If you glow plugs work properly then you don’t have to run your battery dead trying to get the truck to actually start and if your where to use the glow plug hearted that some trucks come with for the intended purpose then it makes things 10 times easier

neither my 7.3, 6.0, or either of my 6.7's started badly in negative Temps. only time I had a problem was one of my 7.3's glow plug solenoid cracked and wouldn't start when I purchased it. besides that. new glow plugs and solenoid, 250/200% injectors and some other goodies never had a problem with it. my 6.7 is compound non vgt, dual fueler with both cp4 and cp3 30% over with 100% over injectors, -15 before windchill and starts right up, never skipped a beat.

I was honestly expecting Old-school Diesel to be a 6.9 IDI or a Cummins 12 value.

My 6.0 starts on the second turn. Now it does take a sec for all of the injectors to get flowing smoothly when it’s cold though.

INTERNAL THOUGHT 💭 “the 6.0 powerstroke isn’t old” realization it’s been 16 years since it’s been in a pickup and 13 in the vans/450/550

Let's just crank on the starter until the glow plugs warm up. Or you're not building pressure to the injectors fast enough. Prob a leak. Either way, something is being done wrong.

It can be 20below and my cousins 2005 f350 with a 6.0 fires right up. No bullshit about it
Often times when they crank crank crank like that the Hpop pump is bad. The high pressure fuel pump that is on top of motor

Meanwhile my 02 dmax that i put remote start on starts just as smooth as that 6.7. Its chipped, tuned, and straight piped and still starts like that at 5 degrees.
