, then he uses it all summer and repaints it each fall just before storing it up for the winter, that thing is going on 25 years strong!
