would 💯 watch that
Dom had a show called Doms Wild Things where he did just that 😀
Your wish came true:)
Yes :-) EXACTLY😀👍👍👍
Billy “why is there anything?” 😂😂
I took in 3 stray cats during the pandemic, best decision ever. They never attack & are very appreciative. It was -20 a lot this winter in Ontario, Canada.
Love to hear that, I have 3 rescues as well.
I didn't want one, but the previous owner of my house just abandoned her cat here. So now his name is Durin and I feed him every day.
@@jordanlr1577 awesome 👌
The dolphins aren't aliens, they're just more intelligent than humans in Hitchhiker's Guide. And that is second only to LotR in my fave books list
Reasoning that discretion was the better part of valor, and that cowardice was the better part of discretion, Zaphod valiantly hid in the closet.
I love this show because it is absolutely ridiculous sometimes. Like the email jingle and Dom's love of mastication and it's importance.
Billy’s facial expressions make me laugh so much 🤣🤣🤣
Merry and Pippin with superpowers would change the whole story.
The side cameras during Eat the World are hilarious. 😂
Actually so many great moments this week. I really love this podcast and I love you guys. Thank you. 💕🌟
For Dom's wish, let me give you the Monkey's Paw twist. You can turn into anything, but you'll only be able to do it once. You could be a dragon, a dust mite, an elephant, anything; but choose wisely because once you make the choice and change, you are stuck as whatever you changed into and cannot change back.
Amazes me that Dom has never read "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". HILARIOUS book series!
“ what do you call that horse with the thing” lmao
I sometimes say Boily Bid. It makes me feel incandescent🤣
I just had my second breakfast while watching while this new episode of The Friendship Onion 😁
I love Billy and Dom
I love Pippin and Merry
Billy and Dom climb the world! I'd watch that.
Merry & Pip do have super powers in LOTR…they can smoke an insane amount of weed. 😆
It's funny Billy mentions being afraid cats will attack him, when I've found that most cats avoid you if you ignore them, but dogs are the ones getting ALL up in your business and sticking their snouts where the sun don't shine. 😂
The answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything is already known: 42
I love Dom's elegant solution to the 'three wishes' problem.
The answer to your philosophical "what is life" question, guys, is 42.
(I just love how the video started w/ Hitchhiker's Guide and then you asked this haha)
But the universe is fundamentally flawed. The question doesn't necessarily match the answer.
54 being the alternative answer.
The second greatest computer said 42, and the #1 greatest computer generates 54.
Whether the Golgafrinchams have messed it all up by being there? Maybe.🤣
Omggg Dunkaroos....wow the nostalgia. Also spot-on cat description; I'll feed my little kit-ten and she looks at me like "umm...ex-cu-uuuse me, that food is *not* fit for a queen. Humph. *nose turned up*". So true though that there's a satisfaction in earning their trust and love. Dog affection is another kind of amazing. In my book they're both the best. Thanks as always guys for making Tuesdays brighter!
Merry and Pippens superpowers would be to drink and smoke as much as they want!
Lol, Billy, you should have said, "my other car's a Prius"! 😄
(Love that you did that, btw)
This instantly became one of my favorite podcasts ever with two of the funniest and most charming duos in all of pocastingdom. Can't wait for when Billy can make his way over to Tiger Belly. and also for when the Trinity is reformed yet again when Elijah returns.
I never thought I'd see the day that Dom would talk about Billy's pre-marital romps, but here we are.
My cats love food time. If i am 1 minute late, they start harassing the crap out of me.
Biting my calves while i am trying to pee, sticking their paws in my mouth when asleep, a claw up the nose and a wet nose to the eye.
I also sit with my hands ready to protect the crotch.
I love my cats.
i totally forgot dom was in x-men! would love to see the return of that character
Douglas Adams was a phenomenal author. I like the Dirk Gently novels myself.
Peanut butter and Nutella sandwich. Peanut butter on bread with Nutella on another slice of bread then eat it or if you want something else in the middle put slices of banana in the sandwich and go nuts. I did that alot. I love Nutella.
42
I am a Donald from Scotland, not the one with the shite, I hope. loads of time for you boys x
If I ever get the chance to meet Dom, I'm going to say, "Aren't you Kalimac Brandagamba?" (Merry's actual name in the Westron tongue, see the Appendices) and blow his mind!
5:14 Billy is lucky to have both a wife & a boyfriend who get along so well
Lol him talking to the extended car warranty lady. I love these guys so much. I rarely laugh in life as hard as I do watching this show. Guaranteed laughs from the bottom of my lungs. I love you guys!
I'm a dog person but I've worked with cats for about 8 years now. Most of them are sweet, they just show love in a different way than dogs. And they can be so calming. Napping with a purring cat nearby = the height of relaxation.
Love this podcast ! The brave Hobbits are my favorite (especially Merry and Pippin) but Dom when you referred to Eddie Izzard w her correct pronoun, my love and admiration for you multiplied!
I learned something today… don’t tell Billy ANYTHING! 😆
That was an absolutely wonderful riddle, Billy you may need to check the wattage on the bulb in your bathroom, because the amount of heat it's generating is not right. And Dom, did you get the name Gorbash for your dragon from the movie flight of dragons?
As someone who has to spell and pronounce AND EXPLAIN his last name on a daily basis I appreciate the name discussion to start off the show
So your last name is Spanish for spoon but with an Italian accent?
@@oriricha not exactly. It's an Italian name and very common in south Italy and Sicily. But I live in Germany where it is hard to pronounce and spell for the most people
@@leonardocucchiara4782 but it means spoon, right? Like a type of big spoon?
@@oriricha yes ritght. Like a big wooden spoon you would use for cooking
That faecal matter story is comedy gold.
My loves!
I'm in love with you😍❤🌷
For sure Dom gets called “Mary” but can we talk about the people who spell Pippin as “Pippen” as in Scottie Pippen? 😭 I have yet to see Billy’s skills on the court if that’s how it’s gonna be 🤣
I still don't understand the difference in pronunciation...
Thank you both for bringing beloved characters to life for this Middle Earth geek! Especially Billy, as Pippin is who I always related with the most growing up; I still remember watching Fellowship for the first time and thinking 'they nailed casting Pippin' and by the Return/King I was so captivated by how the genuine chemistry between you both brought both characters truly to life! Even better, it's still seeing the strong bonds and relationships continue in a way, just as Merry and Pippin continued to stay close long after the story of The LOTR came to an end. So wonderful to still get to hear both of your voices together. It's my sunshine on a cloud day!!
Infrasound is sound too low-pitched for humans to hear, but if it’s loud enough we can feel it. It’s actually linked to a lot of supposed ghost sightings: there’s something a person can sense, but it’s outside the brain’s typical wheelhouse, so it makes up something (shadowy figures in the corner of the eyes, vague feelings of terror, etc.)
THE VERY FIRST PODCAST I'VE EVER SUBSCRIBED TO! The very first anything I've ever subscribed to, aside from Mad Magazine. I grew up reading Tolkien, raised my children with the books and movies, visited NZ with my family in 2005, was on the North Island and the Big Island, toured Hobbiton, Rohan, etc. When I found this podcast, I wept because I felt like I found my friends again. LOTR is our cinematic mainstay; it literally touches our souls. I want to send a gift to each of you, because you brighten my days so much!! What's the address to send? Shalom and G-d bless you both; I'm hooked!
Thanks, Dominic! Thanks, Billy! 🧅
Cats aren't particularly "warm", but they all have their own personalities. I miss volunteering at my nearest cat shelter, but I'm so stressed out I don't want to make them anxious.. It's worth getting to know any animal imo.
i feel like my cat/s are very sensitive to when im stressed actually! my one cat in particular gets very cuddly and does a healing type of purr which is so sweet of her tbh. cats can take the human stress as long as ur still willing to play/feed them/give pets/cuddle ! (disclaimer, i am not a vet or anything just an often stressed cat owner lmao)
@@ericaschoenberg7782 awhh that is very cute. I agree, they can tolerate most levels of stress from hoomin, but I'm high maintenance let's say. Haha I need to focus on myself for a bit to feel normal again sometimes.
THATS MY FAVORITE JOHN DENVER SONG
The answer to Life, The Universe and Everything is obviously 42. Billy, you read the book, you should know that :)
48:42 Dom: "It's got a 'D' on it, which is like my name: Dom...in case you've forgotten." Lol Dom, you're so cute 😂🥰❤
Great show, as always, and thank you! I love listening to you guys in my car when I'm on the go, and enjoy watching you and home. This was a particularly interesting episode. I'd never heard of that Russian hiking mystery, egads! I know of the Donner Pass incident. No mystery there, but certainly horrifying enough (cannibalism), particularly when I had to drive right by it once going over the Sierras (CA, USA). But I really liked the bit about if you could have someone answer one of life's mysteries, what would it be? I have a personal one. When I was a small child, about 5 or so, with a younger brother about 3 then, there was a Christmas morning incident that remains an abiding mystery to this day. My brother and I got up super early one Christmas morning, before the dawn even, and quietly crept out to the living room to check out presents under the tree. All the lights were off, of course. The only light was from a street light coming in through the bay window. After gloating over all the gifties, we then went to the fireplace to check out our stockings. And then stopped dead. There, suspended in the middle of the fireplace was a small round red ball of light. We looked at each other in surprise and without a word, spun around, ran back to our beds and pulled the covers over our heads until our mother got us up much later. Nothing was said then, not by parents, and we didn't discuss it as kids. Many years later, as adults, the family was sitting around the dining table having just finished the Christmas day dinner and started talking about Christmases past. I remembered the red light ball incident and asked my brother if he remembered. He looked surprised for a moment and then said yes. We finally asked Mom about it then, she had no idea what we were talking about (parents divorced when we were kids, Dad wasn't at this dinner). We considered Dad had maybe played a trick on us and rigged up something, but this would have been back in the mid 60s and my Dad was a lawyer. Tools, electrical, mechanical stuff was not his forte. Besides, there's no way he could have done something like that and kept quiet about it. At least he would have expected us to say something, to ask about it. We never did. You know how when you're a kid, there are unspoken rules about stuff, right? The big one is, or was, never EVER endanger the presents. So we never asked our parents as kids. We certainly thought it was Santa related back then. Maybe Rudolph signaling to Santa or something? But what the HECK could be the real story? All lights off in the house. Fireplaces are non-reflective. Dad, not inclined for rigging up mystery lights...
My answer to the riddle: Simple; Look Under the Door/Make a hole in the wall.
OMG the car warranty robo call LOL. I get those all the time.
32:07 the dragon (ddraig) is of course the emblematic animal of Cymru
I was thinking red hot chilly peppers too!
How do you not have more subscribers love listening to the podcast and glad I found this channel! If you ever find yourself in wales I’ll take you both for a pint!
I liked the podcast instantly but when I found the CZcams version, I knew I’d never go back.
It's been less than a year since they started doing this, so I think they're doing pretty well with subs.
Business card reads: Domaghan, Party Dragon
The riddle answer that I came up with: If all the lights are turned off and you want them all on just flick the switches the other way
Dunkaroos were a lunch box staple for me growing up. My favourite had been the ones with the vanilla icing and chocolate cookies, but sadly they do not make that flavour any more. (I'm from Canada, hence the 'u' in flavour).
Thank you for doing the show every week!
“Hence the ‘u’ in flavour” made me smile!
The two guys in the show come from a place where flavour is spelt flavour too
1. I highly recommend listening to Stephen Fry read the first Hitchhiker's Guide.
2. I love the side glances during Billy and Dom Eat the World.
Stephen Fry makes everything better!
Greetings from Mexico city, following you guys every week🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Lol that first voicemail I’m the same way. Ever since I was a kid I don’t drink other people’s milk. There’s just something weird about it like it’s never the right temperature or something. Funny to hear I’m not alone!
I totally do the same thing when reading ingredients.
For what it's worth, vanilla Dunkaroos are far superior!
JUST DONT GO IN!! Open the door, look in, flip the switches!
Those are scientific names of ingredients, chemical names, on the Dunkaroos. Like, sodium chloride is salt. Many of those ingredients don't have common names. A chemist would be a good guest for your food questions. Lol. Also, bio-engineered or GMO is not inherently bad. Look up the history of golden rice. It has helped many people. Love listening to y'all! Can't wait to meet you at Dallas Fan Expo this summer!
Where can fans find out when and where these conventions are? An amateur question, must be, I know lol, but a total mystery to me haha
@@kathrynboland7975 honestly, I'm not sure. I went to the convention last year for anime related stuff for my kid and happened to find out that the hobbits were actually supposed to be there that year but had to cancel until this year. Probably the best thing to do would be to Google conventions in your area 🤷🏼♀️
My favourite dunkaroos were the vanilla and sprinkle frosting. Haha. They were awesome when we were kids and a rare treat in the lunch bag.
31:35 thinking about ridding an unicorn - Witcher 3 ^_^ :D
I just wanted to say thank you again, to whoever brought TFO and Tigerbelly together, finally! :D
Really made me happy to see Dom and Bobby and a little of Billy together :)
I spammed so often for this to happen, under this, Bobbys and even Rosenbaums podcasts.. 😅
And when it was up, i almost couldnt believe it and it was such a good episode, time went by so seemlessly and enjoyable and it was one of the longest TB episodes in a long while as well, even though you didnt even talk about LotR that much ;)
Sorry if thats a bit much but that really made me happy :) looking forward to Bobby bringing some durian fruit for you guys on your show! ;D
A whole LotR love 🧅🧅+😴🤴=❤
I loved how much we found out about Dom during Tigerbelly. He'd been engaged, his various preferences, watching him navigate the viewer quesion...ahem! He was so candid!
I was pleasantly surprised to see Dom on Tiger Belly too! I loved watching them both bond.
I totally agree, I can’t wait for Bobby to com here
I would watch Billy and Dom conquer Everest
I've never seen Dunkaroos with chocolate frosting. The traditional that everyone ate was the white vanilla frosting.
Monoglycerides are used to improve shelf life (fatty acid), and occur naturally in *some* foods (probably not Dunkaroos, lol)
The answer is 42.
the answer is flip one switch. wait 2 minutes and flip another. go into the room. the hottest bulb is the one you switched first. the warm one is the second, and the cold one is the third
Dunkaroos are LIFE. you should try the vanilla with sprinkles.
Just going to gloss over that his mother drinks spoiled milk 🥛 😂
I actually got the riddle right away. Normally I'm an idiot when it comes to riddles, I'm pretty proud of myself for this.
I have the exact same answer to the superpower question is Dom! For the three wishes I also had the idea of some sort of chest or container that gives you whatever you ask if, which is basically giving you another genie that has no rules.
That dunkaroos segment was a whirlwind. 😂 I wonder if the guys will still get paid after saying it tastes like chemicals and proceeding to talk about Nutella and poop stories. I was rolling.
Little insight on the bioengineered food ingredient thing- I work for a company that manufactures labels, and it’s a new legal requirement that came into effect this year that you have to display if your product contains bioengineered food ingredients. Keep an eye out, because you’ll likely be seeing that A LOT more often. You’d be surprised how many prepared foods contain bioengineered food ingredients
You guys should try the vanilla frosting dunkaroos. You might like those better
An all knowing being has come to Earth and explained everything. His name is Jesus🙂
Hmm. I saw those very same Dungaroos at the dollar store a few hours ago. Lol
I loved Gorbash in the film The Flight of Dragons. Guess Dom did too!!🐲😁
To the "what question would you ask to the all knowing being" my question is WHERE DID THE ENT WIVES GO
Billy. Are you sure the bulb in your bathroom isn't a heat lamp? 😁
Subscribing now so I can hear the other poo story lol
Great show guys. When Dom tells his poo story after 200k subscribers you should arrange to host Dax Shepherd. He apparently has a few poo stories and seems more than enthused to relate to others through those experiences.
Some suggested foods from South Carolina (I know you had Stephen Colbert on already and he had boiled peanuts): grits (cooked with heavy cream, half and half, & butter), or homemade pimento cheese (good cracker or vegetable dip). Also red rice and sausage is amazing. Takes work. Made with tomato paste, bacon, sausage, peppers, and onions. Wonderful meal. None of these suggestions are healthy though!
Just love you two. When talking about Unicorns and Lions you made me think of the nursery rhyme. Do you know what the Lion and the Unicorn nursery rhyme is about? Just wondering since it is from your neck of the woods.
Just like halflings in d&d they should both be superpowerfully Lucky... I think that bears out in the story even though obviously they faced Very hard odds.
Also, I guess it's not invisibility... but Not being Noticed... Hobbits managed to avoid a lot of the troubles of Middle Earth just not being noticed...
White frosting with sprinkles dunkeroos are where it’s at… I don’t remember chocolate lol I swear I saw them at Target the other day???
Dom I no wat it’s like wen it comes to having a silent letter in either 1st name or surname. In my maiden surname name which is Evdjenic, the D is silent and its from Yugoslavia. Wish I could meet u and Billy love ur podcast, PS yes I am and always will be a massive fan not only for ur show but for also been the best actors on LOTR’s ❤
For the lady who wants to know about that expedition in russia, Josh Gates did a special episode of Expedition Unknown on this subjet.
Good guys are magnificent and I am such a huge fan! I finally found your podcast this week at work this week. If you ever need a 5th for League of Legends you can invite Funshine Bear!
The answer to life ,the galaxy and everything is 42..
Are you two always this crazy?
Mary and Merry are the same name and both used for women in America
The snow beast.
The lightbulb riddle is on an Asian thriller/action/drama show on Netflix! It's if the lightbulb is HOT, it was the one you turned on. ;)
Can’t wait to play as dom in Lego Star Wars!!!
Good episode, as always. I would love to have Peter Jackson here and I think it'll be cool to invite someone that works in the casting department of movies and shows. LotR cast is the best ever and I'm curious about the criteria(?) the casting people follow when they hire someone for a role.
