My Friday laughs and feel-good time taken care of. Wise words of advice with a dash - no, make a dollop - of good humour. Funny thing about lifestyles - when my late wife and I took early retirement in the late 1980s to run a B&B on an island off Lake Ontario, we decide to avoid Canadian winters and invested in a modest condominium bungalow development called Seascape in Destin, Florida. We were in Tennis Village (no, we didn’t play tennis but that’s a whole other story). People used to envy us - wow - having an all-winter holiday - must be nice to be rich. We would always (politely) reply we weren’t “on holiday”, we were simply living down there instead of Ontario for six months of the year. Our needs were simple. We shopped, walked the dog, joined various clubs and made winter friends from among Americans and Canadians. We built up two sets of clothes and simply moved from one house to another after a pleasant three-day drive. Living on a narrowboat is not one long idyllic “holiday” right? It’s just living a lifestyle that suits you both. The trick is looking at all sides realistically, budgeting and deciding what’s best for you. Some of the happiest days of our retirement years were spent living the way we wanted too and those precious memories are mine forever. John, Ontario, Canada

Lovely vlog again with good tips for prospective boaters. Having just clocked up 3 years on my boat I can't imagine moving back to a house (as I am old the deciding factor will be when my knees give out). I am absolutely with you on the subject of generators, I know some people say they are quieter than boat engines but I don't think they are, especially if you have a well maintained engine. One noise you didn't mention is water birds pecking at the weed that grows below the waterline in warmer weather. The occasional tap tapping on the hull isn't so bad but one morning a while back a whole flock of Canada Geese decided to have breakfast at my place - it was like having a pneumatic drill in the basement.
You guys should set up a print-on-demand merch account and sell T-shirts (and mugs, and totes, etc.) with a picture of laughing Sean captioned “You can’t SAY that!!!” ;-)
Take heed folks, this is some pretty sound advice, but I would love o be young enough to do it myself, instead I am one of those pensioners who love your weekly visits.keep em going boys , luv ya to bits

Impossible to watch this very entertaining vlog and not laugh, especially with Shaun’s most excellent laugh and telling Colin “You can’t say that.” I suggest a new version of your “You can’t say that” T-shirt, it should have both of you on it, Colin with censored across his mouth and Shaun saying “You can’t say that!”
Excellent, having had a few narrowboat holidays all ring very true. I couldnt guess any of the censured words and usually can, so made up my own. Another biggy is still being able to tolerate, enjoy, laugh with, love, be flexible with and like any person you are cruising with. Lots of laughs thank you three xxx oh and a glimpse of Dillon x

The mind boggles, Shaun humming during the night, perhaps he forgot to switch off his toy..... Other great video guys, thanks. Stay safe, it's still out there. Don't forget the brown sause for the bangers. The Davids
There are disadvantages to living in a house too, you still have maintenance issues, you're stuck with whatever neighbours you get etc, people are just more used to putting up with it. I thought the canals were still a little regimented and restrictive for me personally but I can see the attraction, maybe will move to the canals when I'm to old for my current boat.

That's funny because I thought today was Thursday and Foxes Afloat were early. Oops
Thank you for hanging in there on the utube. Since covid many have retired or taken a much needed break. Your vlogs are usually cheerful informative and well done. I love them.

Gentlemen I have no idea why CZcams brought me to you, but I'm delighted it did. The pair of you are some craic. Good luck.

He's so cute when he does that 🐶 🥰
Yet another fab informative video with the humour I crave haha... Well done chaps.. And be safe both of you... Love ya both xx
Thanks so much
Lovely vlog again with good tips for prospective boaters.
Haha! I like how they just look at you gormless if you shout at them 😂
You guys should set up a print-on-demand merch account and sell T-shirts (and mugs, and totes, etc.) with a picture of laughing Sean captioned “You can’t SAY that!!!” ;-)
It already exists! 👉🏻 bit.ly/39mYLpg
I always look forward to your videos. I love your sense of humor, your historic references and of course narrowboating
Thank you very much!
Take heed folks, this is some pretty sound advice, but I would love o be young enough to do it myself, instead I am one of those pensioners who love your weekly visits.keep em going boys , luv ya to bits
Aww, thanks, Linda !
“You can’t say that” quote of the week again!! Awesome. You are both very funny and have a great rapport.
You both need an uncensored channel. Thank you for keeping me laughing on a Friday afternoon. Have a great weekend.
Love that!
Nice one boys loving it keep the laugher up ur making my day love u two
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love y'all. You make the sun shine on a cloudy day. I like your list. It makes sense. Glad to see y'all are doing good. Xoxoxo
Thanks so much
You got me again with “ Gobmush”.... 🤣😂🤣😂..... howling !
😂😂😂
Not quite got the courage to sell the semi and buy a boat - so doing it all vicariously through you two - thanks guys!
You're quite welcome!
Impossible to watch this very entertaining vlog and not laugh, especially with Shaun’s most excellent laugh and telling Colin “You can’t say that.”
I suggest a new version of your “You can’t say that” T-shirt, it should have both of you on it, Colin with censored across his mouth and Shaun saying “You can’t say that!”
😂😂😂
Excellent, having had a few narrowboat holidays all ring very true. I couldnt guess any of the censured words and usually can, so made up my own. Another biggy is still being able to tolerate, enjoy, laugh with, love, be flexible with and like any person you are cruising with. Lots of laughs thank you three xxx oh and a glimpse of Dillon x
Our pleasure, Susan 💜
This episode was a “proper banger”
Haha! What have we started? 😂
Another great informative and panoramic vlog full of humor and fun. You guys are amazing. You make my weekend start off with a smile and a laugh, thanks...
Awesome! Thank you!
The mind boggles, Shaun humming during the night, perhaps he forgot to switch off his toy.....
Other great video guys, thanks.
Stay safe, it's still out there. Don't forget the brown sause for the bangers.
The Davids
Oh jeez yeah, the toys 👍🏻😂
He he he hehe he
You can’t say that!!!
👍🏻
Never bored , life with Maude
💜💜💜😂
I just want to say, I love you two so much! Please know how much joy you bring to peoples lives and don't stop cruising!
No plans to, yet 👍🏻
For once I didn't know a euphemism Colin used. My innocence is saved 🤣
😂😂😂
As a pensioner, I agree, your vlogs are proper bangers!!
Glad you like them!
It would be quite amusing to edit together all of Shaun's " you can't say that" clips!
LOL! x
Friday for me, means Foxes Afloat, Otis and so many wonderful things to see, hear and learn. Thank you for another beautiful Vlog. Seeing the daffodils is a welcoming sign of Spring, Enjoy a fun fabulous weekend. ✌❤🤗
You are so welcome!
