@@itsalexoh thanks for your feedback Alex. I have applied a low pass filter on my most recent video, seems to be lower if you could quickly check it out. It's the ipad air video.
@@OttoJulian_ I just checked out the ipad air video and I can barely hear the difference and the issue is still present. My recommendation to you would be to use a de-esser and not a low pass filter. A low-pass filter will take away a lot of the clarity in your speech and not necessarily take care of your sibilance issue. Using a de-esser to target that 5-9khz range and having it trigger when it goes past your threshold will help you keep your audio clear and limit how loud those hisses get. Hey RT. The brilliant part is that there is ZERO noise, music is irrelevant AND I'm sharing the experience of what I could hear, not intended for the audience to actually hear the "silent" room. Hi Stefan!! Yeah that sucks. On Amazon the estimated is 3-4 weeks but the price is higher. I ordered at B&H and after a week they gave me an estimated time. I feel that they handle pre orders pretty quick, not the first time I order something that's not available and they always surprise me
Very formative video. 🤎 I just want to ask for an opinion from you Mr. I want to buy 2 SL60w lights and it'll cost me like $275 here in the Philippines.. But when I got into a shop I saw that they are selling lights in set. There are 3 120w spiral lamp lights, with 3 softboxes and lightstands and it only costs $225. Can I ask for your opinion of what could be the best choice between those two?
How about the amaran 100d vs godox ml60? They're the same price in my country. Ml60 comes with a carrying case and better controls. Amaran has better brightness
I'd like to make that review. The ML60 is far better than the SL60 and maybe a better competitor for the Amaran100D. Right now I do prefer the brightness output, since you get almost double. The amaran also has a regular bowens mount and for me that's a +1
1. Does amaran 100d good with food video making??? By default the Amaran 100d price is 300 right now! 2. Which is more silent and less noise and higher CRI; AMRAN 100D OR GODOX FV150W?? Which one of them is better?
Hello Maro, the FV150W is a different kind of light, it is a hybrid but honestly I haven't used it before. The Amaran 100D will be good for food videos, it is very color accurate, and the price on Amazon seems to have gone higher than the real retail price, which is still $200 (Sellers on Amazon can use the price they decide to) The Amaran 100D is one of the most silent lights out there. I have a video review of another light next tuesday, and that is the winner of continuous silent light
@@OttoJulian_ I'm very beginner and don't know if bi colour 100x go to help me more in food video and photography, can you advise? Does amaran 100d X still silent like 100d?? Really thanks for help.
@@maromaro9019 100x is also close to silent. The X is bi-color do you can change the temperature of the light, warmer or cooler. For food I do recommend sticking to a daylight-balanced light such as the 100d.
Right out of the box they don't take any batteries. You can adapt an external power source (battery operated). I usually use them for longer periods of time and I haven't had any overheating issues with any of them. They do get hot but nothing crazy.
I need a spotlight to light speeches at weddings...my LED panels are not focussed enough...I have a Lowel Pro 250watts light from years ago which is great but TOO HOT! a Tungsten one...so I think a "fresnel" type LED would be better...but it needs to have some power...not stage lighting power but some power so that I can place it at a distance...8metres? 25feet? awayt and still get a spotligt effect on the person giving the speech...I don't want to blind them either! the Godox SL60 and even the Amaran 100D look a bit weak for my purposes...am I wrong? The Godox UL60 is nice because I could use Sony batteries but the power is the same-60watts as the older Godox...what would you suggest on a budget? Thanks so much! Nicely lit video!
hi Erick! 8 meters is quite a distance, I think those 60watts will fall short. The Amaran 100D might do the trick with a fresnel like this one amzn.to/3FdX2A2. If you feel like you need more power I would recommend the Godox SL150 mark II, 150watts of power, great light, pretty silent in my opinion. There is an old video review of that light on my channel and it is the one I still use
@@OttoJulian_ thanks for the response! I guess I would need at least 100Watts equivalent to get some real power..I don't need theatre stage quality/strength but for sure a good light for some occasions. I prefer to use minimal lights (I have 3 Aputure LED panels which run with Sony L batteries and are ok for selected moments)...but lights are needed in weddings- i don't understand how many videographers simply don't bring at least one light for some special moments-sure some cameras can "see" in the dark but the quality of the light is not the best...anyway...everyone has his/her own style I guess...I just don't want to pay too much! I'll look at some Godox lights. Their price range is good for my budget. Thanks so much!
@@TheFandangovideoguy you are right, I've seen it, videographers not bringing any kind of lights and expecting everything to be bright all the time. Hope you find something with Godox, they are a good brand!
@@OttoJulian_ 15-20% depends on the imported product ! The main problem is our current gov did a bad rule for past 6 years and our petrol tax is 260% now , in usa its 20% feel the difference !! petrol and also other fuels control indian economy so thats one of the main reasons for these price hikes
to tell you the truth I'm not sure, the biggest I've used is a 90cm softbox. It does work fine with the 90cm. 120cm is quite big, I think it will work but you might lose some output.
@@OttoJulian_ Here it is important to understand what is the distance from the mount of the LED to the bayonet, for Godox it is 3 cm, if the Amaran has more than 4 cm it will not.
Mmm not really sure where those 3 or 4 cm are, but I just read that this projector doesn't work with all Aputure lights, but I'm not sure if this apply to the 100D or not
Hello Dans. If you need almost complete silence, if you need more power , go for the Amaran. The godox is not so quiet, for my talking heads and other uses is good enough, but I've seen people in need of filming scenes where there is complete silence and the godox could ruin that.
Hi. Yes the retail price is $200, but on Amazon the ones selling them are third party sellers. I think they sell them at those prices because of the high demand and low availability around the world 😐. I would suggest to wait until the price goes down or pre-order at B&H. You'll be placed on a waiting list. That's how I got mine
Yes and no. Right out of the box there is no way to power this with batteries, as all you get is what I showed on the video. Now, every light that doesn't support external battery (like these 2) can be adapted to do so, but basically we are talking about buying an external way to power them. Aputure do sell a 2 Bay power station that costs $179
@@OttoJulian_ Hi Julian, thank you for the clear explanation regarding the external powering with a power station. I reckon the station is heavy as well, reducing it's portability. Really appreciate you for making content explaining about these products.
@@OttoJulian_ perhaps I can ask. I'm curious whether a 60W LED with 24" softbox is sufficient to light a subject from head-to-shoulder at 2metres apart, in an indoor room setting. Currently got my eyes on Godox ML60 (since it's battery's powered capable out of the box). What do you think?
Yeah, for most of my tests the light source is at around 2m, the edge of the softbox is closer than that but it should be enough for headshots. It will depend also in the settings and lens you'll be using so Bare that in mind
it's $199, but the link points at the product and there are several resellers. in the past weeks they raised it to those crazy prices. not my fault. they go up and down (offer and demand)
Hi Benzo. You are probably looking at resellers on Amazon that take advantage that they are low on inventory. They are $200, on Aputure website and at official retailers such as Adorama, B&H, etc. I payed $200 for mine Edit: yeah, just doubled checked on Amazon, those are third party sellers, and their price goes up and down. If you are interested in this light keep checking on their price or buy at B&H
@@OttoJulian_ Thanks. I just saw that as well. B&H and Adorama sell them for $200, but they're on back order and have been for a while. These are some popular lights! Also, very nice video.
@@PowersBenzoCoaching yeah. If it allows you, I might try placing the order on B&H, that's how I got mine. They put you "on line" and ship as soon as they get one. Apparently they keep getting low quantities but they give priority to those who have ordered.

@@OttoJulian_ I will look for sure. I got rid of all my Lowel pro tungsten lights! they were useful but too hot to handle! Thanks!
hi Otto, does godox make more noise than amaran? which one is better for interviews so as not to spoil the audio ? thx
Hi, yes it does. The Amaran is quite silent
@@OttoJulian_ thank you for your answer. all the best ;)
What does channel and group does in sl60w? I have always wondered this
hi Durga, those are used when you want to use multiple units, so you can have all of them or some of them on the same channel/group
helpful video!
Hello Elliot! thank you!
This amaran is overpriced in india like hell it almost costs double , while the godox stays in its original price ! i am going for godox
wow, I hate the fact that some sellers have been blowing the price of the Amaran because there is a shortage of stock!
@@OttoJulian_ and we have a stupid tax system so
@@liquaard2824 how much is the tax there?
@@OttoJulian_ 15-20% depends on the imported product ! The main problem is our current gov did a bad rule for past 6 years and our petrol tax is 260% now , in usa its 20% feel the difference !! petrol and also other fuels control indian economy so thats one of the main reasons for these price hikes
Wow yeah that's a lot
is the brightness of sl60w enough for Godox 120 cm softbox?
to tell you the truth I'm not sure, the biggest I've used is a 90cm softbox. It does work fine with the 90cm. 120cm is quite big, I think it will work but you might lose some output.
Can you please review sutefoto p100 RGB
hi, I'm not so familiar with that brand
Amaran 100d or godox SL 100 bi, which is best?
I use the amaran one way more often. That should answer your question
Umm... Good job with this comparison :)
Hey there Joel! Thank you so much !!
Tell me, is the Godox SA-17 Adapter with SA-P projection head suitable for the Amaran 100d?
Sure, it does have a Bowens mount
@@OttoJulian_ Here it is important to understand what is the distance from the mount of the LED to the bayonet, for Godox it is 3 cm, if the Amaran has more than 4 cm it will not.
Mmm not really sure where those 3 or 4 cm are, but I just read that this projector doesn't work with all Aputure lights, but I'm not sure if this apply to the 100D or not
@@OttoJulian_ thanks)
how about fan noise for film making, which one a recomanded? 🙏
Hello Dans. If you need almost complete silence, if you need more power , go for the Amaran. The godox is not so quiet, for my talking heads and other uses is good enough, but I've seen people in need of filming scenes where there is complete silence and the godox could ruin that.
@@OttoJulian_ well, thank you very much for information. success for you
@@dannugraha Thanks !! you are welcome!
why is the 100D $360 bucks right now??? I thought it was under 200?
Tks! :D
You are welcome!
Can the Amaran 100D be powered by battery? I've read of some websites stating optional battery.
Yeah, forgot to mention the weight but you clearly got the point! Thanks
It's $199, Oh shit my link has it at $359.....
it's $199, but the link points at the product and there are several resellers. in the past weeks they raised it to those crazy prices. not my fault. they go up and down (offer and demand)
The Amaran 100d is $300, not $200
Hi Benzo. You are probably looking at resellers on Amazon that take advantage that they are low on inventory. They are $200, on Aputure website and at official retailers such as Adorama, B&H, etc. I payed $200 for mine
Edit: yeah, just doubled checked on Amazon, those are third party sellers, and their price goes up and down.
@@OttoJulian_ Solid. I'll do that. Thank you.
