  • Switzerland’s unique climate and multitude of travel destinations provide a perfect opportunity for an indulgent feast. When visiting this majestic country, you will be using a lot of your energy because you will walk, hike, and swim. When you are having a Swiss food adventure, you are basically tasting flavors of German, Italian, and French origin. It’s a whole European feast in one country so be prepared. More than tasting the flavors of Switzerland, you can also explore how their food is made, especially cheese and the hundreds of cheese factories you can check out. There is no denying that food is a great way to explore a country’s story. If you take one of those guided tours in cheese factories, you will learn that they make cheese because of the milk surplus they get from the many cattle they have. In order not to waste any milk, a smart solution is to turn them into cheese which lasts them for months. You will encounter more surprising facts like this as you explore Switzerland. An extraordinary food adventure definitely awaits you in the Swiss Alps. Here is a look at the top ten foods to try while visiting in Switzerland.

Just a small note: Currywurst isn`t a swiss dish, it`s german. 😀 There are some places here who sell it, but I wouldn`t recommend it if you can have a cervelat instead.

Note that in the video is not used Alplermagronen maccaroni, but ordinary italian-ones. It's function of sauce-o-retainability that led to the straight, longer pasta pipes of the original Älplermagronen pasta. Mixing croc-monsieur with curry wost will never ever give you good traditional swiss food that smell a bit and gives a little bit of belly fat for hard times. _Ayn gutta!_

“Traditional Swiss food that smells a bit” made me laugh, that’s so true. The cheese shops in Switzerland smell like dirty socks but I know the cheese is good. My grandpa loved strong cheese, the stronger the better. He was 2nd generation American from Swiss immigrants.

"When you're having a Swiss food adventure, you're basically tasting flavors of German, Italian and French origin." Not really... That's why it's called swiss food....

I mean, Macaroni, Fondue, and Currywurst? Sounds italian, french and german to me.

@@LANeverSleeps Yeah currywurst is german food and not swiss.

@@LANeverSleeps Language and ethnicity/culture is not the same. Fondue is not a french food because it's name is french language. Fondue was invented in Swizerland, traditionally eaten in Switzerland. But you are right, it is french because of the Name. *Sarcasm off*
