    Haven't read all the comments....but. ... The "Please Wait" is an easy fix. Pull the power plug and then plug back in while the unit is on. This is a network issue. If you have reset your router or modem, lost internet...this happens. Maybe it will be fixed in a future firmware.

    All these reviewers should revisit these receivers after a year or after all the firmware updates and let everyone know what's fixed and what's not. Otherwise, most aren't going to know how they sound and work after the updates. I'm looking for a receiver now. I have the Pioneer 505, Denon x4800h, Sony 5000es and just took back the Arcam AVR11 which sounded incredible, but no app, everything about it was difficult. Not to mention it was defective. I would love to own one, but man, the issues you have to deal with. The rest of them just work!

    OK, look man. I was kinda dismayed by the lack of fullness and bass in my Pioneer 505 (and 305 before that). Today i added a Fosi Audio Box X4. Currently with the stock tubes that came in the box (5654). And i gotta say, DAYUM!!! The bass is really full and sound is warm with sweet highs and well pronounced mids!! This is plugged to my Audio Tech LP120XBT (which has a internal preamp) so i had to connect to the CD jacks instead of the phono jacks. But any reservations i had about the Pioneer are gone! I'm going to upgrade the tubes and see how much deeper the bass bumps at lower volumes. I might not even need a subwoofer cus it pushes my four 15's Just fine! I haven't checked with the neighbors to see if they are upset by the new upgrade..lol I'll keep ya posted....

    i returned the first LX505 because the chip had gotten corrupted as a result of a speaker wire short. Got the replacement and have been very pleased. But then I ordered and connected a Tonewinner AD7300PA + and have been even my pleased and impressed, i do wish i could control the crossovers independently and the subs were separated but those aren't deal breakers. In Australia the Onkyo RZ50 was 200.00 more than the Pioneer. I've had no trouble getting into the menu. If i would warn about anything it would be about speaker connections and wire shorts, which can be potentially disastrous

    I have a SC-LX501 and it also suffers from the "Please Wait" issue. I just received a RZ50 yesterday and guess what? After one day it froze on me during Dirac setup saying "Now Initializing". Se issue. I pulled the plug. No dice. I had to do a factory reset and disabled all bluetooth and network functionality just in case. The RZ50 would be a near perfect AVR at this price but I am not going to deal with this issue AGAIN so I returned it with a heavy heart. Maybe it won't happen again now that I disabled BT and NET but I am not going to take my chances. The only reason I can't let go of my SC-LX501 is the class d amp.

    I am having issues with getting HDMI to stay connected when hooked to an LG TV. I have my Sony DN1080 hooked to all same connections on my LG and it works. Hook up the LX505 to the LG CX and it works for a bit then the HDMI connection continually drops out. Have the LX505 connected to a Samsung and it works great. Cant figure out where the compatibility issue exists. I have fought with LG and Pioneer and each blame the other LOL what a disaster. Expensive receiver and I cannot get it to function with my LG CX without dropping out the HDMI handshake.
    Any ideas?

    • @CC-um5cu
      @CC-um5cu Před rokem

      Mack, as we all know every receiver has its pitfalls. None get away unscathed, so I think you have to pick and choose your poison. I the past month I returned an Onkyo TXN 6100 not because it didn't work, it did, but it claims to be a 100-Watt receiver but acts like a 50 watt. Then I went with a Yamaha RX A2A and that was by far the worst experience with respect to home theater. It does produce the stated wattage, but you can forget about home theater. Not happening.
      Thinking about the big picture and my previous experience with Denon 10 years ago I’m going to give Pioneer a try. While it’s owned by Klipsch/Onkyo it doesn’t seem to have that many issues. The Onkyo TX-RZ while it looks great it’s not within my own budget even at today’s discount of $1,299.00.
      Its really a crap shoot with the new technology so sometimes you must take a chance and hope you get a non-buggy/glitchy receiver.

    I have that same issue, but not as bad. I hit the Home Screen multiple times and eventually it loads up. I might have to sell this return to a Denon. I bought this because it is suppose to work with Sonos. But there is something goofy going on where it seems to get stuck at one volume and it says ride volume, but I can’t change it via the Sonos or pioneer app or the volume. I think the deal killer is the app and control over zone 2 outdoor speakers. As far as I can tell there is no control over zone 2 with the app. I see a zone 2 slider under set up, but have no idea what it does. Since Sonos is assigned to my CD HDMI port I can’t even switch to zone 2 with my remote. I still don’t know if I can watch TV on the main and listen to my Sonos on zone 2. Have no way of figuring it out. My demon for 8 years ago makes it very easy to turn and off zone and what is played and volume control via the app. The sound is good, but this zone 2 think makes me feel like I have to sell it as used. Also I find myself unplugging and plugging it back in a bit and not sure the eArc is fully functioning with my TV.
