    The only criticism I have is that the ship isn't rocking correctly from port to starboard. The roll is too quick. Since the ship is larger, the roll is slower and deeper. Also, the alarm isn't right either when the elevator is coming down and the sound is also incorrect. I lived on an aircraft carrier for 4 years. But everything else is authentic.

      @tomiviitanen  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the feedback. You're right, I took some artistic freedoms for example the alarm. I think it fitted to composition well this way. Also it wasn't that easy to find reference material.

      @@tomiviitanen it isn’t your fault. Not many people have experience of living and working on one for 4 years. I think you did excellent. It is anything better than I can do. I’m middle intermediate with Blender, Quixal Mixer, and 3D Coat.

    What kind of rendersettings got you that clean results in 45s per frame on a 2080ti? My 3080 has to be broken or I'm doing something really stupid, I need several minutes per frame usually even with denoise to get semi-decent results.

    • @tomiviitanen
      @tomiviitanen  Před rokem

      There is so many factors that affects render times. But here's couple tips: Lower the total light bounces amount to something like 3-5. I think it's 12 with default settings, you can find it under light paths on render settings. Also small light sources are bit tricky to Cycles to render and will affect rendering times.
      This is scene is fully lit with HDRi. Theres 750 samples, and I also like to use denoise almost everytime. Also this this scene is basically outdoor scene since there are these big openings on walls in front of the camera and also back of the camera so the light can bounce off from the 'ship'. That speeds up renders a lot when the light can find its way out quickly of there and wont get trapped in. Hope this helps.

    • @tomiviitanen
      @tomiviitanen  Před 2 lety

      I'm sorry I didn't really understand. You imported what to blender or do you mean the jet? You can just select different faces in edit mode, after that you can assign different material to them.
