- Oasis
Location: London, England, U.K
Venue: Finsbury Park
Date: 7th July 2002
Source: Broadcast Recording
The last night at Finsbury Park in London, this night was broadcast on radio therefore we have a very high quality soundboard which showcases the massive sound Oasis were putting on display at this time. There are the odd small interludes but they aren’t too annoying and it does make the performances feel more grounded as it wasn’t only just the crowd who were experiencing the show, but also those tuning in on the radio. It does make it hard to find raw performances from audience recordings because they sometimes aren’t too dynamic in the sound, which is why most fans tend to say most of Oasis’ best performances come from the shows with high quality recordings (this gig, Vancouver 95, Maine Road 96 etc.) as such this show in particular probably takes the cake for the most well-known of the three nights. This night coincided with Oasis’ return to the top of the album charts with Heathen Chemistry, which was released at the beginning of the week, and the band put in a typically energetic performance.
As for Liam, he sounds a bit more hoarse on some songs due to this being the fifth show in 6 days, but still holds up well until Some Might Say which he has to give up the second chorus to, which in turn tires him out during My Generation. The band sound quite energetic on this one, with both Noel and Gem pulling out nice licks and solos in Live Forever and Little By Little respectively. Overall, it’s another decent night here, it’s hard to pick out a weakest of these nights, but this is arguably the weakest one vocally, but the instrumentation here is more energetic than the previous two nights I’d say. At the end of this recording, you can hear Wonderwall being played on the P.A to the delight of the audience. I believe this was a common occurrence on many of the 2002 Heathen Chemistry shows, but a lot of tapes seem to miss it as they cut it off early.

I just realized you uploaded this on 7th July 2022 exactly 20 years later! Biblical
20 years ago today, legendary gigs
Yes indeed, next is the Newcastle Arena gigs, probably the most overshadowed shows of the early part of this tour!
@@Shakermaker94 I look forward to listening to it😍
@@Shakermaker94 nice gigs in Telewest Arena
T in The park That Summer Was an immaculate performance from the band. Heathen Christmas was just released a few weeks beforehand & it was the week after these shows. A few have got the TRS cos like Hindu Times & Stop Crying Your Heart out as there best live performances ever of those tracks. Awesome.,
22 years ago now
2000-02 melted my brain. I can’t believe I got to see Oasis 4 times 🙏🏻✊🏻
Me too

You lucky guy, I am so envious of you. I would have sold a body part to have seen them...... And still would today!
Loch Lomond
Newcastle x2

Manchester apollo
Hampden Park
City of Manchester stadium
Wembley stadium
Heaton park.
@@jamesjackson7004 You lucky so & so. Manchester Apollo!!!!! That is literally a half hour from me. It is such a small & intimate venu. I cannot believe they played there. The atmosphere must have been electric, I am sick with jealousy. Can you remember what year it was? Thanks, Stacey 🙂
@@staceyaston64 2001 i believe. It was the 10 years of noise and confusion tour. About 2000 crowd. Mega and was about 10 years from the stage. Brilliant.
she's electric always puts a smile on my face
Born on a different cloud wow 😮😮😮😮
Yeah. Sounds great that one. Liam can really write when he.s in the mood.
I was there! Front and centre...these were the days of my youth!
Me too. It was a great time for music. Dont think well see another singer like Liam in our lifetimes: truly unique. No one else could belt out Noels songs for that long and still be standing.
Amongst the best oasis gigs ever, definitely.
While I wouldn’t regard it to be as good as most fans, it’s certainly an enjoyable gig all-round.
My brother has sent me this on tape, also with supporting band BRMC. Both are mine fav bands since.
BRMC WHERE BRILL ..SO WE'RE PROUD MARY AND THE SUBWAYS
i remember noel was a big fan from brmc on this time, because of this he invited them.
Some might say: the best intro in music history!!
Acquiesce for me
Done properly for the first time as well as Gem plays the solo that Noel didn't bother with in the Bonehead days.
I love this gig so much
Spectacular!!
This just KICKS!👍
Epic ✌🏼💙
Thank you 😊
Long live oasis
Long live the 90s. The best fn decade z
Very true 👍 miss those days
Great setlist🎸🇬🇧❤️🤘👊🙌✨
Incredible night 👌👌✊✊❤️❤️
Great! Fantastic! Some Might Say best version
Was there, my 1st Oasis gig. What a day. Fantastic
Fkin release this as live album!!❤
It's ridiculous how sick this show is
People saying his voice fading round this time😂😂😂
She’s Electric
This live version is great.
Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! While it would’ve been amazing to hear a 1995 version with Liam live, it’s great it was still played either way I guess.
Was there then. My 4th oasis gig. Class
The great oasis at their greatest height. Their peak. Untouchable.
AMAZING gig... I'm still waiting the dvd. In d'you know what I mean .. the part in chorus when Noel is Start to sing ...is so great
My first time watching live was insane
they played the 2nd night the exact day I was born,I was born an oasis fan
Happened to me with Wembley 2000, on the second night lol.
The night with the most passion from the whole Heathen Chemistry tour, imo..Band in good spirits, amazing crowd, pretty good setlist and there we have the recipe for an awesome show!!
Thanks for the upload lad🎶🍻
You’re very welcome, the crowd definitely makes this one an awesome show!
@@Shakermaker94 Noel gets a folding chair, sits down at front of stage and says....ANY REQUESTS? Noel then rips through a bunch of Oasis B-SIDES. Legendary.!!!
I was at this gig, great support acts and a constant stream of bottles reigning down on your head. Good times.
Thank you so much for this upload! Was at the gig and have it on CD/iPod but obviously it's never made it onto Spotify. Legendary day, best gig I've ever been to.
I loved this tour by Oasis. I think it was a great time for the band 2002 there live performances were amazing & with Gem & Andy now firmly part of the band also with their first album release with HC. I think they brought back that excitement to there live shows again. There set list is brilliant with still so many amazing songs missing. It was a great vibe from the album & live shows that summer. I was at T In the park for this tour. ✌️👍✌️
This is absolutely mega. Thanks a lot.
You’re welcome!
Great job once again mate
Cheers mate! Appreciate it!
Has always been a favourite of mine this. Would love to see footage
Footage would be fantastic! I’ve only seen snippets here and there. Little By Little from this gig is the only substantial bit of professional footage and audio we’ve had from these gigs (excluding this soundboard)
This was my first Oasis gig. Loved it. Brilliant set list too
Lil
Pop
Mine too. What a day
I was here this night! I thought this period of oasis was really good. Alot better than it was for 'dig out your soul'. And a really good live set.
New sub here to your channel. thx for posting these gems. I got them all queued up.
Amazing, indeed.
My first ever gig. I remember walking into Finsbud
GREAT
One of their best gigs
Heard this on the radio back in the day! Epic ❤
Wow fantastic love it
Brings back so many happy memories
You’re very welcome!
Oasis ❤
Quite a decent set list!!
That setlist!
Great gig. I see them 8 times n 2002
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pressão papai
For anyone wondering, during the extended looped crowd noise section after Force of Nature, Noel was persuading the crowd to sing "who the fuck are Man Utd" repeatedly, obviously not suitable for radio!
Noel dedicated my generation for jhon ( entwistle) died 2002
Holy shit i used to listen to this everyday,I had a copy of this on cd it was called fuckin up in Finsbury lol Colombia and morning glory on this is amazing 👏
Best night out of 3 with the best thumbnail I've ever seen on CZcams. Brilliant work, thanks
PS: Please come back with the Queen channel too LOL
Thanks mate! Oh boy the Queen channel haha, it’ll be coming back. I’ve been focussing a lot on this channel but I think I might take a break maybe around August to focus on that channel. I probably won’t be uploading shows, but Over The Years needs to continue!
@@Shakermaker94 I love Oasis channel but i love the Queen channel too. It's hard to manage haha. But thanks for your effort in the Oasis channel. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷✌
I was there 50 odd thousand belting out wonderwall on the way out!
Awesome mate! It’s an epic moment, the crowd are insanely loud singing it.
Epic
Excellent gig from one of my favorite Oasis era. The audio is too good, and audience is great, it makes you feel like you are at this concert. The setlist is great, but would’ve loved if they played Champagne Supernova…
The audio’s fantastic. Champagne Supernova would’ve been nice. If only they kept Gas Panic by the time they played Finsbury. Would’ve been class.
@@Shakermaker94Thank you for uploading these gems :)
I think they opted for a heavier setlist which suited the gig series. I would have loved them to have included bring it on down@@Shakermaker94
OASIS👏👏OASIS👏👏💪🤸🎸
2002 setlist blew 2000 out of the water, seen them twice on heathen chemistry tour both dangerous again
Amazing concert. The 90's may have been their creative heyday, but 2000-2002 was their live peak.
Novels guitar playing on this whole album is spot on 👌
Love that jacket 👌
One of Liam’s best parkas!
Queria assistir esse show 😢
That parka was my dream as a teenager
Better man epic
Any fucker who argues that the original Oasis line up was better than the Gem and Andy era just aren't listening. This era of Oasis was at such a level of rock and roll brilliance it's a band that was unrivaled. So big, so mighty is the sound they were producing it justifies Oasis being at the same altitude, the same rarified air as the Beatles and the Stones. Shakespeare, Churchill, Olivier and Oasis. Two lads from a council estate. A fucking Ferrari. Beautiful to look at. Amazing performance. And every once in a while it spins out of control. Rock and Roll Stars. (PS Gem and Andy made it a four door Ferrari)
Was a great night! Loved the fact they didn’t play Wonderwall… so over played at the time! Class playing it over the PA as people left tho
Yeah playing it over P.A was a wise choice if anyone was disappointed not hearing it. Same goes for Champagne Supernova later in the year when Wonderwall started being played by Noel again.
😊 BELIEVE ME
Please believe me when i say you dont know me so go away
You dont know me
So walk on by
Stare and look but
Dont touch
Love me & Say much
Fall for me & Cry
Then look away & Die
Please Believe me when i Say
Savour the Moments
We share & Tuck the Memories Away
You Dont Know me so Go Away ❤
Earth Star😊
❤🔥💪👌👍
I was born that day😎
This is going to be your most viewed video mainly cause of the parka the gig wasn’t bad either 🤣🔥💯
Haha, I suppose we’ll see. The parka does look fantastic on him there though!
Fun fact he was in black leather jacket for this night!
Fun fact he wasn't wearing that parka this night - simple black leather biker jacket instead
Always wanted Liam's coat from this 😁
It does look cool, Liam looks very good in it (way better than the camo jacket he wore for most of July)
On Instagram, you can see that this jacket costs around £1200
Yeah you should buy it
Fun fact: He was wearing a black leather jacket for the actual gig in the recording. I was there, what a day!
sometimes i like his voices from 2002-2005, sounds more agressive and suits more in some songs like my generation, bring it on down !
You’re not wrong it can work on some songs. For me though, his voice just sounds muffled and strained whenever he goes for high notes.
Was still ok in 2002. After then until 2013 it was pretty ropey most of the time.
Nah it sounds more gruff sure but there’s barely any sustain and the high notes are ass. Timbre and delivery are still cool but night and day compared to 7 years earlier
Did they play 3 days in a row? Damn... GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Fucking in the Bushes intro always gets me going. AHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Oaaaaaasis baby!
🌌🎋星に願いを
You know people really shit on Heathen Chemistry, but goddamn this is probably their best setlist
Best live period
True, the tour’s setlist did rotate somewhat too throughout the tour like bringing back Married With Children and stuff. I’m not keen on Hung In A Bad Place really, but if Gas Panic was included in this set, I’d say it’s pretty much perfect!
@@Shakermaker94 Always loved Hung In A Bad Place, sounds very Rolling Stones
Great setlist and whereas I never listen to heathen chemistry, the hindu times, hung in a bad place, better man, little by little and even force of nature sound great live!
Absolutely!!!
Awesome that 21 years later we have “Aisis- The Lost Tapes” by Breezer. No longer do we have to suffer the fighting Gallagher brothers while we hope for an Oasis reunion.

Despite their comparisons to other bands for borrowing from them, as ALL bands do...There was only ever one Oasis and there will only ever be one Oasis. Magically delicious Rock N Roll.
This concert took place on my 2nd birthday
I was at one of the shows. It pissed it down with rain.
Love this version of she's electric, shame liam never sang it live and made noel sing it
Was there
on some songs like like hung in the bad Place + hello it reminds me of Liam night 1 Wembley except when he does that weird thing like slurring the last word or whatever, Finsbury Park has really impressed me for the era its in being their bland era of live performances but when they're good and wanting to they'll put the show in ...
I’ve noticed as the tour continues he seems to do it more for some reason. I don’t know why he does it, as it canes his voice even more.
@@Shakermaker94 maybe it was a way to finish the Verse without having to omit , I mean after ten years of regular smoking it wouldn't be surprising
Still fucking brilliant
@@streetdaniel2010 god damn yes!
STILL BRILLIANT ❤
40:43 - this is so painfully obvious how hard this may be for a singer with no professional training to withstand the pressure of the numerous relentless gigs... poor Liam
Was there….covered in mud ! Brilliant day.
41:39 brilliant solo 🗣️🔥
Fantastic show, only Morning Glory sounded kind of rough on Liam's voice.
oasis the last rock n'roll band!!!
Wish would could break the Wonderwall|Champagne Supernova Curse in America that's all the average person who knows of Oasis at all knows!!!
1:32:49 Meanwhile in a parallel universe:
51:47 live forever Solo
P.S. there has to be a video documentation for these shows. Anyone have any info?
Noël👍
Noel’s mic gets louder and louder as the years go by, doesn’t it?
It had to to make up for all the nights Liam couldn't be bothered, was too shit faced, coke up etc etc etc
Sometimes I just need to listen to this to let some fucking steam off 😂
can post one of the night when they played tokyo
2002?
Yeah I can upload it at some point, I’d recommend listening to Boot It Up for the moment though, as he’s uploaded those gigs already: czcams.com/channels/K0SvVVdSVdz0nM01ue02Ow.html
I feel bad that by this time Acquiesce started being played without the greatness it had before. Vocals, drumming, speed, even Noel's guitar were all falling apart.
Another belter, the start sounds like our local on a Sat Night, great up man,,, ( I'm off fa two wks, 22/08)ill convert that Wheatsheaf and totally forgot, have *Trentham Gardens, gig* not too good audio, nothing a bit ø "Audacity" or "Ad Auditions" won't solve *✌️So you'll have fun with them,, cheers again #liveforever
Have a good break, thank you for your generosity, whenever you feel like you’re ready to share it just say the word.
Thx Shak
Was this the Sunday? I can’t remember what date I went I think it was the third show tho - fuck knows it was immense whatever day
Went with my mate who did too much coke in the bogs and disappeared for the rest of the night! He never did tell us what happened……
biblical
Oasis is fantastic. They get a lot of crap but the songs are dope.
Biblical!
