- The Tudor FXD is a collaboration between Tudor and the Marine Nationale. It's been quite the hyped up watch of late, which is why I had to have it in.
I loved it right out of the box, and then I sort of got bored with it. I talk through the model and my thoughts, especially on that count down bezel!

The FXD is my favorite Pelagos. I tried it on at my AD the day I picked up my 126610LV. It fit my 6.75" wrist perfectly and was very comfortable. Love the blue color, the fixed lugs and the thinner case.
Its a great watch no doubt about it. I might just be biased after two months with the normal one.
Your videos are so good! I always look forward to when you post! Thanks for the content :)
Very kind to say! No problem!
This is the sub rolex would have produced if they were still a tool watch company
I bought a Tactical Frog homage from AliExpress for 195 usd and love it! It makes me want the FXD. The TF has a NH35 movement and the nato strap fits my 7.5” wrist really well.
Nice! The FXD is certainly a great watch.
Great having another comprehensive review of the piece, along with IDGuy's recent video, thank you!
I saw his today! Glad to be considered in the same company!
Excellent review about a great watch. Thank you.
Thanks!
It's good to know exactly what you like and don't like about any particular watch and know the reasons why. I like your analysis of this watch👍
Thanks!
Pretty much in line: heard fixed lugs, no way. But respect them for doing the collaboration w the pros and still releasing it to the public.
Just got my BB Pro - in love. Thinking I’ll pick up a basic Pelagos at some pt to chk off the titanium box in my collection.
Great video - cool divers NG pic with Mr Shark in the background.
Agreed! Enjoy I love the full size Pelagos
Great overview with an honest assessment. I'm not a purist or a big Tudor fan. For me this is the coolest watch they make at the moment and is the only offering of theirs I want. I think I would enjoy it but I don't want my collection to just be a bunch of dive watches so I'm conflicted. If I could get over the anxiety of talking to a dealer I'd put my name on a list.
This is certainly a diff piece and worth having in your collection even if its flooded with divers. At least for me it is! I ABSOLUTELY love my FXD!
Great video sir! Still comparing this one to the blue Black Bay 58. I have a 6.25 inch wrist. What would you say?
Definitely BB58 in my mind. I have a 6.75” wrist and this felt a little long. The BB58 proportions are my favorite of the two
@@HarrisonElmore Thanks a lot. Great channel by the way!
@@GadgetsforGentlemen thanks!
@WristSwap - Totally understand what you're saying about the OEM rubber strap, as I am also sensitive to thinness. Try it with a strap from NickMankeyDesigns that lets the watch sit directly on your wrist and wrap better on the sides. I haven't taken it off my FXD.
I’ll check them out!
That looks like it fits you well what size are your wrists?
6.75”
Instead of Nato straps or pass through straps, try Mankey or Watch Steward straps...their design can be used on fixed lugs without the added thickness if you choose the right model.
I think it’s maybe my next watch.
I don’t subscribe to many watch channels very picky but love your videos content keep up the great work and keep everything the same love it 👍
I appreciate it!
@@HarrisonElmore and scaffold you are interested please
Good to hear different folks takes on the FXD... Lucky to whoever the watch is for in having a 21 version...
Personally I have found the countdown bezel (and being fully indexed) to be great. The included rubber strap doesn't do it for me and I wish it was a bit more flexible (maybe in the water over a suit it wouldn't be as bit of a deal).
One strap that I have found to be fantastic is the Nick Mankey strap made for fixed lug bars. It has infinite adjustability and is incredibly comfortable.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I’ve never heard of that strap. I’ll have to check it out!
@@HarrisonElmore absolutely fantastic and worth the small wait time.
Just subscribed !👍
Thanks! Welcome aboard!
I think it’s the “fixed” not “F.X.D”
I could be wrong.. but I think that’s the intent of the fxd is to read as fixed
Per Tudor's website... "With the Pelagos FXD model, where FXD refers to the extra robust FiXeD strap bars of the case, TUDOR is reviving this historic collaboration."
Yeah I pronounce everything wrong so I wasn’t sure which way it went!
I got this watch literally last Sunday, and I'm debating whether to keep it or sell it off. It's not a beautiful watch (the whole Pelagos line is far from beautiful) but it's damn functional and convenient and the special force association is cool indeed. I wish they made it black. I wish the ceramic bezel didn't look so plasticky. I wish the indices were more clearly 3-dimensional; they are applied but look painted from a distance. And I wish it had a few shiny parts around the bezel or the indices, but I understand that Marine Nationale requested that the watch have no reflective surfaces at all.
All in all, a very cool watch but it doesn't look like a $4000 product. This should not be your only watch or even your only dive watch. If you already got several luxury watches and want to add a quirky piece tailored for a highly active lifestyle, then by all means consider this one.
I agree about the indices. The cut out chapter ring on the normal Pelagos was one of the things I loved.
Do you think that the other Pelagos models feel like $5000 watches, or just the FXD doesn’t feel like a $4000 watch?
I like all of them in paper, but seeing the black Pelagos live, can’t say I’m impressed. Looks great, but doesn’t look $5000 great.
Btw, I really like the quirky FXD with all the M.N. theme over the std Pelagos models, but not sure about it.
For a “normal” diver with date, helium valve, and ridiculous depth rating I’d go for a SeaDweller over the Pelagos (yes, different price range, but still).
@@angelobalto I would say that all Pelagos watches can look a little cheap. Their matte texture and bright colors cause this, I think. Black Bay 58 looks much more upscale, in my opinion.
FXD stands for fixed as in the lugs.
Certainly a great timepiece for a combat diver.
As a civilian, I much prefer the standard Pelagos, not for the 500 m depth rating which allow you to look down on standard Sub owners ;) but because :
a) the dial looks much better, and
b) fully hashed bezels are not my cup of tea
Standard pelagos is like having a dictionary on the wrist…No thanks
I would agree in terms of design of the dial. It’s still a bit tall, but given that I wore it for like a month straight, it definitely doesn’t wear as tall as I expected since it’s light
How about this then.. What if your a bracelet guy buy already have watches on bracelets… and what if you like this modern piece and already have vintage/inspired pieces… could this be a fit in your collection.? A very toolly , purpose built daily piece ?… im a bracelet guy but have also got into NATOs of late… and I really like it.. question is should I buy one?
Do you have it ?
Not anymore!
I'm having a hard time following your logic: you like thin watches, but you liked Pelagos' thickness? And that's what you miss in this watch?
I don’t miss the thickness, only the dial design the thickness allowed
You can buy leather natos though
True!
You should of waited until the new Pel 39 mm, to a review.
I’ll get one of those eventually in!
Your content is good, presentation good but your interaction with your viewers comments and questions are poor.
Hello! Sorry to hear that! Typically I’ll respond on the new videos for a few days and then I try to manage the comments on all the videos as they come in. This is a hobby for me, but I’ll monitor as best I can
Cool watch but I can’t get past the countdown bezel and enormous lug to lug. It’s not for me.
Pe’-Lagos
Just safe some money or sell some of your watches and get the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms titanium blue… the worlds first diver ever designed and the most refined diver in todays market…
Interesting option! I’ll look it up
If you want to sell it, please reach out.
Already did. Sorry!
If MN comes with a bracelet then it will loose its identity as an FXD. Yes agree vintage is much more better, but comes as much higher cost 🤑 isn’t it ?
Haha yes it does. True it would, but that’s why I like the normal one I guess
The blue is a little bit too cartoon like….
I think it was wrong to call this Pelagos. They should've given it a new name, or revitalized an old name. Call it the Snowflake or something.
I have less than zero interest in Tudor.
But enough to watch the vid and comment -_-
