❤ You are succinct in your instruction, yet always manage to give helpful tips. The videography is quick with detailed editing, allowing the viewer to see everything needed without unnecessarily long, repeated ‘yawns’. There is no boring chitty-chat about the weather or someone’s grandmother’s bunions. Since subscribing, I have dropped a half dozen or more other quilting UT’ers. Love your channel!

I am just finishing up my tree skirt using this pattern. I think it's turning out very nice ~ I cut my diamonds at 4" and the squares at 8" to make it a smaller version. Turned out great! I'm at the point where I am layering it with the batting and backing... My finished size will be about 48".
Your tutorial is wonderful! and you are a great teacher! My only thought is that I wish there was more direction on which way to press each seam so that the finished product is as smooth and flat as possible. Thank you very much for this pattern.

The one thing I REALLY admire about your teachings is that YOU EXPLAIN things just as though someone is watching AND/OR learning from you for the VERY first time....The fact that you explain in EACH video WHY you use a hand weight to make sure your rulers don't move is a wonderful thing to the NEW Quilter!!

I think this is one of the most technically informational videos you've made. The info about bias cuts and getting the grain to line up consistently is something I've never seen explained thoroughly before.
On a weird side note, when I can't sleep at night, I've found that turning your videos on at a very low volume helps me drift off. The sound of Donna's gentle, even voice and the hum of the sewing machine is very calming, like being a kid who's gone to bed and the parents are still quietly busy in another room.

Hello from sunny Scotland, UK. Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. This is the best explained and well described tutorial I have ever seen. I have made loads of round tree skirts but I am going to make this one because it is so stunning and unusual.
I have been quilting for many years and very much appreciate the amount of thought and work that you put into this tutorial. Thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous. Lighter and colored fabrics contrast to highlight the star shape . 🎄✨

Thank you for this video. My grandmother taught me to handsew 50 years ago as a little girl. After working 60+ hours per week, watching your sewing video(s) can be relaxing and creates a sense of desire for me to learn to sew. Watching you make this beautiful tree skirt has made me think I can do it. Your fabrics are beautiful. Your instructions clear and detailed. Can't wait to get started and make this for next year. It may take me that long as a rooky. Happy New Year!

Thanks for making this look easy and approachable - especially with the "y" seams. I also appreciate the thoughts on how Green towards the outside will blend in with the tree. I never would have considered that in fabric placement.
