Thanks for watching!!
Tried this technique in two different sparring matches at my boxing gym and landed them successfully. It catches them off guard and always results in a funny reaction from your partners 😂
I love it!!!!
"To distract then destroy." Applies to this very well. Great job Kevin, work smarter AND harder and we can all achieve mastery like Kevin.
Respect for thinking outside the box. The punch itself may not be the most ideal, but creative problem solving and expressive fighting is what really counts ❤
I saw you use something like against Sensei Seth during his Savate video, the move is definitely striking both in form and functionality :D
This punch seems kinda funny but imagine if you had a wing chun knife, or big survival knife, or parrying blade. This trick shot would suddenly become a very deadly trap to have in the arsenal.
I reallly like your technique breakdowns, this looks neat!
Thank you!!!
Okay, this is a lot of fun! Great tutorial, Kevin! 👍👍👍
Haha, this was great! We all have the go-to techniques, and hopefully, a lot of invested muscle memory. This reliance, however, can prevent us from thinking outside the box. Mindset is key and, at times, gets us the win or saves our life. Something new or crazy can be good for us, even if we never think we would use it in a million years. I like your approach. The "I'm going to destroy you with a scarf" short also gave me inspiration for a new fun drill to run with during a class 😂. I cried laughing and it was well received. You create really good content and seem to be the most humble guy out there. Thanks for the learning and laughter! Keep the videos coming!
Thank you!!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Love it and will definitely apply it during sparring when, and where permissible. However, I will definitely be practicing it and will add it to my arsenal. My first tome watching your videos. Thank you, Kevin! Check it Out! Ciao!!!
for larger less flexible fighters, I have an alternate version: - big fighters have meaty shoulders so we can use them to block...
you take your head off line in the other direction (left rather than right) raise the shoulder on the right drop the shoulder on the left and strike with both hands (at the same time or separately) The right arm strike becomes both a strike and a head height block as the shoulder is protecting the head.
I enjoy a lot of simultaneous strike block moves like this, you can also use the leading hand (assume left) to push aside any block rather than be an actual strike.
This will of course leave your right body vulnerable to a kick but as with everything its all about timing. - nb obviously this is reversible if its a right cross rather than a left or a right strait.
As an aside: I always enjoyed training with tiny fast people as a really big fighter my self - the body type dynamic is so important to understand. Shout out to my old pal Nori who was a tiny man but fast as lightning - one day we put on a demo of each others techniques, him shoulder spearing me to the ground and me kipping up into a kick. Took us both a lot of effort to master those techniques that were so out of place for our body types. good times.. A long time ago you understand.. but good times!
You remind me of him somewhat kevin, the speed and agility. good vid young man, keep on keeping on.
LOL I love that people are starting to use this! The Kevin Lee Scorpion Punch! Let's Go!
Nice technique. Ppl need to use this more. For proof that it works in high level look up GGG vs Szeremeta round 5. Szeremeta tried to tie him up and GGG delivered like 3 or 4 great scorpion punches that did damage.
Lots of good learning here. Thanks
Glad to hear it! Thank you!
Great video, love the 2.0 especially. I'd love to work this into my spars, but worry about coming in too hard, maybe on rare occasion.
Notice you didn't pull out the scorpion vs Saenchai ;)
Hahaha thanks.
I actually did it on Saenchai last year. He took the punch but grabbed my head and swept me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is amazing on like 5 day different levels!
I don't care what the haters say this was a cool technique and clearly for fun. Awesome work
I appreciate that! Thank you!!
Aaaah, a nice “mess with your opponent” mechanic. Well played! 😅😂
Thanks 😅
Amazing ❤
Love it Kevin Lee
Amazing 😍😍😍
Did i just see this guy spar Rodtang????? Holy shit Kevin that’s awesome 😂
What is your favorite shoulder mobility exercise?
Sir i dont have kick flexibility . how can i improve my kick please reply
I like this I would try left hand parry then R scorpion punch L jab and hook the foot as you excape the opponent would have no idea what hit them.
You can even start left hand pull jab down to scorpion punch or spinning elbow the left uppercut hook foot excape
Actualy karate theres a very similar technique (u can see it in many katas) but its a little more refined, the yama zuki
Did this Dude invent a punch? That's fucking awesome! Fucking great.
If you throw your shoulder out of its socket you'll get extra range
Even Jeff Chan or Gabriel Varga cannot stop the 'KLS punch'
I do sort of feel like this could set up an ankle pick, though, or something similar. I use a lot of “low power” strikes from weird angles, too, but it’s always about fishing for a certain reaction, not really about knocking the guy out. I think comments that try to view every strike purely by its knockout potential are kind of thinking too narrow.
Kind of reminds me of Nate Diaz's 1-2 combo punch, except more traveling and body movement are involved to throw a trick punch.
Now I need to look that up!
i'm doing this one on my next sparring session even if i'm about to get ko'ed :D
Reminds me of Chino Maidana overhand
Interesting! Infact, I read 📖 a long time ago the actress Mara corday who was in that movie the black scorpion 🦂 was actually skilled in that technique.
Oh cool!! I need to look it up!
@@KevinLeeVlog thanks for the nice reply, but I was just kidding, but when I heard scorpion 🦂 punch 👊 I immediately thought of that movie, and I will include that in my own training.
you need alot of shoulder flexibility on this sadly i need to strtch more
I've been doing this a bit
1:03 1:53 4:09
I didn't know that there was actually a name for this!
I forgot who named it. Either Gabriel Varga or Shane. Lol
Pacquiao throws that blind overhead every now and then, usually while being clinched
I got an idea.. Do a 2 or 3 minute round and you and your opponent can only do scorpion punches lol.
The sting of the scorpion
was felt by may great warriors.
Chan. Thomson. Vargas. Adams....
None made fun of it.
😂 I'm definitely going to tag you in this. I'm going to drill the shit out of this and bamboozle my sparring partners.
🤣🤣
2.0 like a delayed yamatsuki
6:27 it just goes black Kevin :)
Video coding error that I didn’t catch :( but the video ends there.
6:26-8:06 - {REDACTED}
So basically youre saying anything you see on Soul caliber 2 or Tekken 5 is like possible
Looks like a move in a fighting game, that's how you know it's a fun move
So that's how volk did it
:)
No power there.. it's like funny but when you get knocked the f out.. you wont be laughing
looks ok but turnin back to him not good
I modified it. It's now the one palm strike ACTUALLY can send a person's nose into their brain 😂
Also scorpion was gonna be my vigilante name so i have to use as many variations of this as i can... One of my best capoeira kicks to use is au batido... because you could definitely see why 🦂😂
Lol absolutely ridiculous.
Tho you hardly can knock out someone on stun them with scorpion punch and after it you can hardly follow up with combinations also you are spending too much energy for a punch which can rarely do some big damage
ท่าอะไร?? น่าขำ
