Because the chinese army is not in Team Yankee that's interesting. Something for your "tank museum" at home. Will be interetsing to see if the other models out of scale too.

The other models arrived this week. We’ll see what they’re like.

Got a few in the pipeline. They are difficult to buy in Australia.

Thanks you. It was something different. Bit of a change of pace.

A nice look in the box Harry. Isnt 1:72 associated more with 20mm than 15mm (I think its actually 1:76)? Might be why its big for 15mm 🤔
Also "why might get invaded by these guys" is the most interesting excuse for kit buying i have ever heard 😂😂😂

Hey Callum. This is a 1/72nd scale kit (supposedly) so it is 20mm. I felt like a change of content for this one - plus it was the only smallish-scale option for this subject. However it is also over-scale for 1/72nd as well. It is huge. I just bought the company's T-90MS kit and it has much more realistic proportions. I should have included a shot of this tank next to a 15mm kit and another 1/72nd kit. It's double the size!
And we do *not* say our biggest trading partner might invade us. We just take a keen and active interest in their expanding military capabilities. Friendly interest.

I think this kit isnt actually the 4D Models version, as that one doesn't have decals, but has a star painted on the sides of the turret. This one looks to be from XF CC Lee Models, which is apparently the same company, but a better quality version of the 4D Model ZTZ-99A. I have the 4D and the kits look very similar on sprues, with the 4D having painted detail, shinier plastic and comes with a metal wire. The product box is also different.

Forgot to add, the 4D Model version also doesn't seem to have a hole at the end of the barrel like your kit does, it is solid at the end.

It's likely you are correct. The marketing wasn't easy to follow, and the seller didn't include a box.

Just need it in 1/100 scale

      That would be nice!

    What about 15mm for TY?

    • @FogofWar
      @FogofWar  Před 8 měsíci +1

That would be nice, but the only 15mm versions I know of are 3D printed. There’s no plastic 15mm ZTZ-99 commercially available. I’d buy one to review if there was.

I don't think that they will do it. Remember he did a video, a while back, of a box set released in china? That had East and West Germany. No way would they allow the game to be sold in China, if China became a faction in the game! Just take a look at video games or movies. It is all about pandering to china!

    Not my scale, but interesting.

Given the odd proportions, it isn’t anyone’s scale! But, jokes aside, I haven’t done 1/72 in a while, so a fun change.

'Served china well;...yes, the PLA made good use of tanks at Tienanmen Square until thwarted by the mighty MANBAG (man with plastic shopping bag).

China has since spent a lot of time and effort developing counters to MANBAGS. Why do you think plastic bags are being phased out? Environmentalists? Bosh! It is all a cunning strategy to leave the West defenceless trying to hold back Chinese armour with paper bags.
