something i realized that’s probably obvious:
the bionis’s theme is more orchestrated, almost no guitars in the actual song to symbolize it’s more nature and living.
the mechonis’ theme is more electric guitars to symbolize its more mechanical nature, with the violin to symbolize shulk and crew storming in

Yes! I noticed this symbolism from Engage the Enemy. I always love it when games do stuff like this in their games, along with using leitmotifs. Another example which comes to mind is Chrono Trigger (World Revolution) where Lavos's Theme is playing but then the heroic brass instruments come in like "yeah we're doing the impossible" but THEN the Chrono Trigger motif comes in and makes it all really HYPE. The placement of the various themes also feels like a battle between the heros and Lavos. Genius

@@Nakix4 several actually! The main theme doubles as "Shulk and Fiora" which is the love theme. Riki has two themes which share the same melody. The day and night themes always have motifs of each other. All of the Colony 6 themes also share the same motif. There are more, I'm sure, but then there are also motifs between XC1 and 2, namely Counterattack with Engage the Enemy, and Torigoth with Hometown

He got me into System of a Down. Josh is a hard working clever bugger. He's off to university later in the year to learn how to be a mad scientist (maths and physics) 🖖🤘

That may be an unpopular opinion. It's 3 very same-y areas in a row, two of which are very large and all crawling with enemies but with scant sidequests. It's the least interesting part of the game for exploring and story (until you actually reach the top).
Dominic Jannazo I agree with you as mechonis core and central factory were both pretty lengthy and imo the best area in mechonis was agnirtha but sadly that was the shortest part of it all and it’s size kind of pales In comparison to the rest mechonis especially considering it was supposed to be a massive capital it would have been so fun to explore more of it

Shulk having "Mechanical Rhythm" as one of his passives in Future Redeemed was an extremely cool detail. Especially fitting since he now has a mechanical arm
True but shulk is a mechanic, it's always fitting of his character lol.
The moment I hear the combat music was replaced with this, combined with all the crazy events leading up until then, was the moment sealed my conclusion this is one of the most epic shit I have ever played.
Experiencing this game with the upgraded visuals and music has cemented it further as my favourite game of all time

Just got to the fallen arm in in the remake. With mechanical rhythm being one of my favs from the original, i definitely approve of this.

@Tsukiko Yukiji Oh, I loved the introduction of the Machina. I was pretty disappointed that we never got a playable Machina character, but the concept of a humanoid life form, especially one created in a mechanical image, (that is not quite an android) is really neat, especially considering the fact that they were born from two separate worlds in a sense. I would be really happy if a future Xenoblade game reintroduced the Machina, though I am skeptical that it will actually happen.

0:40 really did it for me. I stopped being overleveled in chapters 11+ so battles took slightly longer, and I was okay with it because of this part of the song. 😍
I also love how they have different battle themes when you are on the Bionis and Mechonis.

"Moebius Battle" can join this track that has the title of "could be a final boss theme" along with basically all the xenoblade 2 battle themes!
