  • Neighbor pays to have this eyesore cleaned up because it makes the neighborhood look unkempt and he's in the process of putting his home for sale. This overgrown lawn will be removed from over the sidewalk to make it more presentable.

Anyone notice, that's the 2nd time that black car has gone by? Wonder what the people in the house thought of the sidewalk after job done. I'd be happy if a neighbor was nice enough to do for me. sometimes elderly people just can't keep up with things like this as they age, simple as it might be. Excellent job by the way!

  • @DonaldAJr

That's some amazing, hard, and back breaking work you did there. I just find it amazing that you was able to do that on one battery per piece of equipment and the edger seemed like it could have did 10 more jobs just like it. I'm really blown away by how amazing you are. It's just too bad people don't care about the property they live in. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a rent house because I have one across a street that looks just as bad.
In the past years I have done my neighborhood yard and I'm paralyzed in a wheelchair. Using a actual power chair and a weed eater. The edgers are two cumbersome from me.

So sorry that you're unable to do your lawn. I sympathize with you bc when my father couldn't do his lawn anymore, it was very hard for him. Mowing was therapeutic for him, as it is for most people who take pride in their lawn. That's when the family took over. I began to love mowing just as he did. It gives a sense of pride & accomplishment after your finished! Here is when others need to step up for you to help. Maybe some kind gentleman could help you also.

    • @DonaldAJr

@@graciemaca6996 I'm deeply sorry but you didn't properly read my message. Maybe you got the who's who and the what's what mixed up. If you read this I hope that this helps.
1: I'm paralyzed from a construction accident on 10-02-1998 at the age of 21 years old. I just turned 45 years old.
2: From the age of 15 to 18 I worked at 2 different lawn maintenance companies over the 3 seasons in the Kansas City Missouri area. I grew up in Grandview Missouri.
3: I have a 42" Commercial Gravely Zero Turn Mower and I still climb on it to mow if my girlfriend doesn't beat me to it. I can't use it half as good as I could a walk behind but that's irrelevant lol.
4: I also have a 2-Cycle Toro Weed Eater, Edger combination, that I can also hook my Pole Saw into, and then the Rototiller attachment. I abuse it for a person paralyzed from the waist down (T-12 spinal cord injury).
5: Granted the last couple of years I just can't do all the Twisting and Turning necessary to do it myself.
6: I bought this house 16 years ago and over all the years I've been here I've weed eated both my neighbors yards more than they have. Neighbor to the South is the second person (Don & Dennis) and the North is the third person (never met the first person, then Jennifer, & now Kasey who's been here for 2 years). Granted my new neighbor to the North personally maintains his yard now better than I take care of mine now but he's way more financially able to do so. I use my battery powered sprayer for weeds and he pays someone. The last 2 years I've paid someone every 2 weeks to do the edging and weed eating.
If you get to read this, I hope this draws a better or fuller picture of the situation and I can't remember the ladies name across the street. She push mows it and I've taken my zero turn mower over there and done the front yard to help her out. I don't remember ever getting a Thank You but this is 15 of the 16 years. It's also made my life a living hell with weed seeds so this last summer I decided, never again. I'm way too nice to people and it's like I just can't make myself stop.

I’m new to the channel, but I have been binge watching it over the last few days. I’m no professional more of a hobbyist when it comes to yardwork and remember what it was like doing this on my own yard took me about 2 hours and was just as bad as this one if not worse. Also anytime anyone ask you why you switch to electric you should send him straight to this video because every time you had to restart the edger it took 10 to 20 seconds and as they say time is money plus I believe your new set up cuts much better. Keep up the good work you’ve got a sub from me.

I assume this is not A HOA neighborhood. The buyer is going to look at the surrounding homes and make a decision whether to buy. The future buyer is going to look at the neighbors grass landscaping as well as the condition of the home next door. Good call on the seller to have you hedge the neighbors lawn.

You do such superb work. I have been trying to find a handle like you have on your edger. I am over 60, disabled with RA and fibromyalgia so back, neck and shoulder pain is constant. I still have yardwork to do and am wondering where you got the handle as it would change my world when I edge and trim. I have EGO weeder and edger that are very heavy and hard for me to hold/control--but I dearly love EGO products. If you created the handle--you have a great design to patent and sell. I would be first in line!

I know what you mean about battery powered equipment. When my doctor put me on a 10 pound lift limit because of a bad back and I’m not a spring chicken any more (his words) I looked at all of the battery powered weed eater/trimmers in all of the stores in my area. They probably thought I was a crazy old lady. I went to the bathroom sections and got a bathroom scale and sat the packages on the scales. If the box was 15 pounds or less it was a contender. I figured the packaging weighed about 5 pounds. When I made a selection I got an extra battery (those things cost almost as much as the weed eater) and a three pack of extra line, it takes one and about a half spools to get everything done. I take it in sections when I do the yard weed eating and trimming I start with the front yard and both sides of the house, back yard next day, mow the front and sides the next day and finally mow the back yard the next day. Guess my doctor is right I’m not a spring chicken anymore. I used to be able to get it done in one day with a back brace on. My brother remodeled my bathroom almost 10 years ago. It doubled in size (it was only as wide as a bathtub so I made a management decision and took half of my office space for the new bathroom) I spent a small fortune for a whirlpool tub at the time. I’m so glad I did. It has paid for itself many times over. It’s sucks getting old for aure

Another old chickie here with degenerative arthritis in my back. I was thrilled when I found the Ryobi battery powered tools. Turns out the ergonomic strimmer I bought is the lightest on the market and the battery is the smallest one they make. Runs out of energy in 15 minutes, just like me. 😉 Picked up their lightest leaf blower with the least amount of oomph so I get less resistance against my wrists. Fortunately it's a small yard. I can almost keep up.

@@renel7303 a leaf blower will be my next purchase if I can find one that takes the batteries I already have. Those darn things cost almost as much as the tool. I to have degenerative disk with arthritis. I had carpel tunnel in both hands but after the surgery (both hands at the same time, don’t do that) now the arthritis in my wrists is bothering me.

@@elizabethadams5699 This getting old stuff is definitely not for wimps. I hope you have lots of tools available. I decided Ryobi would be easy at Home Depot and there are over 100 yard and shop tools for this battery system. The batteries are pricey. Some of the tools are available without batteries to keep the cost down. Battery powered yard tools are a game changer for me. If I just have 5 minutes I can tidy one small area or blow off the driveway or large patio. So satisfying. Saturday I did my sidewalk. It wasn't as bad as this video but definitely needed a trim. The air was so bad for weeks from the fires here in California that a lot of yards got shaggy.

    Just thnking.
a fold down work bench where your bush/hedge trimer hangs would be good so you do not have to change blades with the machines on the ground would be nice for you. the bush/hedge trimer hanger would be on the fold down leg of the work bench/ bending down multipole times a day would kill my back :)
