    I have an '01 CR500R original. Zero hours never ridden. Not many of them left now. They're easy to start, never had to lean a 500 over like that. I fly planes too. Thanks for the post. Just subscribed.

      Sounds like an amazing bike!! I would personally love to find one like that.. just to have.
      Also you must have a leg like an oak, if you can just start them right up. Lol. Every bike is different and everyone has there thing.. I guess my little cr500 dance just works for me.. lol.

    That’s one beautiful Cr500 AF. They have power wherever you need it, it’s definitely a chore to ride all day. I’m very curious to see how much less vibration the BRC Counter Balanced engines will have. Especially a built Cr500 like your MRE. Great video👍, keep them coming 🔥🔥🔥

      I watch all your content it's crazy you haven't blown up yet! Keep doing it please I appreciate your knowledge. Have an 02 cr 125 for a few years now. Working up to a 250 I love the 87 era honda crs that's the dream. Cheers brother 👍

      Well thanks a lot for the support, I really do appreciate it. I don't do anything with bikes for a living so its just a passion of mine... I'm glad i can share it with others. hopefully one day people will find the channel and like it as much as you do.
      I raced CR125 in Canada for a few years, Great bikes. In my opinion a 250 is a lot easier to ride, of course they have more power... but you don't have to run them wide open like a 125.. Hope you find a 250 you like when you are ready!! Take your time though, I look back and miss riding that 125 back in the day
      Thanks a lot for watching the content and hopefully I can keep making things you like to watch.. coming up is a 1993 CR250 build and a few videos on riding of course.. we have a lot of fun stuff planed for 2024 so make sure you are Subscribed so you don't miss out.@@higgypph

    I highly highly recommend getting a new Built 500 setup done on any chassis really lol Aj has highly improved the engine and it has very very little vibration ove the way they used to be

      I actually believe that Adam Millar builds AJ's engine's.. might not do all of them but I do know he has in the past, have you ridden a newer build from AJ ? I think he dose amazing work obviously.. im really excited to see what
      BRC builds with this new Counter Ballance 500 Case...

    Jealous, always wanted to ride an AF 500. THE KING OF PING. Got an 88 CR500 myself. My dad bought it back in 1990 and I gave it to me last year for Xmas. Been riding it since I was a teenager and now it’s mine. Super expensive bikes nowadays.
    I’ve been starting it since I was young so it kind of comes natural. It’s crazy when you watch others have such a difficult time. I don’t mean to sound arrogant, just know how to start them. I’ve kicked over husky 390’s 400’s 250 Elsinores. Those are mean, kick back will kill yeah.
    Beautiful bike dude, have you ridin as steelie and which ones your preference. Heard the AF’s are stiff because of the aluminum.

      That sounds like a pretty awesome story, and a great bike to keep in the family. I have ridden a few steel frame CR500's but it was a long time ago, when i was racing and when i was 20.. I have tried an 86, and an 87.... all i really remember about it was that i was at a sand pit that i would go to almost every day.. it was soft like beach sand, without any water around...
      The 87, had less tread on the back tire then a street bike, I was about 140lbs at the time and I could not keep the front end from coming up no matter what i did... It was my first real eye opener to what 500cc really was... needless to say it was a lot different then the 125's i was racing at the time
      as far as how the Aluminum frames feel... well mine vibrates, but all 500's vibrate... I honestly like the aluminum frame bikes, my 2001 cr250 just fits me really good. But the 500 is a blast.. i don't know if its better than a steel frame... its just different.
      Thanks a lot for the comment and for the history about your 1988, sounds like an amazing bike! also just a great situation that it was your dad's and now its yours.. Congratulations.
      Thanks again, and thanks for watching

    twisting a 2 strokes throttle does nothing...there is no accelerator pump...

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  Před 5 měsíci +1

      lol...
      on a cr250 I agree... on a 125 you are absolutely right... but on a CR500... well you have to do the "Dance"... if you get any of the steps wrong... you will be kicking for what feels like days.. even getting on the bike from the wrong side has a chance of messing up the steps...
      It's like you need to do all these things in order for the bike to know that you have went through the hardship and troubles of being that guy people are watching...
      waiting to see that beast of a bike you brought to the track finally fire up..
      but if you don't treat a cr500 with the respect it needs, (doing every thing short of sacrificing children) it will not start.. lol
      so twisting the throttle is just one step in the dance...
      if you know.. you know..
      Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching the video, hopefully you will like our other content and the upcoming videos we have in the works.

      @@DirtbikerepairI never had to twist the throttle in mine to prime it. I just tip it over like you did til fuel runs out the overflow. Top dead center and fires first kick everytime if I kick it hard enough lol. Mines air cooled and doesn’t have a decomp.

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  Před měsícem +1

      The old air cools bike’s definitely can be a pain to start as well.

      @blanchard899 Před měsícem +1

      @@Dirtbikerepair agreed! Til you find people like you and others that got the technique down and can show people the procedure. I like and dislike the decomp. Reason why I dislike it is after awhile they can start leaking. Two I like them because it prevents the chance of cracking the crankcase cover. I’ve seen this happen a lot because people don’t now the top dead center and fill the carb bowl first so they kick and kick. Next thing you know broken crankcase cover.
