Please bring any documents pertaining to your specific immigration case, especially if you've had issues with any of the questions in Part 12 of your N-400 application (arrests, citations, overdue taxes, etc...). Please also bring your green card, interview letter, state ID, all passports including expired ones, your current marital status document, any divorce/death decrees for both you and your spouse from prior marriages, birth certificates of children, child support payment evidence if applicable, any previous name change documents, and official IRS tax transcripts for the last 5 years (or *joint* tax return transcripts for the last 3 years if filing based on marriage).
Tax returns are not required for every case. However, USCIS strongly encourages you to bring your tax returns; especially if you are filing based on marriage to a U.S. citizen, self-employed, or have traveled outside the United States for a period that lasted 6 months or more. *OFFICIAL IRS tax return transcripts* are best. Hi Essa I really want to apply for my citizenship very soon and I heard that the application free went up? I would like to know what is the Application fees now? And I have 3 kids and they’re 16,14 and 4 years old do I have to send in any paperwork my kids?
Hi Bibi! The application fee is currently $640, plus $85 for biometrics, for a total of $725. You do not need to pay for the children on your application. You can just list them on the form. There is also a fee waiver or a reduced fee if you qualify. If you don't qualify for the reduced fee or fee waiver, we recommend applying soon, as fees are going to go up. You do not need to send in paperwork for your children. But please bring their birth certificates to your interview.

For Part 12, you don't need to memorize "dictionary" definitions. Just have a basic idea of what the words mean. For example, "claimed you were a citizen" means that you told someone you were a citizen but it was not true; genocide means to kill a lot of people; a weapon is a gun. Keep it simple. Most interviewing officers do NOT ask for definitions anymore, but some still do.
