The only thing that stopped me from importing goods is the complexity of the customs and epa requirements. Some suppliers advertise epa certified but epa says a lot of those are not due to some minor changes in the product. Maybe it is smoother with non gasoline powered stuff

Wow that's a strong statement! What makes you think that negotiating the sample price is amateurish? From my own experience of dealing with different manufacturers over 10+ years, I think it's perfectly fine to do that and we did develop a good relationship with most of them. Some manufacturers open an higher price on their sample cost and actually expect a negotiation. This was coming out from the mouth of a sales rep after we became really close friend.
Because trying to negotiate a sample cost makes you look like a fool and not taking your business seriously. It's the cost to do business.

Was trying to buy a mini-excavator. Contrary to what you're saying the price you may pay at the end may be cheaper, they have the excavators listed at very unrealistically prices.
When you contact them, they tell you that's not a real price. Then hit you with a huge price.

Do you have any recommendations on how to protect my design when negotiating with supplies on Alibaba? For example, I am wanting to print teacher planners. Would it be safe to send my PDF file to show the design?

Besides the purchasing from Alibaba, and off course paying for shipping, isn't there USA custom duty? If so, how do you know how much it is for the product you buy? Also do these manufacturers ship door to door?
They do ship door to door which is the only way to go with all of my experiences. Just make sure you screen shot all of your chat sessions for proof when errors occurs.

Don't rely on everything said. I have personal experience and I am one of the victims of the biggest scam called Trade Assurance. Alibaba's commission is "BLIND" for all the clear evidence for the seller's agreement breach and they support the unfair seller. Their behavior is completely offensive. They will tell you they can not see the difference between one white bear and the other black bear. They just will tell you that you are not a professional like the seller is. There are no such Alibaba rules related to the professionalism of the parties and moreover on the basis of which they decide which one side is and which other side is not a professional. People without honor. I trusted Alibaba Rules and now I am bitterly sorry. I wish someone had told me this before concluding my deal.
Great video. You mentioned if it’s too good to be true then it probably is . Given that pricing from Ali baba is so much lower than retail in the US, how do you know it’s too low of a price? Is there a place to find out what the average price is for products at the buying side of things?

hi there , was wondering if you knew anything about this. i cannot get a hold of anyone of Alibaba but my son placed a big order and it went through but the problem is that when he goes to sign in on a desktop and goes on his phone to check the email address he provided it doesn't show his, it shows a weird random email address we tried to change it but a code is sent but its actually being sent to the "weird email" any suggestions?

If a product has low demand in china and is mainly produced under a US brand name in china, would it be likely that is a fake or no genuine?
Especially in terms of tech.
They will put whatever you want as a brand name because they can't be held accountable and they lie about everything. Be very very careful on their site.

@Regnald Aloyce this is Iam Authentic: trade assurance sided with me because I provided all the message transactions that's inside of the Alababa platform. 1st, I should add that if I had used whatsapp. I probably wouldn't have got anything. So, all communications need to be on their platform. Trade assurance said to me, "Yeah, you were screwed so return the product and get a full refund." It would have cost me over $2000 to return it. So, of course, at this point, I realized I was screwed. After 6 months of negotiations, I ended up only getting several thousand dollars of shit, the wrong product i couldn't use, and a small $400 credit. Secondly, never ever order anything that's not door to door delivery. I was stuck paying an additional $1200 to pick the order up at the port. Custom fees etc, oh also the 25% tarrif the US emposed on China "we pay that". Had the port allowed me to see the product, I wouldn't have taken possession of it. Watch your ass dealing with them. They are mostly liars that just want to call you Dear and shovel shit up your ass.
That being said, I have had 4 or 5 other vendors ship door to door all fees included in their bids that everyone went well on. Cover your ass. Good luck
