MEDITERRANEAN BAKED FETA | A Seriously Good Appetizer Recipe!

- This Mediterranean-baked feta is officially my signature appetizer for dinner parties and entertaining. Besides being super easy to make, each scoop is the perfect bite of warm and soft feta cheese with an herb-infused green olive and sun-dried tomato topping.
If you follow trends on social media, you know that baked cheese is all the rage - and I’m here for it! My baked brie is popular during the holidays, but this baked feta is great year-round. And while baked feta pasta might be popular on social media, this Mediterranean-baked feta is my personal favorite go-to recipe. It’s robust in flavor and requires very little effort - and who doesn’t love that? This simple dish represents my favorite style of cooking and it’s something you’ll find across all of my Mediterranean recipes.

This has been my go-to appetizer for the past couple of years....DELICIOUS, and simple. I also make mine with both black and green olives as well as sometimes with regular halved cherry tomatos instead of sundried tomatos, or sometimes with both. Either way still delicious. I serve it up on rustic Italian bread slices, or pita bread.

Thank you!! Definitely going to try this. I love quick and easy appetizers served with baguettes and a charcuterie board. Caponata is a summer favorite here if you like eggplant, and it stores well in the fridge. I also keep a supply of marinated artichokes/Kalamata olives/sundried tomatoes/capers in my pantry and can whip up a quick meal with either bow tie pasta served as a cold salad or warm dinner using the marinate as a dressing, or also good on white beans or garbanzo beans or butter beans if you need a vegetarian dish. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful CZcams recipes. Love your book too!

This sounds amazing! I never liked olives either until about 6 months ago. I’d pick them out of everything. I’m not sure what happened, but all of a sudden I’m obsessed with Kalamata olives. I’ll have to try the green ones you recommended.😊

I love green olives and pineapple on pizza , not a fan of black olives , but I would definitely make this appetizer!
If you love green olives, this is a must! 🙂
The only good ones are Morroccan blk.olives -'brined' in olive oil -soaked or dry. But used in a dish -sparingly or in haves reflects deep earthy tones.
Normal canned blk olives seem not very palatable -due to the canning process or the additives added.
If one loves them and consumes quite a bit of em in one sitting can empty a room of people after awhile similar to after eating pork n' beans.
My block of feta didn’t get as soft and creamy (as spreadable) as yours when I baked it. Did I do anything wrong?

To anyone thinking about making this recipe, or if you’re on the fence - MAKE THIS! It is one of the most flavorful recipes I have ever tried. I cannot believe how good this is. As it was baking, my husband said it smelled like pizza. As it was just the 2 of us, we did not eat it in one sitting, but it was gone in 24 hours. Do your taste buds a favor, and try this recipe. You'll probably need to substitute the olives with another ingredient such as roasted red bell peppers or more sundried tomatoes!

Olives all are toooo icky salty. I literally hate salt never use it.
Can you substitute the tomatoes for anything else that's less acidic. They ruin my tummy 😖
You can sub it with grapes instead! Roasted grapes taste amazing and will add a hint of sweetness as well.

There is no viable substitute because the olives, tomatoes and herbs are Mediterranean staples that makes this appetizer what it is.
Try using bread cheese. It is this pre-baked cheese that gets gooey when you heat it up. Yumm!
