    My question is, how many IPPs can one have especially for those who are in the informal sector/ contractual/ self employed.

    That insurance thing has refused to make sense to me especially that part of,"Incase of" then in the absence of "Incase of" and the period elapsed, the money is gone. This part weakens my joints.

    So informative. I do have an insurance but never thought it as an investment.
    The company I work with it does take some amount but it’s tied to give it not give based on how you leave the company. They don’t call it pension scheme.
    I wanted to ask how do I ask them to make it a pension money ??

    Thank you Rina, I have always felt there is a gap in the market around this. However I believe we need to go back to the grass roots. Are we empowering employees with the right knowledge on how the pension schemes work. As a 20 some'n year old joining a company with a nice pension scheme where say the employer matches or contributes more, all I know is money is leaving my net pay but do I understand the importance and if say I'm laid off, how do I keep off sticky fingers from touching this pension. I believe it starts with training people on this. Some will withdraw because the lack the know how and get surprised when they realize how much tax they had to pay for it.

    Assuming I have an pension plan with my employer with a retirement age of 70 years. I also have 2 other individual pension plans. Can I access my first individual pension plan at 50yrs(minimum age of access) and second individual pension plan at 60yrs and 70yrs from my employer?

      Hi Rina,for the pension thought the policies changed to only getting your benefits once you ACTUALLY retire as opposed to when u change employers

    • @OctagonAfricaGroup
      @OctagonAfricaGroup Před 4 lety

      Hello @Joyce Aloo,
      The law has evolved over time and actually allows room to access your benefits as follows;
      a) Exit (Resignation, Dismissal): Access of 100% employee portion and 50% employer
      portion
      b) Early Retirement / Normal Retirement: 1/3 Lump sum and 2/3rd accessible as
      pension.
      c) Ill-Health Benefits: Payable subject to approval and submission of a medical
      report on the basis of mental or physical disability.
      d) Emigration : Full benefits subject to relocation, proof of citizenship and approval
      by trustees and the regulator
      e) Transfer of Benefits : Benefits subject to the rules of the new fund NOT taxable
      on transition.

    I love your content. Very informative, but you sound disingenuous in your interviews. You're an investment banker and a director in a huge investment bank. I wonder why the things he's saying are surprising to you.
