@Tigris Montague Hey ya pal! I gave you a shoutout on Episode 1 of The Goalkeeper Club! ;)
@David Haynes I have struggles on making myself dive and trying to block hard shots. I find them especially hard because diving on grass is not very confortable and hard shots can hurt quite a bit if they are hit strong enough. Please help.
I need help i always let goals in

Don’t beat yourself up about it. It’s happened to me before too I’m sure

@@shot_girl0948 not when I got scored on, when I got scored on, I only had probably half a week of training and played on a 25 meter field.

It doesn't matter how many you save they will see you as a kepper by your mistakes - casillas
casillas sayed that not neuer
very true my friends sometimes don’t appreciate what I save they blame me on losing the match.
Bro I make so many saves I'm even known as best gk at my school yet I get blamed for everything they do bad
@@Meme_Slayer9000 me to bro 😢
Bro, Casillas said that.
It's good to be reminded of these things. My hardest has always been accepting that a goalkeeper can be beaten. I've always looked back at any goal I'velet in whether it was or wasn't through a mistake. I just cannot accept being beaten and always feel that I should have done better. Therefore looking back at a previous save is always a good thing and to give yourself a pat on the back for the great save.
I've always been one to let in the simple and to save the impossible. One of my greatest saves ended with me in hospital with broken ribs and a collapsed long. The forward came down with both knees on my side, got up and walked away. Watching the vifeo footage afterwards, I couldn't see why he hadn't jumped over me. I guess those are the breaks of being a goalkeeper.
I struggle with knowing where to pass from a goal kick.
Hey Brett! That depends on a number of things including how your team like to play. Do you have a coach? And things like how comfortable are your defenders on the ball. If they are then you should be confident to play short. Other factors that could influence this is the state of the game, how much time is left? Is it an unnecessary risk? And simple things, like does the defender want the ball short - this you can ask, if he says yes then trust him, otherwise go long.
Ask yourself these types of questions and you'll make the right decision. Safe hands Brett!
@@DavidHaynesGK thanks David :)
Pass to Centre backs
I'm struggling with diving on my weak side
@@benmac797 just freakin send it man. It you have the instincts you need, your mind will do the rest. Try to focus on them not scoring rather than form and such. It's what helps me, at least when my defenders stop them from shooting every 30 secs lmao
Thank you so much I watched this video just before my game it went into penalty shootouts and we won 5-4 I made a save on there third penalty
Thnks so much. This video helped me so much. I made my debut for my school yesterday. We beat another school and we beat them 1-0 then we beat our schools A team 1-0. Proper positioning and pre game stretching
Yes!!!
pre game stretching is something not many people talk about, not something my team does a lot of either do i have to do it before leaving for the match/training
I'm 35, never neglect stretching and rehab. I overplayed months ago and my back is still not 100%. Get yourself heat packs, spikey balls to loosen those tight muscles
Get regular massages, learn about muscle groups
Massive shout! This is so very true and really really important.

I struggle while catching the ball coming little fast, i can block it but always have to worry about rebounds then. Can you please give some tips on how to make a proper catch?
THANK YOU

I'm watching this to feel better. Just got done with a highschool game, was held down by other team's forward as she "fell" on me and was having "trouble" getting up. They didn't score on that, but I almost bashed her face in. So I'm here to become better and make sure no other team scores and if they cheat like that, they might catch a couple elbows.
Thx bro
I have a big game this tips are very good

Im struggling with the same thing, as Im more of a goalline reflex save maker. How far do I go outside my comfort zone?
@@lordchaos7274 if no one has answered your question lol, I usually like to go for the ball if it is in or near the 6 yard box
I am pretty cool with making aerial saves, but I struggle with grounded shots near lower corners and also from gripping issues.
Same but my gripping is the worst
Grounded shots are confusing lmao
TOP💪🔥
These same techniques were in the unisport video as well. Good tips should work for all.
Hi David, first of all beautiful video as always.
Second, I need an advice, because during a match sometimes I find difficult to remain focused. How do you do it?
Hi Ettore, great to hear from you and thank you for the compliment!
David Haynes I don’t know, but during some games I feel likenI can catch everything, and during other I feel as if I’m slowed, as if I could have done more
@@ettoreminoja8630 Ah, I see.
That happens to all of us, there are days when you feel unstoppable and your confidence is high!
Other times it just doesn't happen, sometimes you don't even jump, or react how you'd like right?
The best advice I've found for this is try to keep the same routine for when you do play well. Try to do the same thing before games and training. It will also have a lot to do with your mood, so I always try to liven myself up and reset my mood if I've had a bad day at work/school.
Always try to think back on the positive moments. Some people even have a mantra that they repeat to themselves to keep them focussed... They repeat, 'I'm number one, nothing can get past me'... They keep saying that over and over again it keeps you focused and positive. Try that and let me know how you get on!
Safe hands pal! :) x
David Haynes thank you so much, helpful as always. Keep it up with your videos, so happy u’re back!
Greetings, good David. I wanna ask you, im struggling if someone dribbling and then shooting to my near post. I think im bad at positioning. What should i do to improve my positioning? Thank you so much.
Lovely 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the tips but something I actually need is training positioning because every time it's on the sides and they shoot they always score
Hi David. Your video helped me. I need a bit of advice. I struggle to dive on my left hand side because I am right handed. Is there any advice you can give me do I can improve my left hand diving
It’s hard to save when players pass and shoot
Very usefull tips but you forgot some ones so important and that make difference...
* develop your both feet skills for controling and passing, short and long... foot technique is fundamentall for modern gks.
* Positioning is a key... before moves! Adapt your position horizontally and above all vertically.
* Manage your stress and emotions. Keep calm and determined, to allways take right decisions...
* weigh risks and aim for security...
* develop your tactical skills for defensive and offensive game phases, distribution...
* foresee and anticipate. The gk has to make plans, imagine quickly all possible cases and find answers to each one. Be ready for any situation
make a video about ball distribution from keeper's point ..plz
I like this
Need tips on how to make a better decisions. I believe Being a goalkeeper decision making is very important..and so i need to improve. Please help 🙂.
I'm struggling with 1 on 1's and the confidence that comes with it
Hi David, specifically for 5 a side - what is the best way to improve decision making/distribution?

Hlo brother i have been playing goal keeper since last 4 years and this upcoming 17 its the most crucial game for me and by the source i knew that the oppenent striker is really good and has a good power kick what should i do to save those kick
Please reply me brother
I struggle when players take it round me
That's a tough situation, if the striker has enough time to do that then I'd question where the defence is. Best way to avoid them taking it around you is to come out quickly and put the striker under pressure. Commit to it 100% and get a hand on the ball., just be careful not to give away a penalty.
David Haynes thanks
Can u please tell me which is the best ready position
AHH! Just the video I needed, but why don't you record yourself? I haven't seen you in a long time... I'm struggling with high jump dives and the decision to go for a split save or catch a ball with my hands when it's coming straight to me
Glad you like it and find it useful!
I will be filming myself a bit more, although I think this is a pretty generic video and the pros can demonstrate things better than I could.
I'll be filming more of me in the Goalkeeper club series that'll be coming out later this month!
Ah, that's a tricky one. It's always a challenge to decide what technique to use. It's very dependent on the situation.
You get better at making that decision with practicing more... over time you'll know if you can catch it or have to block it away.
I think if it's coming at you try to catch it, practice that over and over and you'll become a very safe and reliable keeper!
@@DavidHaynesGK I also have an awkward startle reflex, which makes me flinch when the ball is shot really fast, how do I overcome that?
@@jojoliterally practice. Also, oddly enough you need to get hit by the ball a few times in the chest. You'll soon overcome it when you realise if youre in a good body position it won't hurt you. Until you realise that on a deeper level you'll continue to flinch.
Perhaps even as an exercise get someone to hit it at your chest at 50% power and let it hit you. Obviously be careful but it will help you realise you're tougher that you give yourself credit for :)
I’m struggling with my feet do u know any drills to improve that

David ,I want to ask that what is the best position to defend ball when stricker come to you and that time what is the best thing to do ( please answer my questions) love from a begginer goalkeeper

How to build courage and be an active goalkeeper for the whole 90 min. Game?
Hi I’m struggling with one on one’s saving the ball just seems impossible what would be your number one 1 on 1 tip
Hey David
First of all, I watched your channel for the first time and it was a good experience
second of all, I am 14 and got a chance to play my first match but I missed an easy shot
how do I get over it and start my training with a new mindset
Lol, same bro. I’m also 14 and I made my first appearance in goal on Friday. I made some really good saves but I missed an easy shot. Just forget about it. It’s okay. We all make mistakes, yours are just more obvious because you’re a goalie. But the reason you have a shot taken on you is because your defense made a mistake too. But you just have to forget about it, and remember that you can’t change what’s already happened.
Bro I am lllllll😂😂😂😂🎉
How do you protect your hands/Wrists I have torn a ligament in football a week ago so I’m taking a break from goalkeeping and instead working on shots and goal kicks. These seem slightly common in goalkeeping so what are some tips for protecting your wrists and hands.
Me too my ligaments also got a little torn
Can you tell me how to position in every match or training
im struggling with my diving speed
i wanna become more agile
could u suggest a workout session

I'm a cf but i train my friend everyday as a gk and he is improving and i was a good gk too we practice 2 hrs everyday alone
I have a weak side and i am to scared that I will hurt it, because it is my dominant hand/arm. I am fine diving on one side, but not the other. Do you have any tips?
I always struggle with getting down low fast even tho I am smaller than a lot of goalkeepers what should I do to get down for a dive faster
Please solve me how to Tackle a 2vs1 situation, please David 🙏
