He has a very specific style, but if you look at the composition and how he curated his home, it’s quite beautiful. It’s refreshing to see a different type of home and of course, a gentleman and person of color.

Nothing like listening to an educated, well traveled and cultured man. His home is immaculate, intentional and beautiful.
The only thing lacking is he likes men.
His house is sterile, I must say.
The home itself could be such a cold and impersonal space if it was a different owner. He really is the soul of the home. So bright, hospitable, creative, inviting and sophisticated.
The way he looks in his house also adds to the beauty of the house.
First of all, it took me a while to watch this home tour because I thought I wouldn’t enjoy the ultra modern styling. I was wrong, primarily because I thoroughly enjoy Matthew Harris’s personality. What a joy to listen to and watch describe and enjoy his home. So erudite! Please do showcase more Black homes. We are definitely unique and our homes deserve to be shown more often.
I love how he shows that even though his home is more minimalist and modern that he wants people to be comfortable and to have fun when they come over. I find it super interesting to see the juxtaposition from this colonial home vs the modern minimalism vs being owned by a Black artist. Fabulous.

I’ve realised 16 minutes in that I have a WIDE and WILD range of interiors, art, fashion and PEOPLE that I am drawn to. I would never have thought that I could live on a house such as this, but I ABSOLUTELY could. The pieces he owns are stunning and it will always be about having the GUTS to adapt to one’s surroundings, for you to “wear the house” and not the other way around🎉

The kitchen is stunning! I love the counter tops & back splash. Panda marble is beautiful and a perfect fit for this home. I recently remodeled my kitchen and I wish I could afford my first choice for countertop (Cristallo Quartzite). I chose Taj Mahal and also did the backsplash. I feel so good in my new kitchen.

Although this is not my personal style, I have to say this is an amazing home and the home owner clearly loves it! His enthusiasm and love for all the pieces he has bought over the years is heartwarming. I wish him many years of happiness in Texas.

I ❤ this! It's one of the reasons why I remain an avid Homeworthy supporter. Matthew has a very specific eye and is intentional and purposeful in his vision. I ❤ the modern touch and his explaining his vision of what could be from what is when he first bought the home. It's pleasantly refreshing. As a fellow Jamaican I also ❤ how he's woven Jamaican culture into the ambiance of the home. The art pieces are lovely, as is the pool he built and the grand windows that overlook it. I was a little surprised with no bannister or railing by the steps but I get the vision. The home is beautiful inside and out. Thank you for sharing this ❤

I love what Mateo has done to this home...he definitely modernized it. My favorite things about his home are; the master suite, living room, kitchen and master bath...chefs kiss
I absolutely loved this! His esthetic is so unique. I thought I wore a lor if black, but I do have at least 30% color in my wardrobe. His home is immaculate!!! I love the fun furniture pieces and that they are comfortable and intended to be used.

I love Mr. Harry Mathew home because it’s sophisticated, clean linear design. Yes I love to wear black color clothes for all of the reasons Mr. Mathew says: “ black is sophisticated, simple, humble, strong and beautiful .” His bedroom design continues to reminds me of taking things away from my own. ( it’s minimalist and his’ shows that the bedroom inspired to just rest without distractions.) I love that. Thank home worthy for sharing his to us all.

This house is not my style at all, which tends towards wallpaper, “stuff” and very English country. That said, I love it! It is so beautifully curated, so well thought out, every piece, every view of the home, is beautiful. I love that Homeworthy highlights so many different types of homes, it really lets me think about my own home and how I can push the envelope.

What a wonderful take on Modern/Contemporary minimalism, His home reflects what makes him happy and that’s how your home should be. Loved his classic man style, he definitely has the less of more style down. Refreshing to not see a home cluttered with things for the sake of having them.
Home looks too precious to me although he says nothing is too precious…there’s nothing functional about dining chairs that are just good to look at….but hey ….happy for him…not my style…too modern for me. I don’t feel the intimacy or warmth that he described. We all have our own taste and I respect that. Love his personality ….still enjoyed watching this ….very different❤😊

He is clearly very talented. The biggest challenge with extreme minimalism is that every tiny little architectural detail and finish needs to be 100% because any imperfection stands out. I found while living in Texas that there are very few contractors and craftsmen capable of such attention to detail. I would love to see him give the house a future refresh to dial the minimalist aesthetic in even more, and on the exterior. Frameless doors, museum-finish walls and flush baseboards would really let his style and taste shine perfectly. I’d also paint the house black. It would look stunning, and as a bonus would REALLY piss off the neighbors 😂.
