  • Just some random footage of this thing running at 7/10ths on the local touge, couple of runs to max revs but not completely beating on it. Moved the mic placement to the rear light housing to pick up just the exhaust on this video. As you can hear from around 1:09 at WOT this thing gave of some 13B Rotary vibes, wasn't conciously going for this but it just turned out that way.
    (Disclaimer I do not own the car, I am not the driver, speedo is in KPH).
    Fully built engine, forged pistons, cams, head, valves, block etc. Increased compression ratio with 7,800rpm rev limit. 550CC Injectors and custom tune. Built and tuned by 1320MINI.
    JCM Intake, 4-2-1 Manifold into full JCM race exhaust (decat).
    GP Works Supercharger with 13% Reduced Pulley and intercooler
    KW Clupsport Coilovers and competition spec anti rollbars
    Solid gearbox/engine mounts and poly bushed suspension
    Adjustable droplinks, control arms and full race geo with corner weighting.
    GP1 Flat floor, GP1 Aluminum trailing arm conversion and R56/GP1 Calipers & Disks with Carbotech XP10 pads, Traction control and ABS disabled.
    Partial interior removal and sparco evo bucket seats, OMP WRC wheel with quick released.
    Weight: 1167kg with driver.
    Power: 278 bhp @7325rpm / 213 ft/lbs torque @4470rpm
    Hoping to do some Subaru videos of a similar style when things are bit more normal so please sub if your interested in seeing something like this, or let me know what you'd like in the comments. ✌🏻

    Really nice, thanks for the vid. I have a 2005 R50 that I keep modifying and my wife doesn't understand why I don't just get a new car. Mine's not nearly as fast as this one, but it's plenty fast enough, and the suspension and brakes are completely dialed (R56 trailing arms, adjustable control arms, Bilstein B16 coilovers, 25mm sway bar, poly bushings, Vorschlag camber plates, Wilwood big brakes front and rear, Michelin Pilot Super Sports on Oz Alleggerita wheels, etc.). I hope to never have a "new" car. Until I can afford a 1969 Porsche 911, my MINI ticks most of the same boxes!

      @@batousan_ yep, I get you mate 🤣 the video of your car with the mic fixed to the passenger side capturing the whine with the launch at 1:50 was what made my mind up to buy one in December. I still watch that video and have done again this afternoon. What's interesting is you're using a 13% pulley and Haywood says anymore than 15% overspins the charger at redline, I've got a 17% waiting to be fitted...should I be worried if I want to take it on track at any point?

    • @batousan_
      @batousan_  Před 3 lety +3

      @@MattL1987 Cheers, thats very flattering mate, glad I inspired you. I was running close to 8K redline with the high compression engine build so my concern when it came to pulley choice was more to do with the amount of boost generated and the risk of detonation. I didn't want the faff of a front mount intercooler setup (the options back then were not as good and unreliable/poor build quality) so heat was my concern, before the build I cracked the head running a 17% due to det/high temps. I wasn't worried about the blower as back then even a delivery mile one wasn't that expensive (think I got one for £200-300) which was much cheaper than a new head/pistons/rebuild 😂.
      17% is great for a road car as torque is up at lower rpm due to higher boost, the IAT on GP intercooler meant it would get hot quickly if you rev'd it out on track. If I went back I'd do 11-13% pulley max and put my money into wheels, tyres, suspension, brakes and setup but do more track days and get seat time, worry about more power later.

    what do you think should i do a r56 swap or should i put 4pot brakes on it?

    • @batousan_
      @batousan_  Před 2 lety

      The oem r56 brembos are shit, so avoid those, I just used R56 calipers, carbotech pads, srf fluid and braided lines. There are other option but the wheel fitment choice and sizing affected my brake options but I can't say I had an issue with them. Car was 1067kg or 1167kg from memory but light which helps.

    hi bro. what are ur wheels size detail? do u have any rubbing?

    • @batousan_
      @batousan_  Před 3 lety +1

      16x8.0J on 215/45 ad08. Everything rubbed, even though metal was removed from inner arch and the plastic arches were filed down a bit. It would hit under compression and pop the plastic off occassionally too. Ground clearance was bad, lower lip would scrape, lower brace would create sparks on a b-road and the jacking points were all removed/fell off.
