I just put a Spirit 120 on an I7 12700KF, with liquid metal. With the CPU pulling 180 watts under load, it barely hits 75C. This, from a $38 dollar cooler. Amazing. Especially after what I spent two years ago for the NH-D15 in my other machine.

Was waiting for this! Expected the results to be not too dissimilar. I don't know if there is much purpose to having this many models for Thermalright, though. It could be confusing the consumer.

I think their strategy is to flood the market with many different models of coolers to increase sales. All of them are good, but the differences between these dual fan models are very minimal. Basically just figure out which model is the cheapest and get that, whether it be one of these or one of the peerless assassin models.

First review comparing the two, good stuff! Interesting how the SE scales better despite there being less mass in the heatsink (765g vs 810g) and I'd assume, less fins. Also the variation in fans despite using the same models; both use TL-C12 V2.
Maybe they changed the base/heatpipe layout somehow as well that affected thermals. The more condensed fin stack.. or even the fans themselves. Thermalright did recently change their manufacturing to their internal factories I think last year iirc. In any case no buyers remorse from me, as I have the SE and there being a negligable difference outside aesthetics :)

Yeah, they seem perfectly acceptable (especially given the price) whichever one you get.

@@pc_analytics I also wonder why you put the SE version in first place and i cant find the non-SE in your overall Top 10. Oserwise thank you very much for your amazing job.

@@daddyhexsof4816 I haven’t updated the top list yet, but the top list is purely based on data. However, I do prevent variations of the same cooler from showing up on the top list, so only one version of the ps120 will be on the list. However, the non SE version is cheaper without much performance difference, so I prioritize that version.

Why do you think SE version performs better at high load when in should be the opposite (it has fewer fins)? My theory is that SE has different fans.

I may be picky here. Do you think the difference in temperature and noise level might fall in the normal test accuracy tolerance. It might need multiple tests and median data to exclude any potential test data variance.
