It's because it's so rare to see a black person speaking their language. When was the last time you've seen a black guy speaking Chinese let alone being a polyglot. Also, the stereotype about black people also plays a part.

Asian people who haven't spent much times in the states always seem so reserved, and sometimes it may come off as rude, but really they're probably just afraid of talking or interacting with strangers because their English is bad. It's incredible how much you can see people's faces light up when you start speaking their language. You probably make them feel so welcome. You're doing much more good than you may think, and it's so incredibly wholesome.

When I see your videos on CZcams I feel very motivated to learn more languages. Now, I speak Portuguese (because this is my maternal language; I'm angolan, Africa). I can speak too Cape Verdean Creole, I learn myself. So, I learn too Spanish, Papiamentu of Curacao (from the Caribbean's islands, but I understand more of the Curacao island).
Resume:
* Portuguese (fluent)
* Cape verdean creole (fluent)
* Spanish (fluent)
* Papiamentu of the Curacao (the basic).
My English is too bad, but I can talk a little.

As far as I've seen in his videos, i think he can't really speak much Taiwanese. That's why he doesn't speak it I guess. And as a Taiwanese myself, i can confirm that basically we speak both Mandarin and Taiwanese. Tho there r some difference between region, like in Taipei city we usually speak mandarin more than Taiwanese, but Kaohsiung city is in contrast.And also except Taiwanese, we got some people speaking Hakka too. Taiwanese is literally a dialect of Hokkien and Kinda close to the Xiamenese.
