    why people think Tommen's suicide is funny? It's really sad and depressing. He was sweet and innocent but being a king destroys him. He was manipulated and lied to by all people. The only choice he made for his own is killing himself. And the fact that he's just 15 that moment and jumped off the window without second thought breaks my heart.

    • @danielwilliamson6180
      @danielwilliamson6180 Před 7 lety +25

      Scarlet Witch, I did not find Tommen's suicide funny at all. I was real shocked when he killed himself. I felt really sorry for him. He tried to be a good king and do what he thought what was best for the people. Cersei took everything away from him. I like to believe Cersei deliberately drove Tommen to kill himself so she could seize The Iron Throne. I think it would make more sense about why Ser Gregor stopped him from going to the Great Sept and Tommen witnessing The Great Sept's destruction. I don't think she ever had any love for him and she shown no grief, no sorrow when he died. She knew he was going to die and she allowed Maggy the Frog's prophecy to become reality. The only people Cersei ever loved or cared about was Tommen and Joffrey. Poor Tommen. Cersei is truly the Mad Queen.

The Sparrows movement is the closest thing to a communist revolution in Westeros, the poor rising against the upper class that ruined the lands and their lives and held them accountable for once! Plus, it is a fantasy setting where religion actually has a proof to it like the red god bringing people back to life and the weirwood trees in the north and others!

      The nights watch oath.
      Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold. The light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men, I pledge my life and honor to the nights watch for this night and all nights to come.
      It mentions death twice. Technically Jon did die. So he is out his oath. He is not a deserter.
      This doesn't make complete sense. The north's apparently know about it and accept it. Ummmm okay....
      If he does become king in the north in the books. It will make a lot more sense.

    Just have to comment on Jon's battle scene. The director didn't go the easy route of using hundreds of cuts then pasting them together into a simulated impression of battle. They took the high road. They carefully choreographed the fighters, then filmed the action from a fixed point for a long duration. It is just gorgeous to behold. It was really well done without the need to fake it.

    This might be a coincidence but Walder Frey's death made me think about the story we heard told in that "haunted" ruin (with the well that Sam and Gilly climb up through when they meet Bran, Rickon, Osha and Hodor). The story as i remember was that the owner of Lord of the castle killed his guests son and carved him into a pie to serve to his father and his punishment was to be cursed and become a big frog for killing guests under his roof. This sort of reminds me of Walder Frey's death. He killed guests under his own roof (The Red Wedding) and for that Arya carved his sons into a pie and served it to him before killing him. Like i said, it may just be a coincidence, but I like to think that his death was supposed to resemble that story.

      That's the way George likes to write those books. They are foreshadowing what will happen later on in the books, and even in the TV series. As I seem to remember, Bran told the story of the Rat Cook to the Reeds and Sam and Gilly. Apparently he had served an Andal king a pie containing bacon, but also the king's son, in revenge for a wrong the king had done to him. The gods were angry, since he had broken guest rites, he was changed into a rat, and condemned to eat his own sons.

      I'm with you. Dany's been my least favorite character (she was alright in the beginning, but then... her choices as a ruler + the machinas she's given began to irate me), but other than that, she serves a purpose. I liked her a little better in this season since it was less Dany and more getting some power moves in place for the storyline. I'm more invested in Dany's court than Dany herself, and frankly, Dany would be nothing without them.
      Cersei, on the other hand, has become my favorite (as well as Yara and Sansa, but they've always been my personal favorites!). I enjoyed her play immensely, and I can't wait to see more in the next season. If she can plan this, just imagine how she'll handle Dany, the Sands, and the Starks (as well as the anger of the people)!

    • @UndeadTurning
      @UndeadTurning Před 8 lety +4

      I think Dany is just GRRM's personal insert character. Lot of good books have fallen prey to that one shitty character you can tell is the paragon of the authors internal values.
      I'm actually more interested to see what Snow does with the Northern army. Far as I know, he has no real reason to march on the south, for everything that it is worth, other than to force the other armies to form up against the white walkers, but I see Sansa ordering the attack for vengeance (she is still technically the warden of the north). More importantly, I wanna see Snow slay Dany's dragons and lob off her Mary Sue head. But that's just wishful thinking. I don't even like snow. My favorite character was Tyrion until he pledged allegiance to Mary Sue (Dany). I have nobody else except for Little Finger (I admire his boldness if nothing else).

    • @wangdangatomictango
      @wangdangatomictango Před 8 lety +7

      I gotcha! Jon's personally my favorite, as well as Tyrion! Like I said before, the only saving grace is really Dany's court. They're really the ones setting up everything for Dany to make the 'bold move'. Almost all of her decisions have lead to a mess for someone else to clean up. Which is a real waste of potential to make Dany far more interesting beyond magic.
      Oh well, like you said: we've pretty much have the other storylines to see how they turn out! If you don't mind me asking: which power play is your favorite in the season?

    I didn't realize until you did the side by side pics that in that Winterfell tree scene, Sansa is in Ned's place and Littlefinger is in Cat's...the southroner that never understood the North. I think this is beautiful symbolism showing that Sansa, who has always been more Tully than Stark is finally embracing her northern identity and Littlefinger is going to underestimate her.

    lol imagine Jon inheriting the Targeryen blonde hair. Stoic Jon snow with flowing golden locks. Pretty lucky he ended up looking so much like a Stark or Robert would've pressed hard about who his mom was.

    • @Tortroz08
      @Tortroz08 Před 7 lety +1

      RushGamma thats up to interpretation. The show wont care but it will be a big deal in the books "I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." With the key words being ALL NIGHTS. Different characters will have different opinions on this.

    • @RushGamma
      @RushGamma Před 7 lety +7

      Well you could also say the key word being LIFE, and he did indeed give his life for the watch. It's all semantics at this point. Jon is king of the north so HUZZAH!!

      ***** But that is exactly what I am trying to say, the oath can be interpreted in so many ways. Re: Tyrion's devotion to Danaerys - it is as well to remember (and this is brought across a great deal more forcefully in the books) that Tyrion is and always has been fascinated by Dragons, almost to the point of obsession; they were the focus of his childhood fantasies and daydreams, and he voraciously reads up on any literature about Dragons. Recall that when he went to release the Dragons with Dany absent, they declined to burn him alive; a courtesy not afforded to all.
    A further point - though I believe this to be rather speculative - is that there are suggestions in the books that Tyrion's mother (reputed to be a great beauty) may have had an affair whilst married to Tywin, and Tyrion is not in fact a Lannister, but has Targeryan blood (hence why the Dragon never killed him, and his innate fascination with them). Intriguingly, Lord Tywin at one point actually says to Tyrion that he only begrudgingly accepts him as a Lannister because he could not prove that he was fathered by another.
