Greatest podcast ever, I love Tuesdays
Here's some of the tongue twisters for you guys
    1. How much ground would a groundhog hog, if a groundhog could hog ground? A groundhog would hog all the ground he could hog, if a groundhog could hog ground.
2.Betty Botter bought some butter but, said she, the butter’s bitter.
If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter will make my bitter batter better.
So she bought some better butter, better than the bitter butter,
put it in her bitter batter, made her bitter batter better.

It wasnt on purpose, because we were little children and are from germany, so we had no understanding of english at all, but my father raised me and my little sister with music of his time (mainly around the 70s, i was born 94 and my sister in 96) and i remember that we always wanted to hear the "eikibo"/"i kee bow"-song, which referred to the "i keep blowing down the road" part of Call me the Breeze (the JJ Cale version) ❤
And we LOVED 'Raggle Taggle Gypsy' from The Waterboys where we literally didnt know what was going on, but we loved it ;D

I had a friend back in the 80's that was from southern California, and he had the stereotypical surfer-dude accent. He used to use the word TACO interchangeably with any noun. One time we were hanging out checking out albums from bands we liked, and he wanted to look at one I was holding, so he said "Hand me that taco" and we had no Mexican food there.

As for wrong lyrics, I've got one that lots of Dutch speaking people get wrong. In "wanna be starting something" from Michael Jackson, there's a part going 'mama say mama sa mama coosa'. In Holland and Belgium, a lot of people go: mama say mama sa mama appelsap', and that last word is basically the dutch word for apple juice.
Another one I like is "My hero" from Foo Fighters. The correct lyrics are 'There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes. There goes my hero. He's ordinary' but one could also sing 'There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes. There goes my hero. He's old and hairy.' Love the podcast, love Lord of the Rings, love you guys!

Apples arent the only fruit to contain cyanide. Apparently nectarines, pears, plums, peaches, black cherries, red cherries, apricots and greengages also contain it in their seeds and pips. The molecule in these fruits are called amygdalin which turns into hydrogen cyanide during decomposition or digestion. Apples contain around 3mg per gram of amygdalin whereas apricots contain 14.4mg per gram and greengages contain 17.5mg per gram.

Loved Mark Ordesky in the "making of" LOTR videos. He was hilarious. So quick-witted, with such a dry sense of humour and so damned funny. But really, really smart, too. So many times, the behind-the-scenes people - though they work in and on wildly creative projects - are themselves colourless as can be. But almost ALL the folks associated with LOTR are bigger-than-life characters, themselves - like Richard Taylor, Barry Osborne - and Mark Ordesky. Such a treat to watch them all do what they do so well. But Mark was definitely the one who made me laugh right out loud a lot of the times. "Peter IS a sneaky bastard" - said without any rancor, but just total wryness - when Peter manoeuvred him into declaring that "The Return of the King" premier would be held in Wellington. I chuckle every time I think of it . . .

In English, there's a plethora of words for Da Kine. I could ask you to pass me the thing over there by the stuff, or to hand he the thingamajig (also known as the thingamabob) sitting on the whatchamacallit, next to the doohickey.
Looking for an adjective there is so-so, or just the general "eeh" or "meh".
With English it seems to be more so there are so many words and synonyms that we don't "Have A word for it" but there are many different words or phrases that can hit their mark; and if not, someone will make one up (also see "Kajigger" "Whatsiwhosit" "Thingyjigger")

Imagine if there was just slightly differently minded people at the pitch. We might not have gotten LOTR at all and millions upon millions of peoples lives would have gone differently. Regarding apple seeds: Apples, as well as relatives such as apricots, bitter almonds, peaches, cherries, and plums, contain in their seeds/pits/stones the chemical amygdalin. If the seeds are crushed when eaten, they react with stomach acid to form hydrogen cyanide as a defense mechanism

It seems like it would be advantageous to the apple tree to have seeds swallowed whole with the fruit & excreted by a bird or animal, but that the cyanide would be useful to discourage animals that might break & eat the seeds in a way that renders them unviable, such as a mouse nibbling or a caterpillar chewing...?

It doesn't hurt to eat the apple seeds as most of the time (unless you bite into it) your digestion doesn't break and damage the seed (speculating, it may be something to keep animals who eat them to not damage the seed while it eats it, although apples, as we know them are not natural, they were invented by the greeks** ). If the seeds are bitten into, the 200 apples statistic applies, but otherwise you're good.
**Only crabapples are natural, and modern apples are made by grafting branches between crabapple and other fruit trees. You cannot *grow* an apple tree
