I love how this accurately showcases Sans' comedian persona being used to hide his depression, and having said depression, since it's pretty hard to see being portrayed in other fan-stories and comics.

@@yoshier6969 Okay, maybe depression isn't quite the right term (debateable, considering his dialogue implying he is but let's just throw that out of the way for now, considering the actual fandom disregards them for some gosh darn reason) but it is at the VERY LEAST, really close to describing how sans really is.
Like, sans isn't the super op edgy hero that the fandom makes him to be. Just a guy who's on the brink, if not, had already given up, just moving along either for the sake of it or just because of the encouragement of the one's close to him just pushing him to atleast try a little in life, despite his own personal burdens. Or something along those lines idk sans is weird and he's cool like that.

The only thing we have sorta confirmed about him faking anything is the actual opposite, instead he hides whatever secrets he has within that little skull of his with a comedian facade, which he sheds whenever he deems it necessary (like during the date with him (specifically when he threatens you), or the Geno fight). Plus his dialogue during the Pacifist fight with Asriel as a Lost Soul, plus his fight dialogue imply some sense of the term, and while he is the type to keep secrets, he isn't the type to lie during a fight to the death or being a quite literal Lost Soul where your personality is bogged down to its most basic form like in the previously stated Pacifist Asriel fight. Nothing from the game ever implies that he's faking depression or something stupid like that. This is kinda the 1 problem with the fandom making too many of their own ideas that arent canon to Undertale, it's always assumed it's a part of the game and it's lore when it isn't. It's just your imagination people.

I love how much this puts into perspective how a player interacts with a living world. Frisk nor Chara choose genocide, the player did. And because of that, both thought it was the other's idea. Because the player doesnt exist in their world, its like a conscious that inhabits a body and leaves the moment it cant do anything. Gaster put it best, he first wanted to break the barrier, but after realizing their world wasnt real, he didnt care anymore.

Recently beat UT Yellow, and came back to this, one scene that felt wonderful was the part where the souls all tell their stories, and while there may be differences, in the end it all amounts to the same thing. They came to MT. Ebbot, met Toriel, left the ruins, and made their way to Asgore. No matter what, they met their fate with him.

The fact toriel is alive indicates that this was a neutral or pacifist timeline meaning that there must have been a lot of genocide runs completed for sans to break his promise to toriel

I've long left the Undertale community, but this is a movie that I keep coming back to.
I've watched it so many times that I don't feel what I felt the first time, I've become jaded over time, one could say, however, that initial feeling and the story itself is enough for me to keep coming back to this.
Not sure if I've already made this comment, but hey, don't got as good of a memory as Sans afterall. 😄

That time the player wanted to have a pacifist run, but sans thought the player would kill all the monsters
@@somepopcorn352 Even then, this changes nothing, even as a pacifist, most monsters still wanted Frisk to die, even more, frisk was killed at the beginning of the pacifist run, which means they didn't even go through the main events that made them liked. (papyrus date, undyne date, freeing the Amalgates, etc...)
And Sans didn't kill Frisk because he thought they went for genocide, he killed them because he wanted to stop the loop, since he knows the loop, he certainly already went through a genocide. The problem wasn't the path chosen, but the fact that it had nothing else beyond, even the pacifist, could just be looped back in a heartbeat.
The happy ending isn't happy enough when it can just be erased that easily.

I like to come back to the and re-watch it every once in awhile after a long period of time and everytime it gets to the Omega Sans reveal the chills I get from "he's right here..." at 8:58 right before the title gives me chills every time. That line along with "i've definitely been in better shape though." are just so iconic, especially with the visuals that accompany them.
I've never really been into the Undertale fandom to heavily but this comic dub is just so iconic to me and is what sparked me to look into other dubs and read and keep up with Handplates past where the dub was dropped and got me to go down the Undertale fancomics rabbit hole and I don't regret any of it.

So, what I'm getting from this is... The start of the comic is after the events of the rest. What I mean by that is we start at the end, and then go through the events that led up to said moment. I didn't see it at first, but then it hit me. Really interesting to know that such a small detail anchors everything together in the story.

I’m convinced that this and Handplates are in the same timeline. Like, if that makes sense. Only thing I noticed that doesn’t add up is Monster Kid 😂
This comic is so amazingly profound, while I personally don’t believe in sans being able to remember resets, it takes that idea and goes with it so amazingly well, having sans just be the perfect amount of miserable and dull, even in a new situation, additionally it characterises everyone perfectly, especially in not having the ridiculous flanderised papyrus that’s “cute and innocent”, he actually is very down to earth but still a kind dude as he is in Undertale

Well, I mean, the king was happy that he got the souls, everyone just hated how sans decided to absorb them all afterwards for no reason
No matter how many times I rewatch this, I never remember the conclusion.
After a year of mulling and taking this in, I realized that this could be something more. Something... New.
The thought of creating a new world specifically reminded me of how Deltarune originally had a choice to make your own avatar, your own vessel. What if... This sans... MADE DELTA RUNE?
If he created and set conditions for stuff like The Roaring or the Dark Fountains, If he put 2(3 depending on your headcannon) beings into the person that is Kris, IF HE STARTED THE DELTA RUNE PROPHECY.
The possibilities are honestly endless with this one. And I might actually like it.

I remember watching this waaay back. Probably.... 6-ish years ago? Maybe around the time this video was posted or shortly before this compiled movie came out, even. But a long time ago. I was a kid back then. I hadn't experienced nearly any of what I have now(since about 5-ish yars ago or so).... I was a whole other person. And I remember not really understanding Sans being so... passive. For example when Chara possesses him, and Sans does absolutely nothing about it. It felt so odd to me back then.
But now? Good lord, I understand so well. I think the way Sans' depression and consequent tiredness and passiveness was portrayed is pretty good and accurate to his character. He doesn't have the energy to care, only wanting the loop to end and for his friends and family to be free and happy. He doesn't mind if he's the sacrifice for that to happen. He's a bit pissed that the kids didn't let him get dusted, and instead made his goals harder to achieve via teleporting to the unknown void. It would have required so much less energy and work from him to just go along with the DT extractor plan, even if he doesn't make it out in the end. Then, when it seems fairly difficult to actually make his wishes happen, he just kind of... gives up. And all of a sudden he doesn't mind going back to the same old loop (or, at least he doesn't show externally that he does actually mind quite a bit but is too worn down to really do anything about it) because again, it's just easier than fighting yet another fight.
I can relate to him. (though I'm doing a fair bit better now than approx 4 years ago... still not great because of certain life circumstances happening around me that are really trying their best to nuke my mental health, but oh well. Improvement is improvement, and you can't fix the brain/mind in one day. And I'm still kicking and screaming and won't go down without a struggle. And I'm very grateful for all the lovely people in my life.)
Sans existential depression can hit _very_ hard, especially for those who have depression or are just _worn_ from struggles that don’t seem to end.
I’m glad you’re doing better, and agree that it’s a day-to-day process - at times taking months to notice the difference (though this is because we’re so close to it and and thus have trouble recognizing changes).
God’s promised us a hope and future; and, while I won’t presume to know what you’re facing, I can say from experience that despite being firmly planted in the dirt of rock bottom, there’s always hope.

When I was like seven, I couldn't honestly watch this with all its glory, but now since I'm 13, and I have a new outlook on life, I have to say this is one of the best Undertale Comics.

This is the only Sans that made sense when it came to becoming a god because it wasn't about power like how others tried to make a different sans that was more powerful than the last one. This one just makes more sense in game canon, he isn't another god that looks like a glitch or error, the back story is good, his design and name correlates well together.

The child you are talking about has the power of a guard, they can back to life, they can save, load, etc, the flowey is the same thing, even being a flower he has a power of a god, so he could kill the people millions and millions times and nobody would notice. And the child did not kill every single monster in the underground, they killed 100 monsters, something like that. But in the underground has around of 10k of monster (because of the evacuateds, the people in the home, people in places where you cant go, the people in new house, and 10k because of Mettaton views.) But Chara could destroy the world, because them has the power too. And the "years trying to get rid of monsters" is not real, the humans attack and the war was like 4, 5 days, and this was not difficult, no one human was dead and several monster was transformed into dust, and then, monsterkind was trapped in the underground, just in a snap of fingers. If humans wanted, they could extinguish with the race of monsters, they are very strong.

One thing that I love about this comic is that if you look closely Frisk is actually communicating using sign language. That's extremely clever because Frisk is almost completely mute in the game thus they're communicating using a method that doesn't require them talking to do so. Its a very good detail that I love.

... probably neither, because it WAS just a very immidiate thing with no to big reason behind it right? ... Or maybe, the reason why that line is the way it is because Chara KNOWS of the times Toriel accidentally killed them. So, the immidiate answer where all of the sudden fire is hurled towards someone squishy: "Watch your aim (,mom)."
... this probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but still.
