- Colombian climber Chaves opts for the light Addict frame, with the whole build nudging just over the UCI weight limit.

For a climber like Chaves, we were interested to see butterfly shifters on the drops of his bike - an addition usually used by sprinters.
With such a light frame, the mechanics have a delicate balancing act when it comes to meeting that 6.8kg mark. As it turns out, they've done it perfectly, with the bike coming in a mere 25g over that mark.
Shifting, braking and wheels are all Shimano Dura-Ace, with a Fizik Antares saddle and Continental tubular tyres.

It's funny how you begin to root for a particular team based off which frame manufacture they use. I love my Scott, and always happy to see OGE winning stages/races! :) Thanks for the video GCN
Tom, you do the best pro bike reviews! All the specs and stats and the pros individual touches as well. Really nice job!
forgot the crank length (but i zoomed closely and it's 170 mm), frame size.
cool bike, thanks!
Muy buena bicicicleta!, frame con Shimano 100% ... y las ruedas ufff Excelente Colombia!
Scott make great bikes!
Thanks for putting the music info :)
Fell in love with the Scott Addict ever since I first saw one, and this one is a beautiful example of it.
+ThatWolffe Its a nice bike. you'd be amazed how stiff that frame is despite being only 800 grams or so.
khlash Thinking my next bike might be one of these.
I like it but its not fun to ride where I live due to the rough chip seal roads. The stiffness transmits every bump right up to you hands and crotch. On a smooth road though its a dream to ride.
khlash how about climbs?
Its a great climber.
Hey guys am really liking gmbn's pin the trail segment- would you his consider doing pin the climb?
Great video Tom, your getting pretty "pro" now. I think it's official you're no longer "the brick" your "the lip".
I would make a guess that the finishing tape on the bars is green and gold due to Orica GreenEDGE being an Australian company/team. Not sure I'm so keen on it though. Btw, what's with the EDGE being in capitals?
is that the gearing he uses for climbing?
I wonder what type of lube do they use and how much lube do they apply onto the drivetrain? for all the pro bikes on gcn, they all seem to have very very clean chains and cogs. Or unless they dont put any lube on the chain at all until just before the race?
Esteban Chaves best funy cyclist...............
I believe the seatpost is a ritchey logic carbon wcs post
First and like the colours on the bike
+Guillem Chip. This yellow-green sticky tape looks horrible.
Esteban on the gear?
What is his crank arm length?
What height and weight is Chavez?
The UCI's strangle hold on bike design and set-up is criminal...1 fact for instance is a seat has to be level! #WTF'sthatbout - eros poli used to ride a very curvy saddle and they didnt like that..then again it was either a Rolls or a Turbo back then now Fiziks are the deal - personally i like an ulitmately comfortable SMP! ;)
how long is that stem?
I'm guessing it's a Scott X small, which would make it a 49cm C-T frame.
you need to do a video on the new 2016 scott foil, iv ordered mine so would be great to see it on here
They have already done several.
no i mean a video of a team scott foil, 2016 model not 2015 pal
Ah ok
seatpost is syncros fl
I don't really understand why pro riders still use full "climbing" bikes when there is still a weight limit in place, and the aero versions or semi-aero versions can be made to weigh in at the UCI weight limit, or only just slightly above
+SpraynnPray Difference in stiffness, methinks. more power to the ground vs drag decrease
Riding same weight aero bikes and traditional bikes feels different to me. I'm not sure is it difference in stiffness (unlikely) but more of ride quality and traditional bikes feel more "lively".
+Nepo35 A lively feel is usually because of a stiffer bike.
+Ethan S I would say in fact it's the exact opposite, a bike with some flex has a more 'lively' feel
Sam Singular Cycles Why's that? I find my carbon road bike livelier than my aluminium mountain bike because the tyres are harder and the bottom bracket is stiffer. Bikes with flex feel inefficient and sluggish - not lively.
Sarebbe utile se le misure delle bici dei campioni che vengono prese e dette molto velocemente nel video venissero riassunte in un riepilogo finale oppure riportate nella didascalia del video
Rough roads in the UAE?
+Zsolt Csapó they were generally pretty good.
Unbranded seat post is Ritchey.
+ch2263 or a generic made in china carbon post sometimes branded Ritchey :-)
+Sam Singular Cycles maybe. It looks identical to my Ritchey seat post. I expect they removed the branding for sponsorship reasons. I don't think green edge need to buy generic made in China components, plenty of manufacturers are willing to give them free stuff.
ch2263 Manufacturers give pro teams product because they want to see their name on pro bikes. That post will be an open mould carbon post from China - Ritchey buys 1000s of them and stick their logo on it.
Bar tape :(
Were they a bit short on cash and had to get the cheaper leccy tape?
helps to stay grounded on the pro circuit
+Mac McDade hold on a minute, now. I LOVE that tape...still have 1/4 roll of it from my time living (and riding) in and around Glasgow in the mid-80s...and still sneak it onto every bike I have...looks as good on my Felt carbon frame as it did on my original Puch steel frame.
+Colonel of Truth hahaha, nice :)
+Mac McDade green and gold for Australia.
What's with the earth tape on the end of the bar tape. Obviously ran out of black electrical tape and that's all they had left out of the 3 pack from Wilko ;-))
+David Torr Bit of Aussie green and gold - the OGE mechanics use it on all their bikes.
men I latterly had to watch a 4:51 min comercial to be able to watch the video. Damm CZcams
I'd ride that...
Is the minimum bike weight still 15 pounds?
+jim dandy, 14.9914339 to be precise.
+Ethan S Just wondering why with all the amazing parts available to cut weight that 15 is still in effect? I have a Cannondale Evo hi mod with SRAM RED, Enve bars, seat post and stem, TRP brakes and Enve 45 classic tubulars, weighs only 13.00 with speedplay pedals, computer and cages
I think the weight limit is important because of the original fears of the UCI (structural integrity) However it could be change that if the bike passes other UCI tests to prove it's integrity it could be waived of the weight limit.
Your setup sounds nice. I have an old composite giant tcr, it had 10 speed ultegra but I changed to the new 11 speed 105. Carbon FSA cranks seatpost and bars. For wheels I have mavic ksyrium tubs. I think it comes just under 17 pounds because i ride a large frame. I really like the stiffness of the bike. I'd pay half a kilogram for a stiffer bike.
+Ethan S I would like to see the weight limit done away with and replaced by strength and crash worthiness standards like Formula one does.
+Ethan S been thinking of upgrading my bike to the new 105, how well does it ride?
Is Tom somehow related to Annie Last?
+reset01 Annie is Tom's sister. She holds up the results side of the family.
Tom "Bottom Lip" Last.
Why don't they use C24's?
+Aryan Adibmehr It would put him under the weight limit.
Brian Moore But they can use heavier equipment and a power meter or a heavier stiffer frame for lighter wheels.
the people want pro cross bikes!!
+dylan welch here you go. Have an entire playlist... More soon: czcams.com/play/PLUdAMlZtaV13k_jn_6gnaSIoaw3U2iqV6.html
This music in the background isn't what the brick deserves!!!
he needs Colombian color tapes.
looks like he just sniffed a fart all the time
